- jaypee68, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I just read that article and the whole Darth Vader comment made no sense. This guy knows how it feels to have his mom kidnapped and killed by sandpeople, to fall in love with a beatiful girl, to travel down the dark path not knowing that you are personally responsible for it, to get your legs and arm cut off in a lightsaber duel, and then to be locked up in what is basically a suit that is an iron lung for the rest of his life after getting torched on a volcano planet?
I must have missed that part in the entire Star Wars saga where Darth Vader was a complete ass, and got kicked off the football team. - TheCount, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5It was in Episode II, after the credits. That's why you always sit through the credits, my friend.
- nwshc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4What a tard. He doesn't even take the time to read his own book to make sure it's right?
- sautter, on 06/21/2008, -0/+3T.O. committed the worse sin for an athlete in the eyes of fan - he appears greedy. That's right, he asked for more money from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Which recent Philadelphia athlete generates the most outrage from Philadelphia fans:
1. Ugueth Urbina, who currently sits in a Venezuela jail waiting to be tried for attempted murder.
2. Brett Myers, who just a few weeks ago allegedly beat his wife in public.
3. Terrell Owens, who over a year ago asked the Eagles for more money.
The correct answer is Terrell Owens.
Most Philadelphia fans could care less about Urbina. What Myers did was also wrong but most fans are more upset with the way the Phillies have mishandled the situation. I mean, the nerve of T.O. - this is America! How dare he ask to be paid what he thinks he's worth. Certainly asking for a raise is worse than murder and domestic abuse.
/sarcasm - greenjestur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3brett myer's ordeal has angered a lot of Philadelphians recently over the last few weeks ("I'm just sorry it became public"), but from Feb 2005 until he was suspended in Oct/Nov 2005, Owen's sparked a huge amount of controversy the way he went about getting a raise, which he attempted to do right after signing a 5 year contract. Backstabbing your quarterback, not speaking to your coaches (telling his offensive coordinator not to speak to him unless spoken to), not speaking to the media, not signing autographes for fans, sit-ups on his front lawn.
You might say Owens caused more outrage because he helped dismantle a super bowl team with his ridiculous antics, but any philadelphian would obviously say the worse of the 2 was Myers actions. - sautter, on 06/21/2008, -0/+2Is talking "bad about the team" and being suspended by the team on par with murder and domestic abuse?
- Dolomite, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Love him or hate him, but he sure gives us something to talk about.
- tyler1175, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1everybody doesn't hate him because he asked for more money everybody hates him because he went on espn interviews with his agent and talked bad about the team before the season started and then got kicked off the team 3 or 4 games into the season for being such an *****.
- dallen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not to defend TO, but if he had a co-author wouldn't it make sense that he would have some input? Otherwise what is the point of having one?
- Brightside, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Or in Baltimore. But unfortunately the Cowboys don't seem to be visiting this season.
- RJNavarrete, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1LOL, there's 81 diggs.
- minerva43, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Every time this guy opens his mouth, he loses money. He really shouldn't have any fans at this point. I'm from the Bay Area and I don't know anyone that stands up for him when a football debate starts up. All that aside, there is no way TO could actually write a book, much less half a book. Hmmm...how is he *misquoted* in his *autobiography*... quite a mystery when an autobiography is a book you write about yourself...I mean, I'd pay attention to the details about me in a book *I* wrote... There is no way TO had a hand in this. His co-author is basically a ghostwriter that TO kept around so he had someone to blame for any shameful quotes. TO has to find a way to keep his last five fans; keeping someone else around to point at must be the route he's taking.
- vanlandw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What a pompous spoiled crybaby. My least favorite athlete and makes me wish for the days when Barry Sanders would just hand the football to the ref after a touchdown. I personally hope he has a sub-par season so he can run his mouth some more and embarrass himself more then he already has. Horrid....
- PositiveVibes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well, after all is said and done, T.O. is not perfect. For the most part, he seems to be misunderstood. Let us all have an open mind, and hope for the best, that he will learn from his past mistakes, and soar to greater heights with the Dallas Cowboys.
Take care.... - VivaNiagara, on 02/05/2009, -0/+0Keep up with the Cowboys at http://www.dallascowboys-on-youtube.info/
- SlackerCSB, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2The guy is nuts, but atleast spell his name right. It's Terrell Owens.
- TheCount, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2At least someone understands the situation. I don't understand how T.O. is the devil for asking for what he believes he's worth. No one sends you hate mail when you ask for a raise at work, do they?
What most people fail to understand is that there are TONS of players in the NFL with egos as big as T.O. You think Peyton Manning doesn't think he's the *****? No one picketed when he got his insane contract, did they? And how many superbowls has he been to? - ShmoeTheHo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Don't forget that T.O.'s first year on a team is quite sweet, much like a honeymoon is. The Cowboys may have a good year. That is until Brian Dawkins takes one for the team and reinjures T.O.'s ankle. Seriously, barring an injury T.O. won't start any crap this year. That'll all happen next year.
Go Birds. - fats, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Speaking as a Philadelphian I agree wholeheartedly with greenjestur, and mydree.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I hope someone paralyzes him this season...preferably in Philly so people can cheer.
