- 4d669, on 08/26/2008, -62/+340I hope you're trolling:
1. Big Bang is not the beginning of the Universe, it's how the universe transformed into it's current state. It didn't come from nothing. The Universe always is. COBE and COBE II already proved the Big Bang happened and it has been recreated at CERN making anti-matter in the process. (No it's not hell)
2. RNA has already been created using proteins, water and electricity. If lighting hits the sea, it can create life. (Now do you best to cling to your believes by saying that God did it that way)
3. Evolution is a fact that has been observed in laboratories. (Some animals have a 1 day lifespan)
4. Nothing magically happened, if you haven't noticed, planets are big chunks or ***** floating around in ellipses because of gravitational pulls, it's not like the Earth is a perfectly round ball that had to be created by something. Giraffe's with longer necks could reach trees and lived on to pass on their genes, is it really that hard to understand?
5. ***** you. Read a book and stop skimming through one page wikipedia articles. - atomicnoodle, on 08/26/2008, -102/+349lots of Christian bashing here lately..wtf

- Dunnix, on 08/26/2008, -62/+232Why would you want to eat jesus? That part was always a little cultish...
- OneLess, on 08/26/2008, -64/+233Old, but dugg for the great visuals.
- brentinkc, on 08/26/2008, -72/+235Well, christians have been bashing people for the last 2,000 years. You kind of had it coming.
- einrobstein, on 08/26/2008, -52/+210That is wrong in absolutely every single way. Atheism isn't a "belief" in anything. It's a singular stance on one question, being "does God exist?". An atheist lacks a belief in God but does not necessarily believe or affirm that no God exists.
- JoshDaFink, on 08/26/2008, -26/+171That actually sounds about right, if you take out the work "magically"
- KCUF, on 08/26/2008, -25/+162at least eve is hot.
- brettruffenach, on 08/26/2008, -52/+185Let's dumb everything down so it sounds inferior for lulz.
- SillyRabbits, on 08/26/2008, -46/+175What a load of crap! Everybody knows that the Flying Spaghetti Monster is the only true answer that makes sense.
- ControlcChris, on 08/26/2008, -55/+178I would never want to be a member of a group whose symbol was a guy nailed to two pieces of wood.
-George Carlin - jaxter2010, on 06/17/2009, -40/+155Yea, well you can do that with just about everything and make it sound ridiculous.
Digg is where people bitch about how the world sucks rather than go out and try to improve it, and they have debates about pointless stuff like operating systems and internet browsers because it beats going out and socializing. - GamerX, on 08/26/2008, -13/+113C-C-C-C-Christianitity!

- inactive, on 08/26/2008, -30/+118Correction:
ATHEISM:
Refusing to believe in supernatural creatures, including deities, of any brand, flavor and/or variety unless given a compelling reason to do so. - ajames01, on 08/26/2008, -10/+90It's about 1,700 pages long actually...
- Hadrieldragoon, on 08/26/2008, -27/+102Dugg down for confusing Atheism with the Big Bang theory. Just because someone is an atheist does not necessarily mean they believe in evolution OR the Big Bang, atheism is the lack of belief in gods. THATS IT. I understand your desire to make atheism look just as bad as Christianity but its really not possible as atheism hasn't done anything to anyone because it really doesn't exist, its just a title given to people who don't believe in gods.
- flashback99, on 08/26/2008, -49/+121Religion is a widespread mental illness, of which the defining feature is delusional belief in a powerful invisible being who is always watching you and will punish you if you don't follow their will (the paranoid delusions found in schizophrenia are often similar). The illness comes in various strains, of which the most severe is Islam, symptoms of which include virulent antisemitism and homophobia. People not afflicted by religion are called atheists, and they can be identified by their ability and willingness to use rational thought.
Religion is the most common infection in the world, with over 90% of the populace infected with one or another strain. Religion is usually brought on by infection by the group VI Fatal Anginal-Infective Transcribing Hepatitis virus more often known by the acronym FAITH. Symptoms involve believing something that is not only unproven but also outrageously illogical simply because someone (or occasionally a book), somewhere, says it's true. In this respect, faith can be considered the chronic form of the lesser mental disorder gullibility. For synonyms, see How To Make a Million Dollars. The official catch phrase of religion is "Give us your money, and you will have a good afterlife!", known to critics as the "Pie In The Sky" allegory.
Other symptoms involve donation of money to televangelists, participation in holy wars, a feeling of superiority, paraphilic fetishes towards guilt, lack of sense of humor, and spontaneous combustion.
It is commonly believed that religion is also able to manipulate one's personality/point of view in such a way that the infected individual believes, and often inflicts upon others, the idea that masturbation is evil, and that homosexuals are pure, undiluted evil and deserve no rights (see Christian logic). People infected with religion seem to have an addiction to being pedophiles who are members of the priesthood.
Long story short, God doesn't exist. ***** get over it, bitch.

- TheGroje, on 08/26/2008, -9/+72"Tell me how some son of a carpenter started the world's largest religion?"
So there was this twentieth century American author who wrote really mediocre science fiction, but whose drugged and delirious musings formed the basis of a globally distributed religious empire... - inactive, on 08/26/2008, -45/+102@jdog - It's not about "hating" religion. It's about exposing it for what it truly is, a fairy tale. It's about enlightening those who remain indoctrinated/blinded by their beliefs rather than move beyond them and see the world as it truly is. It's about taking responsibility and not just for oneself but as a species, remaining ignorant and guided by archaic beliefs is not the right way to do that. There are too many other supposed gods/deities to keep us from truly coming together, so they must all go.
... then again... you bring about a good point, we're pretty cool for hating religion. - tramblings, on 08/26/2008, -33/+85errr... the early Christians were martyred. In fact they've been martyred over the centuries.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecution_of_Christ ...
Moreover, so was Christ himself. Remember that whole crucifixion thing? At it's core being a Christian isn't a walk in the park. It's laying down one's life, even to the point of death, due to the belief that Christ is the Son of God and Savior of the world. That's an oversimplification but generally summarizes what the fundamental beliefs of Christians are.
Christ very much opposed religious hypocrites, which is likely the biggest reason people were happy to kill him. - oveedrx, on 08/26/2008, -17/+68but he might have aid's.. I'm not swapping bodily fluids with a guy I've never met

- inactive, on 08/26/2008, -13/+50Buddhism. What's improbable about it? There's no god in Buddhism. A guy discovered a method to end human suffering, and spent the rest of his life teaching people about it. Then he died. The end. What's the problem, there?
Dunno about the others. - tomarocco, on 08/26/2008, -3/+37Not to mention Jesus never started a religion...the credit for that goes to his fanatical followers who created a farce via metaphors.
