- inactive, on 06/10/2009, -10/+742Dugg for highlighting that diversity clubs don't promote diversity.
- entrophize, on 06/11/2009, -56/+388Digg me down if you want - these just weren't that funny.
- anaxa, on 06/11/2009, -25/+266I'm an atheist, and now I'm going to use "SKY WIZARDS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SEASONS, YOU IGNORANT STAIN" every single chance I get. Not to be a douche, but because it's funny.
And it's also because it's true; since---you know---sky wizards really aren't responsible for the seasons.
YOU IGNORANT STAIN. - Favreism, on 06/10/2009, -52/+292This is funny, but is going to get buried by atheist douches for calling atheists douches.
- Innuendo24, on 06/11/2009, -3/+206I hated diversity day. The teacher would say "Let's celbrate our differences, now all the black kids get in that corner, the whites over here, and the rest in the corner. Now we'll go around and talk to eachother about our differences."
How about you just leave us the ***** alone, we are doing fine without being put into small groups based on surface traits. - geeksthenewcool, on 06/11/2009, -27/+207Let's be honest, the one about the atheists club was pretty funny.
- FishHammer, on 06/11/2009, -64/+235No, most atheists are ***** whenever someone even mentions the word "god" in any context.
"Thank god for this warm weather, it's been really cold la--"
"SKY WIZARDS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SEASONS, YOU IGNORANT STAIN"
You can deny it, but I've seen it so many times it's not even an exaggeration anymore. - GeyserShitdick, on 06/11/2009, -11/+167To be fair, that's only internet atheists.
- borez, on 06/11/2009, -6/+140The math club is inaccurate: You can't really hate girls if you've never spoken to one.
- gpit, on 06/11/2009, -1/+135a 'strait' is a narrow body of water...
- hpharty, on 06/11/2009, -6/+134I call ***** on the physics major getting a job.
- Whackly, on 06/11/2009, -29/+132I thought it was funny. You know, most athiests aren't ***** until somebody tries to use Jesus to gloss over stupidity and even then we usually don't say anything.
- UltX, on 06/11/2009, -0/+101Holy *****. That's tragically patronising.
- rinote, on 06/11/2009, -2/+98Oh man, they forgot to add punchlines. How embarrassing.
- ryrocker, on 06/11/2009, -2/+89
i really dont see the point of an athiest club... i mean... like... the meetings must be rather redundant
"um... so we still dont believe in god right? ok bye" - Yawgmoth, on 06/11/2009, -6/+86because if a black woman said it, it'd be ok.
ahhhh can you smell the equality? - ColinApocalypse, on 06/11/2009, -0/+77It's a way of life.
- directedition, on 06/11/2009, -5/+67I've never met a nazi, but I know that I hate them.
- slopoke, on 06/11/2009, -1/+59I thought diversity was an old wooden ship?
- kfconme, on 06/11/2009, -7/+62No, no they weren't. But they were true.
- mrpunman, on 06/11/2009, -1/+54One day, we will all be beige
- IKORKYI, on 06/11/2009, -9/+61try forming a "white student union" akin to the "black student union" or "latino pride" group in high school. see how well that goes over.
evidently, the regular "student union" is the "white student union," which discourages through prejudice and racism (evidently by the white students) involvement of minorities and the "black student union/latino pride club" welcomes all races, including white. yeah. - MacBandit, on 06/11/2009, -12/+64Based on the negative comments here I have to conclude that a lot of people on Digg must have been or currently are members of these clubs and had their wittle feewings hurt.
- daEvan, on 06/11/2009, -13/+64I've never once seen an atheist go off on anybody for mentioning God. I've been bombarded with insults from my fellow employees though for not believing in God when I mentioned that I didn't think that the story of Adam and Eve was necessarily true because I was asked that directly. I opted to stop the conversation at that point so nobody would lose their temper because I knew that they would all freak out if it continued.
This has happened to me personally on more than three occasions from different people. I have never once jumped into a conversation about God just to discredit it, I only engage in conversation about religion if I am directly asked what I think.
I have yet to see a single Atheist call out a religious person ever, though maybe that's because I'm in Texas. - rabidjester, on 06/11/2009, -2/+51Were the others not Americans? You know it's not the 1820s anymore, right? We let brown people and women learn and everything now.
- snagglefoof, on 06/11/2009, -4/+49Please edit this document for coherence.
- mrfritz, on 06/11/2009, -6/+51sounds like somebody didnt get into the club they wanted
- silvershadow21, on 06/11/2009, -3/+46I'm an atheist and I lol'ed.
- noboot, on 06/11/2009, -2/+44They go around passing out flyers trying to convert others. At least on my campus. That is why the caption says "Please bring up God, I would love to be a douchebag". It is pretty much true. They do not shut up.
- Seanathan, on 06/11/2009, -4/+46Those are the atheists that are just as bad as religious people -- Trying to convert.
I want the Jesus freaks to shut the ***** up and leave me alone, so why would I ever try to push my views onto someone who's perfectly entitled to their own views? It makes no sense.. and they give atheists everywhere a douchebaggy name.
Nothing's worse than Mormons and their door-to-door plight, though. - snagglefoof, on 06/11/2009, -0/+39IT'S A SPORT!
- PatchGandhi, on 06/11/2009, -0/+37I'm not sure anyone should be proud of their race. It's not exactly an achievement.
- Yawgmoth, on 06/11/2009, -4/+39I lol'ed too. I'm in my university's atheist club. It's true; There are guys like that. It's funny to hear them rant.
- TheObviousChild, on 06/11/2009, -3/+36It's kinda why I gave my neighbor crap when we were growing up and he went through his punk phase. I tried to explain to him how by being a non-conformist and wearing ripped everything and DM Boots with crazy laces and dying his hair and getting a nose piercing that he's essentially conforming to the punk look. Unfortunately it didn't make his head asplode and he continued dressing like that for about 10 years.
- Favreism, on 06/11/2009, -8/+40Wow, my Digg count is fluctuating more than Oprah's weight. For the record, I'm an atheist who still sees the value religion holds for some people. And there's crazy people on both sides, it just so happens that Digg has a lot of crazy atheists.
- Narcism, on 06/11/2009, -0/+32Clever comment, oh so poor delivery.
- Bic823, on 06/11/2009, -0/+31I'm going to steal that one.
- nesagwa, on 06/11/2009, -9/+38Band isnt a club.
- teemingvoid, on 06/11/2009, -0/+29I'm convinced we'll all just turn a shade of gray-white eventually from lack of sun, indoors
- MofS, on 08/13/2009, -23/+52Actually, it's the opposite. Whenever someone says there is no God, they get preached at by all you religious people, some even get death threats, and stuff like how they're going to hell for eternity, in fact they actually were burned at the stake in the past.
- PurpleDingo, on 06/11/2009, -4/+32As an atheist and a douche... goddamit.
At least I don't own a Mac. - TheRedeemer, on 06/11/2009, -2/+30This is why I never believed in diversity clubs because they indirectly condone segregation. "Hey everyone! Let's make a club with people just like us, and let's only hang out with people that look just like us!" No wonder true equality hasn't been achieved yet.
- cockmonger69, on 06/11/2009, -2/+30Thank you so much for saying this.I am a white male, and I constantly feel like people think that the "regular" student union and things of that nature are for "white people". This is ridiculous. Everyone should be treated equally, and therefore, I think that we shouldn't have groups based on race. Those groups, by definition, are racist. They say that they are promoting diversity, when they themselves are the ones who create these barriers between races. It's just depressing to know that if i tried to make a "white graduation" to go with the "black graduation" that my school has, that i would INSTANTLY be called out for being a racist.
- Mo0man, on 06/11/2009, -7/+34Greatest thing about this thread: it's about atheists overreacting, it's the biggest so far, and it's filled with atheists.
On the other hand, I'd like to see what would happen if an atheist went into a church and started talking about Christians being douchebags - smashblu, on 06/11/2009, -5/+30I thought it was funny as well. Not all Atheists are like that, just the ones that would join a club.
- merreborn, on 06/11/2009, -1/+25"You can deny it, but I've seen it so many times it's not even an exaggeration anymore."
Yeah... I can safely say I've never seen that happen anywhere other than the internet. - JDLamb88, on 06/12/2009, -1/+25Now, that's just being closed minded.
- JeffDUpp, on 06/11/2009, -1/+24then they would be coming into their mouths
- had3l, on 06/11/2009, -1/+23It's not hate, it's fear.
- inactive, on 06/11/2009, -4/+26you forgot the douchebag flipped visor, ultimate Frisbee 2 popped collars cool kids club!
