- TroubleInMind, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9I find Corddry tedious. He seems like he is trying so hard. I want to like the guy. I wish I could. There is no raised eyebrow or smirk about him. His cynicisms seem scripted by someone else. Which is not to say they are not, because I'm sure they are, of course. It's the delivery. Colbert and Stewart also pitch material scripted by others, they have writers but they take that material, embellish with their own style and sense of flow, and own it. When Samantha Bee ad-libs in the ambush interviews, she misses the mark sometimes but I feel it's genuinely her, and her hits are high quality.
Corddry is like a puppy that desparately wants to please you but doesn't know how, so he starts repeating ***** he heard from the big kids that were smoking behind the gym.
