I'm sad My Blue Heaven (77%) and Three Amigos (56%) didn't make the cut, critics suck. - GregFD3S, on 02/06/2009, -6/+41Buried for 5 ***** pages!
- palehorse864, on 02/06/2009, -0/+31He hates these cans!!... STAY AWAY FROM THE CANS!
- chrishaggardy, on 02/05/2009, -1/+31I agree. The Jerk definitely should be in the top 3 .. if not number 1.
- DeskFlyer, on 02/06/2009, -0/+28Planes, Trains and Automobiles will always be #1.
- thewordisberry, on 02/05/2009, -0/+26I'm picking out a thermos, for you...
- sbcea, on 02/05/2009, -0/+21'The Man With Two Brains' is #1 for me, followed by The Jerk.
'Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid' was a classic too. - Samwel, on 02/05/2009, -2/+21Jerk is good. Three Amigos is numero uno in my book. I have never even heard of the Spanish Prisoner. Atleast Cheaper by the Dozen 1 and 2 didn't make the list...
- TheKingInYellow, on 02/05/2009, -2/+19the jerk not in the number one spot? big mistake.
my top 3:
1. the jerk
2. la story
3. bowfinger - MacSuxWindozSux, on 02/06/2009, -0/+13Planes, Trains and Automobiles FTW
- BenTheTank, on 02/06/2009, -0/+11Good call Gooba, Three Amigos was awesome!
- adiggityam, on 02/06/2009, -0/+11It's not a personal list...
Rotten Tomatoes percentage rating indicates how many 'certified' critics gave it a positive review. The list is ordered by which of his films received the highest ratings using that scale.
Basically, this is just ten mediocre blurbs.
So like, no disagreeing with the 'choices.' Just call critics hacks. - inactive, on 02/06/2009, -0/+10An Unsung Steve Martin Gem: Leap of Faith
- CydonianKnight7, on 02/06/2009, -2/+112 results per page, really?
The Jerk is so low down man, and where the hell is "The Man With Two Brains"?
3. The Man With Two Brains
2. The Jerk
1. Trains, Planes and Automobiles - Falldog, on 02/06/2009, -1/+10Of course it all sort of goes out the window after he deflowered Peter Sellers' corpse.
- sbcea, on 02/05/2009, -1/+10Not an ordinary thermos for you
- h4nk3f4n, on 02/05/2009, -4/+12The Jerk at No. 9, are you kidding me? This list is a POS.
EOM - usafdave, on 02/06/2009, -0/+8I was born a poor black child
- getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -1/+9I gotta say, I always enjoyed My Blue Heaven.
- pitchblack16, on 02/05/2009, -4/+12I don't know about Bowfinger that was a terrible movie.
- RealmDown, on 02/06/2009, -0/+8His cameo in the original Muppet Movie was equally brilliant.
- TheKingInYellow, on 02/06/2009, -0/+7well, i'm a big fan of films about making films so i got a kick out of bowfinger. the immigrant workers sitting around a table discussing citizen kane alone was worth it...and not to mention the direct stab at scientology.
- minorthreat, on 02/06/2009, -0/+6Steve Martin can tear it up on a banjo
- tonycomp, on 02/06/2009, -1/+7Are you saying I could be *stuck* in Wichita?
...I'm saying you *are* stuck in Wichita. - gmiley, on 02/06/2009, -0/+6He's shooting at the cans! Get away from the cans!
- palehorse864, on 02/06/2009, -0/+6No ordinary thermos for youuuuu
- worseforwine, on 02/06/2009, -0/+6" Hold it right there El Guapo, or I'll fill you so full of lead, you'll be using your dick for a pencil"
"What does that mean?"
"I have no idea!" - BenTheTank, on 02/06/2009, -0/+5I wish Bowfinger had made the list.
"Gotcha Suckers!!" - 1ofMany, on 02/06/2009, -0/+5I may be the only person who loves "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid"
- TheKingInYellow, on 02/06/2009, -0/+5But the extra best thermos money can buy
- acid_jazz, on 02/06/2009, -0/+5Nothing will banana Planes trains and automobiles, it is in the top 5 funny movies of all time
- AmyVernon, on 02/05/2009, -1/+6I'm just trying to figure out how they arrived at these percentages? The Jerk is fantastic. Really don't quite understand this list.
- RealmDown, on 02/06/2009, -0/+5Critics are the people who come down from the mountain, after the war is over, and shoot the dead.
- UselessTrivia, on 02/06/2009, -0/+4Best movie I ever had to watch 4 times in Spanish during school.
- godofallcows, on 02/06/2009, -0/+4This is rotten Tomatoes.
People on it are idiots. - fictionalOne, on 02/06/2009, -0/+4Mr. Hfuhruhurr
- theISABELfish, on 02/06/2009, -0/+4And to think, he was born a poor black child.
- snurfle, on 02/06/2009, -0/+4Damn your drunk tests are hard!
- ancalagon73, on 02/06/2009, -0/+4"You're going the wrong way"
"How do they know where we're going?" - molochi, on 02/06/2009, -0/+4Bears beets Planes Trains and Automobiles.
- petebot, on 02/06/2009, -0/+4Dirty rotten Scoundrels is pretty good, but when I was a kid, we watched three amigos sooooooo many times. It's so good, Galaxy Quest ripped off its plot. The Jerk I got into in college, but three amigos is definitely my favorite for pure comedy. My Blue Heaven was great just because I think it's the only movie where he just goes balls out and plays a ridiculous character.
- 1jaxstate1, on 02/06/2009, -0/+3The Jerk should be #1. I always thought that's where they got the idea for Forest Gump.
- uptown, on 02/06/2009, -0/+3No *****. Talk about stealing someone else's work and remaking a movie that didn't need to be remade.
- Linguo, on 02/05/2009, -1/+4Agreed on the first 2.
- Andrew0568, on 02/06/2009, -0/+3"you mean i'm gonna STAY this color?!"
- jordanlgta, on 02/06/2009, -1/+4Father of the Bride is underrated. It's not perfect, but people sometimes talk about it like it wasn't a good movie...and then they go and watch it once or twice a year...
- Temujin64, on 02/06/2009, -0/+3I'vw always said, Trains, Planes and Automobiles is both Martin's and Candy's best film.
- markgl, on 02/06/2009, -1/+4Three Amigos man! I haven't seen half of those other movies.
Cawww, Cawww. Whoop, Whoop, look at me look at me! Hey GUYS!!! - SirBruce, on 02/06/2009, -0/+3The Spanish Prisoner is highly recommended. Also watch Glengarry Glen Ross. House of Games, well, not so much, but essential watching if you're into Mamet's work.
