- nunu4u, on 07/16/2008, -5/+150If Will decides to be a Scientologist, its his funeral. But establishing a school to pull kids into the cult goes too far.
- doiveo, on 07/16/2008, -1/+87It's already affected my choices.
- geoken, on 07/16/2008, -3/+78Money>Brains in Hollywood.
It's why scientology thrives. I don't think there is any other place in the world where people are both intelligent enough to earn fortunes and dumb enough to hand said fortunes over to a cult created by a guy who openly discussed it's fraudulent nature. - relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -1/+73THEY TOOK THE FRESH PRINCE? ***** YOU!
- virtualonliner, on 07/17/2008, -4/+63"the ideas of the Bible are 98 percent the same ideas of Scientology, 98 percent the same ideas of Hinduism and Buddhism."
I ***** take that as in insult to my religion to be compared to some ***** cult and even saying they are 98% same.
***** Scientology.
***** Will Smith for Scientology. - inactive, on 07/17/2008, -2/+60Didn't see Handcock because of this
- ZephyrNinety, on 07/17/2008, -0/+50He better not start makin' trouble in my neighborhood...
- HaMMeReD, on 07/17/2008, -2/+50You know, I've enjoyed will smiths career up until this point, but I feel no shame about boycotting his movies unless he drops the cult, and I think others should do the same.
If Scientology loses it's celebrities, or it's celebrities lose there influence it'll do massive damage to their cult. We need to show celebrities that even though Scientology might be extra nice to them, it's a bad career decision to be aligned in that way. - MaleMaldives, on 07/17/2008, -17/+64… … … … … … … … … „„–~-„„… … … … … … ..„–„„

That's $cientology's real goal, that and to whitewash L Ron Hubbard's embarrassing, and criminal past. The Co$ won't let legitimate studies be done to prove the actual effectiveness of study tech. They know it would never get accepted because it's really an indoctrination into their cult. This is Co$'s way of sneaking it in through the back door too get it taught to more kids.
- lonelily, on 07/16/2008, -1/+47I agree. I often find myself avoiding Tom Cruise movies.
- lukas88, on 07/17/2008, -4/+50For me, scientology has changed my life. It makes so much sense, and I recommend it to everyone. If you think about it, every religion is mistrusted at first, and scientology is no different. But some day it will prove its worth, like most religions have. I applaud the hard work of Tom Cruise and now Will Smith in spreading the good word around. I think that some of you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Just kidding, I just wanted to see what a pro-scientology comment sounded like on digg. - AshamedAmerican, on 07/17/2008, -1/+44* Downloading Hancock *
- mavar, on 07/17/2008, -1/+39umm... if it is so similar to christianity, hinduism and buddhism (98% indeed).. then why pay money to learn about it ?
- Syphon220, on 07/16/2008, -9/+46NOT BIG WILLEH!!!!!! THEY GOT TO HIM!?!?!? ***** YOU SCIENCE!!!!111ONE
- inactive, on 07/17/2008, -0/+36Nothing to do with this article but dugg because it's the first time I've seen it.
- sonicularulus, on 07/17/2008, -0/+30your statement is sad, but true. Will Smith is a great actor and is, i mean, can be a great influence to people. It's sad that he's placing ties and spreading the word of scientology to the younger community.
Sure, you can be a "student of all religions," but to spread the word of something that will ruin lives doesnt fall in what is known as "religion."
on a side note: stupid tom cruise. - elliotys, on 07/17/2008, -0/+28Uncle Phil is gonna be pissed off!!!
- inactive, on 07/17/2008, -1/+29Will Smith is one actor I like, and pretty much everybody likes. If he becomes a scientologist it's a big hit to his worldwide admiration and respect.
- AzureRise, on 07/17/2008, -1/+28Don't confuse scientology with science. Science is cool.
- inactive, on 07/16/2008, -0/+23I believe it has already affected many peoples' choices.
- 180andback, on 07/17/2008, -0/+23And mine as well. I like Will Smith, but my utter disgust for Scientology and the crimes they've perpetrated far outweigh any desire on my part to be entertained.
- axiomo, on 07/17/2008, -1/+23THIS is the type of organization he supports.
An organization that lies, extorts, and manipulates AS A MATTER OF POLICY. If the mafia were to start a religion, this would be it.
"Make Money! Make More Money! Make Other People Make Money! The Scientology Way!"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnUbdAw9V4Y&fmt=18 - JKAL, on 07/17/2008, -0/+20he says he is not a member, but he definitely is recruiting for them, which is far worse.
from Wikipedia "After finishing work on the film Hancock, Smith gave crew members gift cards for a Scientology personality test at any Church of Scientology center as a wrap present" - WTF?
you don't need a gift certificate for this test, they will practically beg you to do one of those tests if you are walking near the CO$ office. What was the crew got? nothing! they probably think "wow after all my hard work I have this gift certificate, it MUST have some value, I better go and use it."
I hope he is strong enough to break away from that CULT, as I once thought he was. - cl0n3x, on 07/17/2008, -0/+20Seed you leeching scumbag. *Downloading AND seeding Hancock*
- themastersb, on 07/17/2008, -0/+19Someone tried getting me to go see Hancock in theaters but I said that since I heard recently that Will Smith has been supporting $cientology that I'm boycotting his movies until further notice and instead am pirating them.
- inactive, on 07/17/2008, -0/+18What does Reptar have to do with $cientology or Will Smith?
- tep200377, on 07/17/2008, -1/+19***** you will smith!
- Scully1981, on 07/17/2008, -0/+17There's a fair stretch between Christianity and Scientology though.
- btschul, on 07/17/2008, -2/+18They should be more worried about how mank kid's lives he will ruin with that school than how his being a scientologist will affect his box office earnings.
- 180andback, on 07/17/2008, -2/+18He's contributing to a dangerous ideology which has committed offenses of an ethical and legal nature. I don't give a flying rat's ass how he carries himself.
- Exclip, on 07/17/2008, -0/+14I used to love the Fresh Prince, but now I find myself avoiding the show because of his Scientology ties. I don't know, i just can't watch it knowing that he's a scientologist.
- carbonfree314, on 07/17/2008, -0/+14REPTAR, REPTAR, gotta find that REPTAR!
Boy oh boy is he in trouble! - Turr, on 07/17/2008, -1/+15It's ashame to see another lost to Scientology.
Why must the rich find ridiculous ways to waste money? - jesusfish, on 07/16/2008, -2/+16Intelligence didn't earn them their fortunes.
- SMFB, on 07/17/2008, -2/+14will smith was one of my favorite actors......cant believe this, his career is over just like tom cruise.....and F**K that guy.
- MrTito, on 07/17/2008, -0/+12Bravo.
- inactive, on 07/17/2008, -1/+12You we are a geek in school were not you?
- lsumed, on 07/17/2008, -4/+15I don't see Will Smith movies, because he has the same corny personality in every role. I guess this is just a bonus.
- JKAL, on 07/17/2008, -0/+10The problem with CO$ is they trap people in, by recording their inner most "guilt" ridden feelings.
Every single person has some kind of guilt (skelton in the closet), but what one feels guilty about could be deemed complete innocent to others.
CO$ abuses this fear and traps them, so you might find that Cruise has confessed something that we all would laugh about, but to him it is the most painful guilt feeling experience and he has been brainwashed into thinking the only way to get rid of that feeling, is to achieve a level of knowledge in CO$ and then to leave this reality.
It is not about having money to find a valuable religion. It is about falling into your own insecurities, and most hollywood types are very insecure, that is why they are in that industry in the first place, they need to be assured that they did well and feed on the claps, ovations & papparrazi, that is why most do drugs to escape those insecure feelings when they do not get that feedback. - clickwir, on 07/17/2008, -0/+10Did you read the last paragraph of the article? He's opening a school to teach kids about his cult. ***** him.
- carbonfree314, on 07/17/2008, -0/+10Same here.
- DeathfireD, on 07/17/2008, -0/+10Oh you mean Scientology isn't the study of Science?
/end sarcasm - 180andback, on 07/17/2008, -1/+11*****.
- 180andback, on 07/17/2008, -1/+9Yes, brainwashing *is* an effective teaching method.
- brownspank, on 07/17/2008, -0/+8Killjoy.
- mlvassallo, on 07/17/2008, -0/+8Is there any chance in Smith just being an idiot and not really knowing what is behind Scientology?
- truspect0r, on 07/17/2008, -0/+7http://www.xenu.net
- TopherT, on 07/17/2008, -0/+7No one forced you to listen to Anonymous, they are trying an interesting and new tactic to try to disrupt a negative and harmful cult. More power to them as far as I'm concerned, if it doesn't work, well that teaches us something too.
- inactive, on 07/17/2008, -0/+7Faith in yourself is plenty, now go and do your best.
