- SQUIDwarrior, on 10/12/2007, -2/+44I'd like to thank these people for helping me get A's in college by skewing the curve.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -22/+64Well, this could have been submitted without the inflammatory title.
- juneof44, on 10/12/2007, -10/+48How many right answers did he have to cut to get these gems?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+36"Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that." - George Carlin
- guregu, on 10/12/2007, -3/+34The title was designed to grab our attention. It looks like it worked.
- benitojuarez, on 10/12/2007, -15/+42And honestly, every country has its schmucks. Why does everyone feel its fashionable to take potshots at the US, No matter what country you're from, I'm sure you have the equivalent of a "crazy uncle bob" who has sex with sheep.
Get over it. - aplusplus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27As opposed to smart idiots?
- dugbay, on 10/12/2007, -3/+25Canada, England, China, and Russia can look stupid too if they interview enough people and edit out the smart ones. The stupid people are the ones who think this represents America; when it’s really just represents a few stupid people.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -6/+28Hey bgoodknight, too bad you weren't interviewed. You sound like the type of person who would have made the final cut.
- grooviekenn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23That guy is either an idiot or a prophet....
- ig33k010011, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18...or i can just watch CNN...
- unloud, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18We're working on the third one. Give us a few more months.
- econoar, on 10/12/2007, -13/+29He either A. Cut out 98% of the right answers or B. Set this up.
- elektricki, on 10/12/2007, -11/+27Yeah and I could go over to England and hand pick idiots to tape. So what?
- benitojuarez, on 10/12/2007, -22/+38You of course don't seem to realize that the President of the United States is officially elected by the electoral college, http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=electoral+college , not the popular vote, also known as "the stupid americans" according to you. While the electoral college has only elected a president who didn't win the popular vote twice in the history of the united states, THEY have the final say on who wins the presidency. You should really do some research before shooting that smarmy bitch ass mouth of yours off.
- eadnams, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14hehe, I like how its 'un-american' to question the government that was founded on the belief that the government must be questioned.
- Crustibooga, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15I'm from good ol' blighty, and yeah there are some pretty ignorant people here too. It's more a show of how bad education can be. Sad, but this is the case almost everywhere.
- Malicious, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Not nearly as good as Rick Mercer's "Talking to Americans"
- followme, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17Ironic!
"Stupid Idiots" that's like saying "Gay *****" - josephb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Which one is throwin' the rocks.
- Poppso, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13There is almost 300 million people here, of course we have our share of idiots.
- halldan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12i'm pretty sure similar answers could be heard in any country in the world
- DuffDemon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12They guy sounds Australian to me not English.
- juneof44, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10"1930: In the midst of the depression, Harland Sanders opens his first restaurant in the small front room of a gas station in Corbin, Kentucky. Sanders serves as station operator, chief cook and cashier and names the dining area "Sanders Court & Café."
....
1952: The Colonel begins actively franchising his chicken business by traveling from town to town and cooking batches of chicken for restaurant owners and employees.
The Colonel awards Pete Harman of Salt Lake City with the first KFC franchise. A handshake agreement stipulates a payment of a nickel to Sanders for each chicken sold."
I'll be damned. - clickmyface, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Its "un-American not to."
I wonder how many more times that line is going to be thrown around in this country.
Thankfully instead of saying it in my head with the voice of George Bush I do it with Will Farrel, making it a lot better. - Pharaoh777, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13Of course - than - correctly
Good to see you're sticking up for the intelligent people. - Choaderboy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Each and every one of them could win a Presidential election.
- IMesh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9"That's something that Americans do which is stupid.
They can't tell the difference between British and Australian accents.
HOW??????? They are completely different."
Most of them wouldn't be able to tell the diffrence between American and Canadian accents. - azmoviez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Right. Because I'm SURE they'll show a representative sample from all parties. It's not funny if they aren't stupid and editing tells the story the director wants. Does Jay Leno show properly worded news articles along with the misprints?
- alephsmith, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9@elektricki- He is an Aussie- of course we all must sound the same to you.
- camelmix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8lol that's not fair, are they picking on people at Venice Beach, CA?
- ByteGuerilla, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9"I only said England because that is where the interview is from. I have nothing against England personally. I love fish n chips... and ***** like that. (But not deep fried candy bars... explains the teeth problems.) D:"
Deep fried 'candy bars' is a Scotch thing, boyo, not English. - Iceduck, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Well, there are a LOT of stupid Europeans too, so that title should read "The Americans in this clip are Idiots".
It probably has more to do with people's social and educational background than their nationality. Just a guess. - loveandrockets, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Americans don't really have to know anything. Most people just worry about work, love life and talk about entertainment and TV. In fact, it's detrimental in some cases to know about many things, you'll be branded a communist, atheist, probable child-molestor. In many workplaces its best to keep your mouth shut about politics, foreign policy and the world in general. That's been my experience anyways.
One time I brought "The Brothers Karamozov" into work to read at lunch and after explaining who the author was and what the book was about, people just remembered "that guy who likes russians--the commie." (I worked at a large hotel at the time.) - Nodren, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8its stuff like that and jay leno's jay walking bit(he does the same thing) that really confirm my already apparent belief that the general IQ of americans is quite low(where i live, noone understands simple concepts of driving, such as not speeding through yellow lights, cutting others off, right of way, what a yield sign is for, how to drive in a traffic circle.
the real question is, if i was born and raised in america, how is it i know these things when others are completely clueless? do people just not care about learning? - BrickSprickly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6omg. i know that guy with the headphones! when i lived in DC i used to see him jogging down the street everyday from my office window. he would hop around like that in the middle of a busy intersection and yell ***** like "DC! HO! HO! DC!"
- MikeZila, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Gah. Stuff like this makes me feel bad for my own country.
Listen, guys, we're not all like this. Really, we're not. - dexterityofluck, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8the power of american public schools.
- Psylabs, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I mean "come on" I think is what you were trying to say?
"common"??
A little ironic IMO - EochaidRiata, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11It is a clip from Chaser's. About 90% of the full episodes are available to download.
http://isohunt.com/torrents?ihq=chaser%27s+war - SCHNOZAGIZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5OK...
First off, this does not only apply to Americans, but to every single ignorant person in the world. Ignorance is a disease that people use as an excuse. They use it as an excuse not to learn and as an excuse to close their eyes to the world around them. - richbradshaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5how many eiffel towers are there in Paris?
uh.. about 10 I reckon...
WTF? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9Almost half, but not ALL. "Americans" is certainly a baseless generalization.
- FatNerd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Australians can't talk... try asking them who their Govenor General is...
- leonwehttam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6People in general are stupid!
- joeydoo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9That's something that Americans do which is stupid.
They can't tell the difference between British and Australian accents.
HOW??????? They are completely different. - p0ss, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7i really hope so, i really really do.
I have often thought of travelling to america to visit, but i wouldn't feel safe.
Think about it, where else in the world can i be arrested without charge and held for an indefinate period in prison, tortured and denied all access to the outside world, at the hands of an unelected and unaccountable government? and all this, just for speaking freely.
It sounds just like Pre-war Iraq..
The phone lines are tapped, the officials are corrupt, the leader and his cronies funnel money into their businesses, and repeatedly attack other countries, While encuring Massive national debts.. The schools are terrible. Health care is terrible. Crime and Homelessness are Rampant. the Media is censored and biased to the point of propaganda.
And to even say these things in public will get you arrested, killed or at the very least denounced as a nutjob and possible enemy of the state.
this is how i see the USA. And i _know_ the rest of the world see's it very similarly.
If i was American, i would be denounced as "Un-American" for saying this. But given the America i have outlined, who would want to be American?
The only explaination i get from americans is "stupidity".
why are things like this "Our leader is stupid"
why do you have a stupid leader? "lots of stupid people here like him"
So wouldn't be too quick to say that Americans arent stupid. At the moment its your only excuse. It's either Stupid or Evil. - light50, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5...diaper head?
- wastern, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Jay Leno used to do this stuff all the time....years ago, I assume he still does. People don't even know who the Vice President is. I guess that explains our current predicament
- MackPrime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4you could do the same thing in the UK. No faith ? Ask a chav who their P.M is.
