We're talking about transparent, issue based, lies. By all means, skip over the 'lipstick and farm animals' stories and the $500 shoe stories. But if you are skipping the real stories because you are bored or disinterested you are as much a part of the problem you are trying to avoid as the candidates, politicians and parties themselves.

Nader is running a no frills, no splash graphics, no multi-million dollar 'dream team' behind him made up of marketing specialists, image specialists and opinion specialists, campaign. See him in the headlines of MSM much? No. Does that mean he has less to say, has a less relevant view? Is less qualified? No. It means that in order to get the attention of the people these days you need splash graphics, $500 shoe stories and all of those other things millions of dollars are spent on in campaigns. That wouldn't be necessary if MSM and corporations hadn't ramped up advertising, psycho-engineered advertising at that, encouraging self-indulgent endeavors, and discouraging participation in community and government. OR, we could wake up ourselves, get off the couch, participate, educate and vote. You don't have to vote my way, but you should want to vote and you should want to do it intelligently. That's my philosophy, and it's beyond me how you got from what I said to what you presumed.
