- Prototek, on 10/11/2007, -10/+57Stephen Colbert talking candidly makes it worth watching but the Harvard people that talk are horrible. You think they could get someone with interviewing skills.
- Jofaba, on 10/11/2007, -10/+38For everyone hating on the interviewer:
"Hi, I'd like to see you do better!"
He's interviewing a freaking celebrity. Plus, it's in front of hundreds of people instead of just a camera. Oh yeah, and he has CONTROL of the interview. He's the bad guy for cutting people off from asking ten questions etc. The guy did fine. He didn't have a wavy voice (sign of extreme nervousness), he was adaptive, and the interview as a whole was fairly fluid. It wasn't perfect by far, but not bad for a student run event.
Get over yourselves, not everyone wakes up with a camera in their face. - cr4ft, on 10/11/2007, -7/+28guys guys, what's with all the hate for Harvard?
Who needs to develop their skills socially when you can just read every book about it! - dirtyhipster, on 10/11/2007, -7/+28or someone with somewhat of a personality
- rustyspoon, on 10/11/2007, -6/+26Stephen is bored
- D3koy, on 10/11/2007, -3/+21You would really apply to a school, hoping to get accepted so that your could write a long letter telling them you won't be attending?
Sounds to me like your a jerk....a jerk with money to waste... - wierdaaron, on 10/11/2007, -3/+20Jump to 4:50 to skip the clips we've all seen a thousand times and soundless entrances.

- Genjeta, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12Arg, I hate those f*cking people who only go up to the mike to ask "will you be my friend?" or "are you free for lunch?" and then laugh at their own question thinking they're clever. Idiots....

They explicitly mention his character in the interview.... Do realize that the REAL Stephen Colbert is different than the one you see on TV?
- vhold, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Well, thruthiness actually burned itself out quite quickly, in terms of tolerability and coolness. Stephen himself doesn't refer to it anymore, smartly so.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4The woman was damn annoying. Stephen was very interesting.
- Dundasbro, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Well someone went to Yale
- doctorbasic, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Carlton Urkle hybrid in the front row with a grey/pink argyle.
- hoppdawg, on 10/11/2007, -6/+9Worst interviewer ever. Hope he doesn't let it go to his head he's at Harvard.
- Nick22, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3dont forget their incredibly annoying laughs right into the mic....
- RHMac, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2James Lipton would have gotten him to dance.
- DOAmaster, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Stephen Colbert is a great improv comedian, he rules
- hippykiller, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4I have that exact same shirt that the black guy is wearing!
- waylen22, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Love Harvard's affirmative action having the kid with the speech impediment to interview Stephen Colbert.
- HypocriteDigg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1They're called 'young Republicans', not geeks and dorks.
- equivokal, on 10/15/2007, -1/+2http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5550134133036374310&q=colbert&hl=en
- abhissekk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1That makes me so sad...
- Genjeta, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2The lack of reaction from the crowd when that one woman said "truthiness" was hilarious, that was never meant to be an on-going joke.
- scully8746, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2On the whole, the video was entertaining, but I have to admit, I was very disappointed (and kind of disturbed) that someone at the Kennedy School apparently couldn't grasp the difference between "truth" and "truthiness." They're not synonyms, not at all, and if you don't get that, you're missing everything that makes the Stephen Colbert character so brilliant.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1You know, I actually fell in love with Stephen Colbert the first time I saw him on a Law and Order: CI episode. I had never seen him take on such a serious, obsessive-compulsive role before, and it really establishes him as not only a savant of the comedic and acting world, but with this interview establishes him as a credible source of intellectual conversation.
- diggdong, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I find it rather comical that the people who call these people geeks are typing on this message board. Remember when computers literate people qualified them as geek or nerd?
- WanderLink, on 10/11/2007, -5/+5Uhh, look at those nerdy Harvard freaks. For God's sake the man asking the questions is in a green bow tie and blue shirt, and the black dude behind him thinks he's Buddy Holly.
- virtualfred, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0"This could be a midget assassin in a kid suit!"
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1For only 2 cents you are not allowed to write your opinion about it. You can barely take a quick peek at it.
- p0tent1al, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I was watching the video and at about 3 minutes into it I wanted to ***** tell that lady in the pink suit to Shut The ***** Up! Seriously, the lady needs to STFU, and the geeks interviewing the Greatest Living American need to STFU.
- ch28kid, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2That place is fill with Geeks. Stephen is not one of them!
- gregmo, on 10/11/2007, -4/+3The host was trying too hard to be James Lipton.
- tize, on 10/11/2007, -8/+7buncha dorks
- manmademark, on 10/11/2007, -4/+3Who is this guy? Why him? couldn't they find a local kid at starbucks who actually has some people skills to do the interview? this kid is ***** KILLING me.
- phantasyelf, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2Ahh Harvard students are so unbelievably dorky......all that time they spend studying must have effected their sense of style. Not a bright colored shirt in the whole camera scan.
- dreicher, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1Am I the only one that wouldn't have minded going right into the Negroponte interview?
- hippykiller, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1I think what all of you referring to the audience members as geeks, dork, and doofus's fail to realize, is that these geeks, dorks, and doofus's will be ruling you within the next ten to twenty years.
- macgyber, on 10/11/2007, -3/+0I wouldn't know, they don't play his show in the UK.... and this is the only place I've ever heard of him. And on digg, he's always "out of character!!!!"
- cr4ft, on 10/11/2007, -9/+6@jofaba
I don't think people have a problem with the interviewer per se, but just the fact that a prominent school like Harvard could not find someone who can interview and represent the school well.
I mean, not everyone wakes up with a basketball in their hands either....so should schools hold raffles to make their teams or should they give up enough of their time to find the best athletes to represent the school?
No one is saying it's his fault, but they should have at least found someone more enthusiastic and personable to not only make the interview more interesting, but to make the guests feel more welcome as well. - SOULEVENT, on 10/11/2007, -5/+1Digg me up if you think Colbert should have been CHALLENGED a little more with this question.
Q. Mr Colbert, you say that your only intention is to be a comedian and not to provide News to people, however, the majority of your work involves pointing out the disgraceful, stormtrooper mentality of people who would support this administration, therefore, are you saying that it is in no way your goal for people who are watching, that may support this administration, to see themselves in you and be disgusted for the way they have betrayed their country and their own "values"?
I must say, I was a little disappointed in some of his responses to his politics, and Im not quite sure I believe his response about ONLY trying to provide comedy, however, I guess it is important for him to maintain that silence, becuase if he went out and told the world he was attempting to DESERVINGLY shame the idiots that keep on defending the indefensable, he might become a heck of a larger target then he already is.
The imitation of papa bear when they met was priceless though...'it had to happen someday', 'watch your guest list'. - swoopdog, on 10/11/2007, -5/+1I dont like this one bit
nope thats just my 2 cents. - rhettnyedotorg, on 10/11/2007, -6/+2OMG this is my number one.
- TheAkolyte, on 10/11/2007, -10/+6That "lady" in the pink suit sounds like she was just violently raped with a beer bottle.
- CodeCobalt, on 10/11/2007, -9/+4lol, MIT is definitely not a party school. My fraternity house there, 2 out of 40 smoke, 17 of them don't drink at all, theres only like 7 that actually party it up... and from what i've seen and heard... All of MIT is like that.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -7/+2So old....so very very old
