- wisam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19This is HUGE!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Are you for real? You see nothing wrong with Fox *cough cough* news claiming that Obama was brought up a Muslim, without checking out if the news is actually legit?
I'm sure Fox News has the resources to check the authenticity of this story. But why look into it when it sounds much more dramatic to claim that Obama was raised a Muslim. "THIS IS HUUUGE!"
Fox News is a joke. I've seen more quality journalism coming out of Entertainment Tonight. - Historian, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14I think we've established that he has no Muslim past, and there's plenty of time to make that clear between now and election time.
- JohnH, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I had heard about the Muslim-school thing from a friend who listens to a lot of talk radio, so this thing seems to be a coordinated smear effort across all the right-wing media, to prevent us from getting a president who isn't, you know, ***** INSANE.
- mflux, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11That's what she said!
- thestud, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7so i guess the first amendment doesn't apply to people you don't like. thanks.
- MonkeyFarts, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7@ scott1
Actually, I believe you mean that Obama could sue them for slander. There is no Constitutional amendment that bans slander, but slander is not a protected form of speech under the first amendment, as it is a form of defamation of character. Because of this, as well as the fact that what Fox news was saying turned out to be false, and because Fox news's slander was heard by a third party (its viewers), Obama could easily bring about a civil suit against Fox for damages. - astrosmash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Does anyone here even watch Fox news?
- Wonderkind, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Fox. Give them enough rope...
- jackal27, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4What makes me laugh is that Obama is an active Christian...
- trillions, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Sloppy Cronkite?" I remember that Christmas party.
/Greta Van Sustren - geoffcybor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4dugg for chuck
- c6mjohn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2He has no "Muslim background"! Unless you count the fact he is more -educated- about Islam than your average politician.
- SilverhammerMBA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't really care so much about a news station reporting a story before even checking in on the facts (doesn't news just mean "rumors" nowadays?), it's the fact that they consider a presidential candidate being raised by Muslims to be such a big deal! I honestly don't know if they could make it any more obvious that they're trying to turn the public against Obama by using the paranoia that so many Americans feel regarding Muslims.
It seems like whenever a presidential election starts looming in the distance, people seem all too willing to forget that annoying little "separation of church and state" thingy. We're not supposed to be electing candidates based upon who they thought created the universe, we're supposed to be voting on who will make a better president! All of this dirt digging serves only to contaminate the votes by stirring up people's emotions rather than their brains. - bioskope, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So I'm guessing Hannity is dead?
- reverb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dugg not only for awesomeness, but also because it was at 666 diggs.
- RaysinX, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7His Muslim background probably should make him more qualified for the job... I'm not the biggest Obama fan in the world, but it definitely shouldn't hurt him.
Sadly, it will. - whiledo, on 03/25/2009, -0/+1@SilverhammerMBA
It's like going back to the 1930s and spreading a rumor that a candidate is a Jew. Nothing wrong with being a Jew, then or now. But the motivation for doing such a thing is fairly transparent. - fuelvolts, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I do, but I assure you that I am in the minority here on digg.
- smackyaone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well Fox News sure does provide Stewart with a lot of great material. It is a little frightening that people really believe that crap though.

- r3mix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Funny. Thanks for sharing.
- scott1, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Will Fox news was basically saying that Barrack Obama shouldn't be president because they're saying that he went to a Muslim school which is also against the first amendment. Barrack Obama could sue them for discrimination(But I don't think he will for political reasons).
Fox news goes to far sometimes... - ralphman, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2I'm thinking that fox 'news' should be restricted to ONLY doing stories about Hooters girls. THAT...would....be.....(wait for it).....HUGE!!!
- grahamcase, on 10/12/2007, -11/+6man, I think it's ridiculous and sad that this is going to be the outcome, but Obama's "Muslim past" is almost certainly going to mean that he will never, ever be president.
Not that I know whether or not he's actually well suited for the job, but, I'm just saying... - kumicho, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5CHUCK NORRIS!
- reddevil3, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4That's what HE said!
- Pentagonian, on 10/12/2007, -13/+7Please spare the moronic political debate
It was a funny segment and let's leave it at that!! - troublein212, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1one of jon stewarts finest moments. where did they come up with a "sloppy cronkite". pure genius.
- timo1023, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4Eh, it was alright. I was hoping more for a roast on Fox News. There was so much more he could have said...
- jfreeman, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2I haven't seen the Daily Show in a while, but is making fun of Fox News all they do now? That was more of a focus on them than on Obama.
- gr0ver, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2hilarious!
- RealHyperX, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2Why don't you libtards just watch Al Jazeera and be done with it. Obama only sounds good on paper, but the guy is full of *****. Many of you don't know about his little dealings here in Chicago. For some reason its just local news now, but wait till he starts running and all his sweet real estate deals with the Daley clan will show up.
Oh and one more thing. I will start to respect muslims when their clerics will start to condemn the terrorist acts Islamic extremists are doing. So far 1-5% are doing this. History already forgot the 1600s when the Turks (muslims) were very close to conquering Europe. Battle of Vienna turned the tide. - Brandoskey, on 10/12/2007, -13/+4foxnews must be shut down!!
- thestud, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2i am a comedian.. comedy yes to be funny.. but it is the pursuit of the truth.. and sadly i think the daily show stop doing that..comedy can come from the truth or from ignorance. OK fine make fun about fox reporting this story.. just to let you know EVERYBODY reported this story. Where is everybody else? No it is only fox .. and fox is evil science other opinions that don't agree with ours..
And it totally could been a republican that started this story, but how would it have benefited them? it would have made sense to float it when he was the democrat nominee ... but Hillary.. she is in a crucial part of her campaign to raise money and to find allies .. wouldn't throwing a little doubt on her toughest rival makes sense? i can't find evidence either way, but bashing fox reporting is the wrong action to take. How does that get us to the truth? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -16/+3Eh, Mr. Obama seems to dislike freedom, as he seems to want bigger government and more taxes.
I'm going to have to pass and vote for another Libertarian this year.
