- Th3Kyle, on 02/22/2009, -0/+57What? Only one video? Where are the rest? I don't come to digg so I in turn need to search through youtube to fill in the blanks on top 10 lists...
- floodman, on 02/22/2009, -3/+42The author of this piece comes off as a gigantic *****.
- stevenbrown, on 02/22/2009, -2/+30James Cameron is not king of the world
- StevesJobs, on 02/22/2009, -1/+27Internet journalism at its worst.
- quisph, on 02/22/2009, -0/+21I think people make too much of that. I think he meant it in the same spirit as the character who said it in "Titanic." Just as an expression of pure joy and exhilaration. Not as some kind of ego trip.
- darwinwins, on 02/22/2009, -4/+22CITY SLICKERS WON AN OSCAR FOR SOMETHING? My world view is forever shattered.
- Janv1er, on 02/22/2009, -2/+19So being very happy is shameful now?
Seems like someone is trying to compensate for their own lack of happiness by spitting on others.. - dialectical, on 02/22/2009, -0/+14
This is how you accept an award:

- Bloodwine, on 02/22/2009, -4/+15Do people actually watch this Hollywood circle jerk?
- mikebb79, on 02/22/2009, -0/+10Can't say I see anything wrong with Gwyneth Paltrow's speech for them to list it at number one. Winning an Oscar and beating out other great actors in your category shows that you are at the top of your game as an actor.(At least in the Academy's eyes) All she did was thank a bunch of family members and cast members. Where's the problem?
- godzillaWax, on 02/22/2009, -2/+11Halle Berry, by far, for being so self-involved as to think she was some sort of pioneer or civil rights icon. Poitier giving that speech? Fine. But ***** Catwoman pretending she's broken down some insurmountable wall? ***** that.
- lepetitmousse, on 02/22/2009, -2/+11not sure what you are trying to say about marisa tomei with that comment, but she was great in my cousin vinnie
- aaabbbsss, on 02/22/2009, -1/+9First of all, who creates a list like this with only ONE video as evidence out of the 10? Second, who creates a list like this with such a careless use of the english language? Buried for lame.
- yahoofrom, on 02/22/2009, -1/+8I know that because James Cameron is not me.
- gidd, on 02/22/2009, -0/+7Halle Berry gave an great acceptance speech a few years later at the Razzies, which made up for the Oscar speech:

- Escmymind, on 02/22/2009, -1/+8Top Ten Top Ten Digg front page stories?
- vat0r, on 02/22/2009, -7/+12Top Ten "Insert something here" = Digg front page.
- inactive, on 02/22/2009, -3/+8Embarrassing? Far from it.
- inactive, on 02/22/2009, -0/+5Of course he is.
WHO ELSE HAD THE SPECIAL EFFECTS TECHNOLOGY/HOLOGRAMS TO MAKE FAKE PHONE CALLS FROM THE PLANES ON 9/11? JAMES CAMERON PROFITS FROM THE TRADGEDY MORE THAN ANYONE! WAKE UP! - TheBlueVulcan, on 02/22/2009, -0/+5I agree-it's painfull obvious it's tongue-in-cheek.
- WhoDoneIt, on 02/22/2009, -0/+4Couldn't agree more. And since that moment, I can't stand watching her in movies because of that night.
- TWiThead, on 02/22/2009, -1/+5The account of the Tom Hanks speech is misleading. The quotation is inaccurate (Hanks referred to his drama teacher and a classmate as "two of the finest gay Americans."), and while the teacher had not publicly stated that he was gay, he didn't object to the acknowledgment.
Perhaps the article's author is confusing reality with the film "In & Out" (which this incident inspired).

- TomRemixed, on 02/22/2009, -0/+3People confused by way you write to them in comment form.
Let it be heard that we great people do not know what you speak of.
pity you.
We must be racist because we bury comment by Indian person.
of course - Janv1er, on 02/22/2009, -0/+3She committed the horrendous act of crying !
- leif77, on 02/22/2009, -0/+3wtf...
- BrokenVisage, on 02/22/2009, -0/+3Swim into my ocean. Oh, and Slumdog is incredibly overrated and better not win Best Picture.
- bigballaboi, on 02/22/2009, -0/+2cuba gooding jr's speech was awesome, whoever wrote this is a fag
- RandomRage, on 02/22/2009, -0/+2You forgot the quote marks over 'journalism'
- Rachelhenke, on 02/22/2009, -1/+3How very negative. I was expecting something more entertaining.
- godzillaWax, on 02/22/2009, -2/+4Hattie won for Best Supporting Actress; Berry was the first black winner of Best Actress.
So clearly Halle Berry is like Rosa Parks, and is entitled to a self-righteous pronouncement of her own importance in civil rights. - kkeut, on 02/22/2009, -1/+3when were the oscar awards ever relevant?
- Gondring, on 02/22/2009, -0/+2lol
- mike23w, on 02/22/2009, -0/+2Yes, if it's Halle Berry or Gweneth Paltrow giving it.
- Benjigga, on 02/22/2009, -0/+2Thank you for posting a comment of a no comment.
You fail at commenting. - kkeut, on 02/22/2009, -1/+3i'm guessing you dont watch a whole lot of movies. slumdog isnt bad, but its nothing special either.
- orthodoxDrew, on 02/24/2009, -0/+2i'll look at her *****, tho.
- dittonara, on 02/22/2009, -4/+6James Cameron should be number one, his line at the end is the most embarrassing thing i have seen in a decade.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJp7Wd6Af2A - JEbel72, on 02/22/2009, -0/+2Thats not really embarrassing though is it? He did get to makeout with Halle Berry.
- Gnikcjack, on 02/22/2009, -0/+2Oh c'mon, Cuba Gooding Jr. as worst acceptance? It was one of the most sincere reactions I've ever seen. He was at the top of his career and honestly looked like he genuinely appreciated it. There was nothing arrogant or sappy about it, he was a kid on Christmas man. You don't find that anymore.
- mingusmingus, on 02/22/2009, -2/+3well, at the very least he's the king of kapuskasing, ontario.
- jehanr, on 02/23/2009, -0/+1I'll let it slide given he made Terminator 2.
- VdgX, on 02/22/2009, -2/+3Umm. Halle Berry was not the first African American woman to win an Oscar. Hattie McDaniel beat her to it by several decades.
- lornefs, on 02/22/2009, -0/+1That was fracken great!
- grendl2000, on 02/22/2009, -1/+2Dear author: The Oscars existed before you started watching them. Thanks for yet another "top 10" list created without any knowledge of the subject at hand.
- shailublog, on 02/23/2009, -0/+1And Now the results are Out
