- SniperZero, on 04/22/2009, -7/+525The Pirate Bay gets back up and... WHAT it's splitting into 2 bodies... Now they are both splitting again. It looks like this battle has just begun.
- inactive, on 04/22/2009, -3/+498Considering that the Pirate Bay isn't going to pay the fine and will still keep functioning - I wouldn't even consider this remotely a win for the entertainment industry. The entertainment industry is like a senile old man who thinks they won, but aren't even aware that they are playing a different game entirely.
- demonashes, on 04/22/2009, -13/+292piratebay - Its just Round 1. We are with you.... Buck up.
- doctechnical, on 04/22/2009, -10/+231Google's hosting .torrent files? Hooray!
- Dumbledorito, on 04/22/2009, -5/+143Is it possible to deport people to old AOL servers or something?
- 5trokerac3, on 04/22/2009, -8/+145No, you can search for torrents and direct downloads of any file that TPB has and more through Google.
- cjohara, on 04/22/2009, -2/+139"He's Gettin' killed out there"
"No, no, no! He ain't gettin' killed; he's gettin' mad!" - inactive, on 04/22/2009, -1/+134Psshh. All the Pirate Bay has to do is rapidly hit A and B and they'll be back on their feet in no time.
- ukiya, on 04/22/2009, -2/+129And Pirate Bay is little Mac!

1000s of torrent websites open to you. - rob132, on 04/22/2009, -2/+103Soooo... the key to stopping Google is to hit them in the mouth, revealing a weak spot on their stomach?
- liljay2k, on 04/22/2009, -3/+88Peter: Dear Lord, please give me the cheat codes to Mike Tyson's Punch Out. I have been stuck on Bald Bull for four years. I tried left, left, up, B, dodge, Uppercut, but he still knocks me out. And you know, they said you're suppose to go right, B, up, dodge, left, Uppercut... (chuckles).. listen to me tell you how to play the game.
- davzie, on 04/22/2009, -2/+83Basically trying to say they could sue Google for the same thing essentially but because they're so big they aren't going to try and bully someone bigger than themselves etc.
- FreddieD, on 04/22/2009, -1/+79Someone who has the ability to get stories dugg up should submit this.

- NickLee808, on 04/22/2009, -2/+64Pirate Bay needs a gun.
- emkaysmith, on 04/22/2009, -2/+57Do the entertainment conglomerates *really* think Pirate Bay's previous customers are now going to all get in queue to purchase "legal" copies of the stuff they used to download? Do they sincerely think this prosecution is going to improve their profits? Amazing.
- OniSyphon, on 04/22/2009, -16/+71I'm sorry but someone has to say it. The piratebay.org acted like a bunch of immature ***** about this case and about the threats to their site in general. They made a mockery out of the case when they had a real chance to set precedents. Note to next webhost, programmer, owner, etc. act with some sense and treat it seriously. I have no respect for them at all. Thankfully the guys at Isohunt seem to have their ***** together and will use logic, reason, and some dignity in regards to their case. There, I'm done.
Digg down. Dont' care. I know you read it. - Jesse, on 04/22/2009, -0/+50I don't understand. If you remove all the labels, how do you know what company the giant boxer represents?
- Yarkz, on 04/22/2009, -0/+49No they just need to hit A and B faster
- darlingt, on 04/22/2009, -6/+51You can get all the things that TPB provides through Google, making it just as illegal as TPB. The difference is that Google has a much better reputation than TPB, at least stateside.
- maotx, on 04/22/2009, -2/+46But not the trackers...
- highwebl, on 04/22/2009, -0/+41Without the labels it's totally clear. The small boxer is the stagecoach, the middle sized boxer is the airplane, and the big boxer is a space elevator.

- FreckleEars, on 04/22/2009, -3/+35The logic hurts my brain so much. I agree that Google is not a torrent host but they do 'assist in making copyright content available'. A present tense quote from the trial. To that degree, it can be argued that Google does in fact 'assist' to the degree that Google does not remove the search of torrent files from their search code.
To the same degree, ISPs also 'assist' by not blocking contact to torrent sites and torrent files. To the same degree again, some ISP's are owned by the very companies that are trying to stop piracy. With such a horrible reason for a guilty verdict... Time Warner can actually have to sue themselves by not blocking the access to torrent hosting sites. Time Warner is "world's first fully integrated media and communications company", i.e. they create and distribute media.
The whole upside to the Pirate Bay trial is if they lose the appeal... there is no argument based on the verdict that you CANNOT try Time Warner, ISP's and Google. They all '"assist in making copyright content available'. To this logic, TPB can't lose because it is a double edged sword for the media companies.
Also, by ISP's banning sites that could contain legal material, or by banning P2P traffic, they are essentially getting into a violation of human rights of freedom of expression and free speech etc. - lornefs, on 04/22/2009, -1/+33What are you talking about?
- ThornHarvestar, on 04/22/2009, -15/+45I think most people are missing this;
It appears to be trying to say that the Entertainment Industry has a bigger problem on deck: Google.
They get so caught up with trying to teach TPB a lesson that they aren't paying attention to the bigger issue. - LimeParrot, on 04/22/2009, -1/+30He's... HE'S GETTING BACK UP
http://images.google.com.au/images?gbv=2&hl=en ... - antistupid, on 04/22/2009, -4/+32Pirate Bay needs to learn some jiu jitsu and go for the takedown
- Dumbledorito, on 04/22/2009, -28/+56I do so like it when cartoons put "why this is funny" labels on everything. It takes all the stress out of reading the comics page.
- a7r3ides, on 04/22/2009, -2/+30if anything it will make more people aware they can get the same things for free.
- dafragsta, on 04/22/2009, -0/+26Don't forget to wait until their mouth is open. If the mouth is closed, you'll be in for a nasty surprise.
