- AFelsinger, on 11/03/2008, -5/+309i remember as a kid, this one road would almost always be under construction.
one day, someone had scribbled "less" onto the sign, making it read Endless Construction.
boy did i think it was funny. - thcobbs, on 11/03/2008, -5/+141Being easily amused is not, contrary to many opinions, a bad thing.
- chipotlehero, on 11/03/2008, -2/+81I don't know about you guys, but i would be pretty excited to see road work that was only 20 feet, instead of the usual 3 miles of coned off lanes with no one working on it.
- Gr00ver, on 11/03/2008, -1/+78When I was a kid.. every time I saw those 'END ROAD WORK' signs.. it always seemed like a sign an anti-construction protester would hold.
- Fleagleman, on 11/03/2008, -23/+84Thanks to people like you, Dane Cook continues to make money.
- Trekhawk, on 11/03/2008, -4/+62Can you tell from some of the pixels and having seen quite a few shops in your day?
- SRSco, on 11/04/2008, -5/+51Being easily amused is not a bad thing. Being amused by Dane cook, however, is a horrible thing.
- mindbottling, on 11/04/2008, -2/+39For anyone that's interested, I took the photo and it's not fake. Both signs are in focus because they're only a few feet apart. The only editing I did to this was a slight crop and blur in the background. I took the shot in Goleta, CA, where they had posted both signs right outside an intersection that had some work being done. It was not a setup. http://www.flickr.com/photos/29855608@N07/
Thanks everyone for looking at my photo :) - inactive, on 11/03/2008, -2/+37there should be this argument included alongside every PIC submission just to get it out of the way. jesus...
- StigNordas, on 11/03/2008, -5/+40In Alaska they say there's only two seasons: Winter and Construction.
- realgame84, on 11/03/2008, -1/+34maybe there is a tiny hole that needs to be covered between the signs:)
- halftank, on 11/03/2008, -2/+35"Road Under Construction: Please Use Canada"
- ldkronos, on 11/03/2008, -1/+29I'd happily settle for that. Instead, here in Michigan we get this:

"I hate to think that all my current experiences will someday become stories with no point." - ExRe, on 11/03/2008, -4/+25A good photographer can get both in focus with a decent camera, lens, and settings. You just need to learn to use the camera correctly.
- HyperionHK, on 11/03/2008, -0/+19That's the standard joke around here for Canada too. We only have Winter and Construction
- deademery, on 11/03/2008, -43/+61I hate to be so cliche and say it. But photoshop. The background sign is in perfect focus, too.
- jtotheoe, on 11/03/2008, -4/+22even if it is, so what? its the concept thats funny, not whether its real or not.
- dgcarbs, on 11/03/2008, -0/+18you have to move down to Vermont then. We have winter, mud, and construction
- mindbottling, on 11/04/2008, -1/+14As far as why the signs are both in focus at f/4, I was significantly more than 10 feet away at the time of the shot. I shoot on a 1.6x crop frame Canon 40D, and a 50mm lens is slightly telephoto. I took this from the window of a car, so definitely not within 10 feet, which is why the dof is larger than what you had estimated. Furthermore, I was not shooting face on, I took this from an angle to the sides, so in terms of distance from the camera, they were not necessarily the same distance from the camera as they were to each other. Thanks for all the work you put into this though.
- BadseedJR, on 11/03/2008, -1/+13You do, because you said it.
- tensheapz, on 11/03/2008, -7/+18No its not. There's alot less detail in the background sign. You can't see the diagonal streaks in the orange, and the post itself is blurry.
- pixelate, on 11/03/2008, -2/+12Dugg for Calvin and Hobbes, and in spite of the snark.
- purzzzell, on 11/03/2008, -1/+11I can see you joined Digg about two days ago.
Let me give you a hint - constantly plugging your website is just going to get your comments buried - you've done it on every one of your comments since you joined.
It's thought to be lame around here. Especially when the comment is just something like "That's funny" or "this made me laugh". You don't need to comment to say those things, you just click "digg it" at the top.
The unnecessary comment makes it even MORE blatant that you're just here to plug your site, whether that's the case or not.
You probably don't know how to check if your comments are being replied to, so you probably won't be reading this anyway. - jemka, on 11/03/2008, -0/+8No one wants your art, robot.
- steve9924, on 11/03/2008, -2/+10gotta love it...maybe the sign itself needs work..
- WallaceFreeman, on 11/04/2008, -0/+8SPEED TRAP
- inactive, on 11/03/2008, -3/+10the third sign reads: "made up aforementioned roadwork to fulfill quota"

Thanks everyone for looking at my photo :) - darkNiGHTS, on 11/04/2008, -0/+7In Michigan we have four seasons. Almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction.

Thanks everyone for looking at my photo :) - mindbottling, on 11/04/2008, -0/+5You know, I didn't even post this photo up here. I'm done defending myself. I know that it's not a fabricated photo and that's what matters to me. I could go into a long explanation about the trees, but I won't because this is just silly.
- ophello, on 11/04/2008, -0/+5you are a dick for not reading the caption. people like you spread stupidity with your knee-jerk "photoshopped" remarks.
- YanSan, on 11/04/2008, -0/+5some people say that about Michigan as well
- Nero9171, on 11/03/2008, -0/+5Hmm, I wonder that that reply button is for.....
- mikbunn, on 11/04/2008, -0/+4And you get dugg down for it. Ha.
- inactive, on 11/03/2008, -3/+7as good as your spelling prowess.
- Quicksdraw, on 11/04/2008, -0/+4STOP THIS CHANT! STOP THIS CHANT! STOP THIS CHANT!
- m0ng00se68, on 11/04/2008, -0/+4Read the comment under the picture. He describes how he used photoshop to blur the background trees and crop. He also posted the untouched photo in the set, which for all intents is the almost identical.

- fuckingusername, on 11/04/2008, -2/+5how many phucking times is some gonna say I think it was photo shopped
- Lith25, on 11/04/2008, -1/+4Only cause thats the third time he's said the same speech.
- ChuyMatt, on 11/04/2008, -0/+3*sigh* ok.
Winter= ***** TONS OF SNOW. Construction is difficult. that and the length of daylight sucks.
SO... when it is not winter, construction is done to get everything done before the next winter rolls around.
There. I just killed the joke. - KRY4no1, on 11/04/2008, -0/+3@fairviewjim... Are you unemployed?
- ronintetsuro, on 11/04/2008, -0/+3Yep. He had to promise to crop out Smokey to keep his camera and not get tazered.
- mindbottling, on 11/04/2008, -1/+4To be fair, I didn't have the caption up when this was first posted because I didn't even know my photo was being posted here. I added the caption when I realized there was so much discussion about whether this is real or fake. They may have left these comments before I put up the caption.
