- joenuck89, on 11/15/2009, -2/+95Why do I feel like the $90,000+ tree house doesn't fit with the rest of the list?
- aoio, on 11/15/2009, -16/+94I half expected MacBooks to be on here.
- Hellicus, on 11/15/2009, -1/+48If I had the money, I'd buy that tree house too.
- alo81, on 11/15/2009, -1/+43How the ***** does a dog use a retinal scanner?!
- nmffffd9, on 11/15/2009, -1/+39the price of that car wash is more than double the value of my car..
- tedfor, on 11/15/2009, -2/+25That was a pretty disappointing list. I don't see how any of those products tell the world you're a rich dick. I was expecting to see some things like Roman Abramovich's anti-photograph laser shield on his yacht. You know, things that show you have money and also go to crazy lengths to exclude commoners from using them.
- Onion575, on 11/15/2009, -4/+24Macs are double the price of an equivalent PC. Thats why you're being dugg down.
- DrowSwordsman, on 11/15/2009, -2/+20Hey, The Lord of the Rings treehouse is awesome. Why is this guy hating?
- DulcetTone, on 11/15/2009, -0/+17The same way he uses a fire hydrant, probably.
- ReeferChiefer42, on 11/15/2009, -3/+18It's stupid, unnecessary ***** like this (other than that awesome LOTR treehouse) that makes rich people broke. Seriously, around half of the mega-lottery winners go into debt within a year or two because even though they're rich they still aren't living within their means. Not that I feel sorry for them, just makes me laugh.
- strangewill, on 11/15/2009, -2/+15It's the equivalent of spending $168 to wash my decade old Civic.
- guttersniper, on 11/15/2009, -8/+20Why are you being sarcastic? It's rich people spending money extravagantly that makes the world so interesting. That's freedom I would defend.
- DjOverEZ, on 11/16/2009, -3/+15Also, you're kind of a douche.
- steviesteveo, on 11/15/2009, -0/+10Agreed, buying a parking space is a perfectly understandable expense. No one would look at you weird if you bought a car to commute with, this is just buying somewhere to drive to.
I think it's just an example of how ridiculously overcrowded our cities are more than that rich people can be dicks. - achansen121, on 11/16/2009, -1/+11Bitch Please

Base model has a worse graphics card, but 1 you can upgrade that if you want, 2 you'd probably only need it for games, who plays games on a Mac? - mcosmi, on 11/15/2009, -0/+9apparently, you can.
- throwdini, on 11/15/2009, -1/+9Some of theses might be silly, but not the parking space. In places like Manhattan, parts of Boston, San Francisco, and Chicago to a lesser extent, parking is at a premium. I know in Beacon Hill, many of the homes do not have garages. Are you going to pay 5 million dollars for a home and then spend an hour every day looking for a spot or waiting for a monthly spot at a local garage to open up? There are far more ridiculous things to spend your money on.
- burningrobot, on 11/15/2009, -1/+9Melting Dane Cook has nothing to do with God getting his phone number back, it's just sort of a bonus.
- doshindude, on 11/15/2009, -1/+8How about the "I'm Rich" iPhone app?
- conan777kudo, on 11/15/2009, -1/+8***** happens
- kenlaw, on 11/15/2009, -0/+7Whole article should have been replaced with a picture of Nicolas Cage.
- mcosmi, on 11/15/2009, -1/+7you tell them, im gonna go spend some money on something i don't need. stop whining, and appreciate the materialism that is only nurtured in a capitalist society, you damn commie.
- Madsen, on 11/15/2009, -6/+12Interesting?! Try telling that to the 3 billion people who has to live off 1$ a day...which must cover medication, food, clothes, school etc etc.
- Khast, on 11/15/2009, -2/+8Psst, the cat wedding didn't go too well, both cats cheated during their honeymoon, and coincidentally broke up without telling you.
But hey, at least the cake was good.....mmmmmmm, cake. - AManWithNoName, on 11/15/2009, -1/+7How about the cost of having a supermodel cling naked to your back while you jetski?
- budboomer, on 11/15/2009, -4/+10I sorry Sanz, but how much money you have is none of my ***** business.
How much money I have is none of yours. - thavi, on 11/15/2009, -1/+7Cat. Wedding.
- thavi, on 11/15/2009, -0/+6must be rich to buy dragon age. Got it.
- Darthmaul4114, on 11/16/2009, -0/+5because its the only thing that isn't ***** crazy and is actually useful and pretty cool. not that 90k isn't expensive, but compared to everything else it makes sense
- atchon, on 11/15/2009, -0/+5That is pretty cool. For anyone interested in reading a slight bit more.
http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2009/09/russian-bil ... - voice2world, on 11/16/2009, -4/+8didn't expect cracked to be this ignorant.. the number 6 is pronouced as "setta" in arabic, which is close to the word "sett" which means a lady, or mrs, and that's why arab douches like it in thier phone or plate numbers ( man of the ladies) .. also because they think that "six" and "sex" are the same word, and try to imply they are getting lots of the latter.. it has nothing with the word "elah" .. nothing.. the writer just made that up .. i mean.. wow.. just wow.. i know about emblishing facts to make articles intresting.. but lying about how other languages pronounce numbers!! wtf! .. it's like me telling my arab folks: christians hate the number 666, because 6 in english is prounced as "muslim"! , they hate muslim!!!
- FrankieAngels, on 11/15/2009, -0/+4I like turtles
- corsair2112, on 11/15/2009, -4/+8It's not really a car wash when the guy is doing clearcoat restoration and what sounds like the best wax job money can buy. When you're driving a 250,000 car, is $12000 really a lot of money to keep the paint job as pristine as possible?
- steviesteveo, on 11/15/2009, -1/+5I think that's a big part of it - for people who aren't rich it seems even crazier that someone would spend $11,500 cleaning something that doesn't get very dirty. You really can't justify this as anything other than a way to spend money on your car, it's not really a sensible investment, it's not really for the purposes of making your car less dirty, it's just a "treat for your car" if you're rich.
Basically, if you're looking for a clear demonstration of how rich you are then putting your supercar that you keep in a garage on a waiting list for a 2 week deep cleaning that costs $11,500 sounds like a pretty strong signal. I think Cracked gave a good example.
It's really questionable if it's actually a good investment, "costing less than the car did" doesn't necessarily make it a better investment. I think you mean that the typical owners of $200,000 cars are more able to afford it, which isn't exactly the same thing. - sanzsolo, on 11/16/2009, -0/+4Who is saying I wouldn't? I was just explaining why us nerds think that that use of money is justifiable... I am a nerd too, you know...
- Rain12913, on 11/15/2009, -0/+4I literally just drove by the address of the building where that parking spot was located 20 minutes ago, and I can assure you that there is absolutely no parking anywhere near there. Like you said, it isn't uncommon for homes in the area to go for 5-10 million dollars, so paying 300k for a parking spot isn't necessarily a big deal given the type of money that these people spend and how valuable a parking spot is.
- rmxz, on 11/15/2009, -1/+5I don't see anything wrong with these.
IMHO it's nice to see people with a lot of money putting it back into the economy, rather than hording it.
And it's nice to see the top talents in niche skilled labor (say, the car wash guy; tree-house builder; or doghouse builder) well rewarded for their skills. - KMartSheriff, on 11/15/2009, -1/+4Exactly. Considering that you're getting a hardcore ***** cleaning/polishing/waxing/restoration + labor (which takes 2 weeks mind you) for cars that are upwards of $200,000, the price point seems like a pretty good investment.
Also remember that those cars are NOT daily drivers. Yes, a $11,500 carwash on your daily driver is ***** crazy. But most of these cars get driven very rarely or are collections pieces that sit in garages and whatnot. - steviesteveo, on 11/15/2009, -1/+4Admittedly, you can assume that your car has had the ***** cleaned out of it when you get it back after paying $12,000
- infinitus64, on 11/15/2009, -0/+3wouldn't that be little more north than a rectal scanner.
- Katana, on 11/16/2009, -0/+3If you want to see a write up of one of mr. dalton's details on a bugatti veyron, here's a nice forum thread.
http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.p ...
Most detailers think his work is overpriced, but it's still nothing less than excellent, you can find detailers that will do the same for about $1000-2000, Dalton's work just fills the overpriced niche. - ChromaVita, on 11/16/2009, -0/+3the price of that car was is probably about... 6 or 7 times the value of my car. Woohoo!
- steviesteveo, on 11/15/2009, -0/+3Absolutely, it's not even a question of how valuable the parking space is on its own - this could be the difference between being able to conveniently use your $10 million penthouse or not. (Which is an insane problem to have)
- sanzsolo, on 11/16/2009, -0/+3I am just enjoying how interesting the use of resources of the people who have them is! I mean, compassion is overrated, nothing says "Freedom" like the ability to build a monument to my gigantic ego.
- Rain12913, on 11/16/2009, -0/+3Also, about 20 minutes across the city in my neighborhood, a $300,000 condo might have an extra $20,000 added onto the price if there is a deeded parking space available on the property. Considering that the condos in the area where that $300,000 space was bought regularly go for $5 million+, it's clear that the difference is simply in the scale.
- Halsfield, on 11/15/2009, -0/+3Those are definitely elitist-***** friendly gifts, but not exactly something out of reach of the common person's wallet.
- Rudegar, on 11/16/2009, -0/+2got the hp tx1200 tablet combi hp for about the same price
too bad it's makes a lot of noise and gets a bit too hot to use as a tablet
and the wifi cards went mia - blankoblanko, on 11/15/2009, -4/+6You can't put a price on a good parking spot.
- nyxerebos, on 11/16/2009, -0/+2we are gathered here before God and some crazy people to join these two cats...
- xtc46, on 11/16/2009, -1/+3@Madsen
Would you rather live in a world that no matter how smart you are or how hard you work, you can never be any better off than the next guy?
I wouldn't. I like being able to work 70 hour work weeks and having a paycheck almost 3 times the size of my co-workers. I like having gone to college and know that my hard work has earned me more than that guy flipping burgers becasue he doesnt speak english. -
