    pretty weird for star trek though, not since i saw Spock with emotions, have i found it so strange

  • Webwonk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I saw Captain Picard do Shakespeare in August, and he's awesome. We were in London for two weeks, and set aside a day to go to Stratford-Upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare, to see Patrick Stewart play the lead in "The Tempest" at the Royal Shakespeare Company. The production is coming to the US soon.

    On a side note, it was a great way to get my teenage sons engaged in theater in general, and Shakespeare in particular. They dig Star Trek: TNG and know Patrick Stewart from his video game voice work as well, so they were keen to see him on stage.

  • jdhonest, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0funny! I actually met Piccard once at a party after some Saturday Night Live show where he guest hosted...he was so drunk and belting out all kinds of horrible show tunes while stumbling around the club.
    Have to say it wasn't a highlight moment for my Trek fan days, as a matter of fact ever since I saw him like that I just couldn't watch the reruns anymore. It was kind of like when they started showing out takes from the original series, like Spok's ear falling off, or some elevator door not opening, etc. - once you see behind the scenes, sci-fi just isn't the same anymore....let alone when the captain of the enterprise getting a DUI in outer space!
