  • Rain12913, on 10/16/2009, -0/+26Definitely a hoax. Not only did the kid essentially say that his parents told him to do this "for the show", but the father's response was a dead giveaway. He was completely shocked that his son had just said that and didn't know how to respond, so he very uncomfortably changed the subject and started to ramble. The fact that this family has clearly sought media attention in the past (participating in a reality TV show, sending videos into CNN's iReport, and making Youtube rap videos of their children) makes me think that maybe they were trying to get some kind of reality TV show deal and this was their stunt to get famous to make it happen.

    Too bad Blitzer didn't pursue that line of questioning, I'd have loved to know what the father's response would have been if Wolf had asked "Did your son just say that you told him to do this for the show? What does he mean?".

Now I'm kind of excited to hear how this is all going to play out over the next week or so when it's revealed that this was indeed a hoax. Will charges be pressed? Maybe these ridiculous reality TV shows about families and their kids will be brought into question? One can only hope.
