FAIL - Falldog, on 08/22/2008, -5/+135Piñata time!
- Pawlzors, on 08/22/2008, -8/+125"911, What can I do for you ?"
"Help, I'm stuck in a window"
"Hang on...." - TheoSyslack, on 08/22/2008, -6/+114This world needs a better class of criminal.
- 1892, on 08/22/2008, -2/+91this city deserves a better class of criminal
- Nathrat, on 08/22/2008, -2/+76first the granny story, now this. The quality of the burglars has really gone down lately.
- huaone, on 08/22/2008, -2/+75probably 999 in this case.
- thegrantman, on 08/22/2008, -1/+58"Hang in there mate!"........classic.
- Adam420, on 08/22/2008, -0/+54If he is hanging by his shoestring, its going to be pulling it so tight he probably would not be able to take it off.
- luke374, on 08/23/2008, -4/+52Apparently diggers prefer the "t" in time to be lower case, and only one exclamation point.
- hagerman, on 08/23/2008, -2/+50I believe they changed it to 0118 999 881 999 119 7253.
- MaxIsBored, on 08/22/2008, -2/+48Was your comment any more necessary than his?
Thanks for your contributions. - peterjmag, on 08/22/2008, -1/+46arobar: Is any comment on Digg necessary information? Do any of them add to anything at all?
- denkc, on 08/22/2008, -5/+49Why didn't he just take his shoe off?
- wildfire, on 08/22/2008, -2/+45I hope this doesn't turn his whole life upside-down face.
- inactive, on 08/22/2008, -1/+40I don't understand how this happened. The article doesn't give details or any theories outside of his shoe laces getting stuck (on what?)..can someone please explain this to me? Also, the guy had a hammer for god sakes..what kind of jams can you NOT you get yourself out of with a hammer?
- inactive, on 08/23/2008, -0/+34and I'm going to give it to them
- LonesomeFighter, on 08/23/2008, -1/+35actually huaone's comment was necessary for when Americans go to the UK for fun and get themselves in an emergency situation.
- SpiderBoar, on 08/23/2008, -0/+33Because those were his favorite pair, and he wasn't going to look like a moron having only one shoe on.
- Huangism, on 08/22/2008, -2/+32why do criminals always comes up with the excuse of "i am trying to stop another criminal"
- Threlly1, on 08/23/2008, -0/+29He's come in through the small top window, lace has got caught while entering, tried to drop to the floor.
1. the lace is probably a man-made material so, the moment all his weight was applied, it contracted and stretched fully, tightening the knot beyond his ability to untie it in that position.
2. In that position, without the ability to apply any leverage or gain purchase on any feature around the window, even sheer physical strength would not allow him to reach up and untie it, as he would just spin on the lace.
3. it looks like he's smashed the main window in a vain attempt to find purchase somewhere.
4. He did not bring a knife with him, because, if he was caught, having a weapon of that class would instantly double or even treble his sentence, but means he was unable to cut himself free even if he was strong enough to reach up to his ankle.
Overall, a 24 carat dumbass. - ScottMitchell, on 08/23/2008, -0/+28But why not use the hammer to break his ankle and toes so that his foot could slide out of the shoe?
- doublefelix, on 08/23/2008, -1/+28He should have chewed through his leg to make his escape.
- MaxIsBored, on 08/22/2008, -1/+28Looks like he'll be hanging out in jail for a while.
- ChocChunkOaties, on 08/22/2008, -1/+26I think i know what happened here: the top window in the background of the picture was the one he climbed through as it looks like it's slightly open plus his left foot would have been on that side if that were the case. On climbing through that window head first his laces became stuck on something and he ended up hanging upside down but spinning 180 so that he's in the position he's in in the photo. It looks like he smashed the other window though possibly with his hammer out of frustration or by accident - it doesn't look like he smashed that window trying to get in.
- Samsauce, on 08/22/2008, -4/+29This generation with their sagging pants. Just disgraceful.
- thegrantman, on 08/22/2008, -0/+23They are stopping them....by beating them to the punch.
- inactive, on 08/22/2008, -1/+23Unfortunately the joker in the article isn't going to give it to us.
- saranagati, on 08/23/2008, -3/+25Problems solved by using a hammer:
Hanging a frame... check
Building a house... check
Forcing a car part into place... check
Knocking down a wall... check
Woman says shes pregnant and you're the father... check
Key to home not working... check
Bug crawling across your wall... check
Getting stuck upside down from a window... apparently not. - BDOUG, on 08/23/2008, -0/+22Cop friend of mine says they love that some of the thugs wear sagging pants because they can't run away worth a darn.
- bluesman3535, on 08/23/2008, -3/+22Burglars are scum. He's lucky they were only laughing and not using his hammer on him.
- schneidafunk, on 08/22/2008, -0/+18Time for Velcro
- inactive, on 08/22/2008, -0/+18I still don't understand how he ended up in that position. How do you end up, upside down, hanging from the TOP of the window? If he broke the window and climbed in, wouldn't his foot; if anything, be caught at the base of the window where nobody would see him? Does someone know the model of this window and understand how you could end up in that position?
- funkytommyman, on 08/23/2008, -0/+18Now, this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I liked to take a minute
Just sit right there
I'll tell you how I got my shoe caught on a window - dty2010, on 08/23/2008, -0/+18It's good to know that no matter how much you screw up in life, you'll never fail as hard as that guy.
- FXPooky, on 08/23/2008, -1/+18Heh, and he ends up hanging upside down. Get it?
- inactive, on 08/23/2008, -1/+17This ain't no title!
Keep that t decapitalized. - DteK, on 08/22/2008, -3/+19whoever built that frame gets a gold medal.
- Fracture98, on 08/23/2008, -1/+17They're all busy running the government.
- Darksider, on 08/22/2008, -1/+17So Mr Burglar guy Hows it Hanging?
- inactive, on 08/23/2008, -3/+18Ahh... the days of the GOOD Family Guy.
- stonebear, on 08/23/2008, -0/+14All that’s missing is the Benney Hill music and sound effects.
- lisaawesome, on 08/23/2008, -0/+13This is exactly why I do sit ups while hanging from my shoe laces. Always gotta be prepared.
- insinuate, on 08/23/2008, -2/+14bravo sir, I was wondering the same as denkc. That seems the most plausible.
- ScottMitchell, on 08/23/2008, -1/+13What pun do you have for us? Do share. Don't leave me hanging.
- saranagati, on 08/23/2008, -0/+12I had a friend in high school who couldn't hold his alcohol one night as we were drinking in a park. Cops showed up and we all ran, well he attempted to run but fell on his face about 20 feet down the street because his pants fell down to his ankles. Luckily for us, the cop stopped to put him in the back of the car and we all had a chance to find somewhere to hide.
- Fracture98, on 08/23/2008, -0/+12Maybe that explains all the feet in runners washing up on the west coast. Boat robbers.
- mmeiser, on 08/23/2008, -0/+11Karma Police on call !!!
- lamiaconfitor, on 08/23/2008, -1/+12he never thought to take of the shoe... genius.
