- rdhogan7713, on 10/11/2008, -9/+222Wahlberg: “Uh, I didn’t think it was as funny as I’d hoped.” He just described every episode of SNL for the last 15 years.
- sockpuppets, on 10/11/2008, -20/+110Say hi to your mother for me, ok?
- i4mt3hwin, on 10/11/2008, -15/+96I didn't think it was funny at all tbh. So i pretty much agree with Wahlberg.
- godmode, on 10/11/2008, -1/+54he always seems like he's pissed
- porque, on 10/11/2008, -12/+51Samberg did a great job imitating him but it just wasn't a funny skit

- Escamotage, on 10/11/2008, -9/+42"Hey chicken. How's it hanging? A lot of people want to eat you, but I just wanna talk to you, ok?"
- swik, on 10/11/2008, -5/+34Mark Wahlberg is awesome. He doesn't seem pissed, it just seems like he's being perfectly honest.
Think about it this way, the funny part of the skit is the imitation of Mark's voice, not the actual content. It wasn't like it parodied the way he acts or things he does. It's not like he could chuckle and say "haha yeah, I do say/do that a lot", because he doesn't. People never have a great grasp as to how they come across to others so it seems natural that he wouldn't find much humorous about this impression. - gcnaddict, on 10/11/2008, -3/+27Wow, I thought I was the only one that shared that sentiment.
- hollywoodphony, on 10/11/2008, -14/+35I don't know, I'm not buying it, he seems like he's actually pissed.
- TimeIsTissue, on 10/11/2008, -4/+23refreshingly honest guy. he just went up a few notches.
- staticneuron, on 10/11/2008, -0/+17Whalberg's right. It isn't funny.
- getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -0/+15Scotty D, break it down!
- edelay, on 10/11/2008, -1/+13Nah! Then only United Staters can see it. Bah humbug.
- mlvassallo, on 10/11/2008, -1/+13Waaaat? He didn't sound pissed. He sounded like he was commenting on a guy doing a bad impression of him.
***** MTV. - 3Den, on 10/11/2008, -3/+14Seems pretty straightforward to me.
It wasn't very funny. - morgrar, on 10/11/2008, -3/+13the description made it seem like he was genuinely upset/angry about it. he's like 'whatever' about it and says the catch phrase anyway. mark wahlberg is awesome.
- Asianwaste, on 10/11/2008, -3/+12A lame sketch with a 1-dimensional joke.
- 5xSTUN, on 10/11/2008, -3/+12The people who are currently writing for SNL don't appear to have a clue of what comedy actually is, or what the difference is between doing an impersonation of a celebrity and doing a FUNNY impersonation of a celebrity.
Kevin Pollak impersonating Christopher Walken == funny (there are jokes in the bit, and he stops before it gets tiresome.)
SNL's entire cast impersonating Christopher Walken, one after the other == painfully unfunny (no jokes, just endless agonizing minutes of slicked-back hair, stiff movements, monotone delivery, and a baffling disregard for the fact that a guy who looks and acts like Christopher Walken because he's supposed to be Christopher Walken's cousin is not going to have a wife who looks and acts just like Christopher Walken as well.) - inactive, on 10/11/2008, -0/+9That's crazy!
I'm Brian Fellows. - RodBorn, on 10/11/2008, -10/+19SPOT ON!
Has Mark Walhberg become the new Christopher Walken for comedians?
...say hi to yer mutha for me. - godmode, on 10/11/2008, -3/+11damn MTV blocking videos to outsiders
- joelbranstein, on 10/11/2008, -3/+11The skit was just an excuse for Samberg to pull off an excellent impression. The skit was an abstraction of a caricature of Wahlberg who often comes off as a bit of a village idiot in pretty much everything he does. Samberg is always creating skits that don't have a punch line. There is merit to his attempts at evolving sketch comedy which has become very stale since the early '90's.
- gr00vy, on 10/11/2008, -0/+8One of the first things I noticed when I got a TiVo is stuff that is really funny after 11:30 at night, isn't so funny in the daytime.
- groovychk, on 10/11/2008, -1/+8Yeah that pretty much covers it.
- ShoulderKnight, on 10/11/2008, -6/+12This was the best skit in a long time. Not sure why so many are putting it down.
- phyx726, on 10/11/2008, -2/+8I believe having someone do impersonations of you is one of the greatest compliments (unless you're Palin), but they all can't be classics.
- Jorge777, on 10/11/2008, -6/+12I didn't find it all that funny either and I thought I was missing something because I never remembered a movie where he'd say "Say hi to your mother for me" a lot
- xSledgewick, on 10/11/2008, -0/+5No, he's not...
And movies he's involved in are actually pretty awesome most of the time. The Departed, Shooter, I Heart Huckabees, The Italian Job. All amazing. - mtnlion2, on 10/11/2008, -2/+7I thought this skit was the highlight of that episode. Wahlberg's reactions to the interview questions were honest, I like him more now, almost makes up for "The Happening"
- barryiggins, on 10/11/2008, -4/+9no matter what happens, you're still Marky Mark to me
- cJw314, on 10/11/2008, -1/+6no, reddevild, it's not.
- 1longtime, on 10/11/2008, -2/+7I like absurd comedy.
- MacGyver2210, on 10/11/2008, -0/+5Dugg for '***** MTV'.
- gn0stik, on 10/11/2008, -1/+6No, Christopher Walken is still the Christopher Walken for comedians. Second, Chris actually participated in most of the skits that made it so funny. The international, more cowbell etc. Lastly, as others have said here, it just wasn't that funny. I chuckled a bit, but definitely not LOL-worthy. Besides, anyone who's seen any interviews of Mark, say about one of his projects, or movies, he's actually a really smart dude, and the skit makes it look like he's a one track idiot.
- sdigroup, on 10/11/2008, -1/+5I wonder if the Funky Bunch likes it??
- SpectralSounds, on 10/11/2008, -1/+5Every once in a while they do something funny. Its few and far between though. I didnt think this impression was all that great either. Every once in a while it was dead on... but only for a second. Big surprise.
- vbullinger, on 10/11/2008, -0/+4Donnie D's on the backup
Drug-free, so put the crack up - getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -1/+5Apparently it's Donnie D break it down...............
- DephexTwin, on 10/11/2008, -0/+4"at a guy who looks and acts like Christopher Walken because he's supposed to be Christopher Walken's cousin is not going to have a wife who looks and acts just like Christopher Walken as well."
Are you for real? - spaceman84, on 10/11/2008, -0/+3No, the movie was utter ***** anyway.
- Asianwaste, on 10/11/2008, -0/+3Every once in a while they do something funny. Its few and far between though.
Agreed, but it's not at the rate where I can consider the show entertaining enough to dedicate my Saturday night with. It used to be a great show where you can have it on while you hang around some friends. Now whenever we do that, we sound like grouchy old men heckling the TV. Since I hate feeling old, I'll just accept that the show went to hell and I moved on. - inactive, on 10/11/2008, -0/+3not in about 15 years, no
- moisie, on 10/11/2008, -2/+5It was a god enough impression to make you realise who he was supposed to be doing and there were enough elements of what he said (and how he said them) that invoked how he talks, as well as a couple of kind of out there enough to be funny enough to make the idea worthwhile, but then he just repeated it again and again. I can see room for this to be good but Samberg just didn't go anywhere with it.
- woofers07, on 10/11/2008, -1/+4I just watched The Happening lastnight, and this sketch pretty much ruined the movie for me.
- elliam, on 10/11/2008, -0/+3The sketch seemed like an excuse to practice a new impression. Who knows where the "talking to animals" came from.
- B3000, on 10/11/2008, -0/+3He's not upset. Did you even read the article or watch the interview?
- 5xSTUN, on 10/12/2008, -0/+2I didn't want to have to be the one to say it, but now that you did, I'm going to jump in and say that I agree... Tina Fey is one of the most overrated personalities in the history of television. I really don't think anything she's ever done has been particularly good. I mean, she's a smart woman, and I'm sure she works hard, but she pales in comparison to someone like Connie Booth.
And yet everyone seems to be hailing her as a comic genius. Well, if Tina Fey is considered the pinnacle of comedy these days, American comedy has fallen very, very far. - MacGyver2210, on 10/11/2008, -1/+3That, and randomness does not equal funny. Randomly saying nonsense to farm animals isn't funny, and adding a poor impersonation of a celebrity to that doesn't help. If they had, for instance, been on a subway or something, it could've been much funnier to watch.
- OneNaturalOne, on 10/11/2008, -2/+4sketch needs more funny
