- designashirt, on 07/09/2009, -1/+19Phoenix New Times basically reporting a Facebook group? What's the next headline?
"Man to donate $1 to charity once 1,000 people join his group" - ml4rocky, on 07/09/2009, -2/+18Even if this item is invented, it's better than 98% of what's on Digg now.
- joaob, on 07/09/2009, -1/+16Franken is a comedian turned politician, Colbert is a comedian who acts like a raging right wing pundit.
I don't see the connection. - TobiasParker, on 07/09/2009, -1/+14He always gives entertaining speeches, I wish he would answer questions, he is best at improv.
- Lederhosed, on 07/09/2009, -2/+8That would be awesome. Especially given how conservative Arizona is.
- smartnerd666, on 07/09/2009, -2/+6Everybody knows petitions on facebook have never changed anything.
- foodtimeagain, on 07/09/2009, -0/+4The picture is from his 2006 commencement address at Knox College. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOqpvsJJEmk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ky7DWlGTyhI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyAw_GL237Y

well what about the old facebook bac......uhh....
okay yeah....nothin... - KuJo6784, on 07/09/2009, -0/+3He gave the commencement speech at the Medical University of South Carolina this year and it was funny and heartfelt. He was kind of in and out of his persona because he was reminiscing about his dad's work and his childhood. I think he's gonna be awesome at ASU.

That stigma was earned via the 3 frat idiots they interviewed. It's a state school with 55,000 students. Nobody gets denied. At ASU, rather than dumbasses getting denied entry, the dumbasses just don't get scholarships. The three guys they interviewed are at the bottom of the bell curve. Everyone else on campus just facepalmed over and over again. Facepalmed at us not giving Obama an honorary degree, facepalmed when the media got ahold of it, and facepalmed so hard we saw stars when The Daily Show did a story on us. We didn't even have to watch it. We knew how dumb some people on campus are.
It's like those videos that try to show Americans are really stupid. They ask a thousand people questions and cut together the three people who can't point to Australia.
@Lederhosed
Arizona is not conservative. Arizona is McCain's home state and he won it 55/45. If someone else were running in his place, Arizona would be a blue state. Our state is very low tax, though. We got labelled among the dumbest states in the union based on education funding, because the state is almost always run by a Republican congress (Democratic governors, though). There are as many conservatives here as any other swing state. - GeneHoglan, on 07/09/2009, -0/+2They aren't racist just because of what happened with Obama...
Not everything slightly disadvantageous to a black person is racist, don't you have any idea what reverse racism is? - bugerking3, on 07/09/2009, -1/+3I was sort of hoping he'd be belittling the University of Phoenix graduates.
Oh goodness, I just googled "university", and the first suggestion was "university of phoenix".
So yeah, Colbert would have a field day with them. - Turkman182, on 07/09/2009, -3/+5I love this guy. Really! I love him.
- 5ean, on 07/09/2009, -3/+5He's speaking to educated college students, they're probably not as conservative as the rest of Arizona.
- rjc5056, on 07/09/2009, -1/+3Actually, ASU is often considered one of the dumbest state schools in the country. Daily show even did a piece interviewing some of their students a while back and it was painful to watch the stupidity. So I wouldn't count too much on their "education" in this instance.
- Albumen, on 07/09/2009, -1/+3Have you been to college? OMG some of the most conservative nutjobs out there are in college.
- thatsgoodkarma, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1"I wonder is the ASU is yet another.."
I don't believe you're in any position to be criticizing a school. - CoconutKC, on 07/10/2009, -1/+2what the heck is so great about ASU?
- RyCon5, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1Colbert would be AWESOME at ASU!
Yeah ASU accepts "everyone" (it's more of not excluding students, if you make the requirements you'll get in) but everyone doesn't get a degree. - BearKill, on 07/10/2009, -1/+2I heard how funny/great Colbert was from a few people so I gave his show a try a couple times. I don't get what people see in this guy. I am opposed to most of what Jon Stewart stands for, but at least I recognize he is quite funny. Colbert does nothing for me.
- GnomeProfit, on 07/09/2009, -4/+5Why the ***** does ASU get all the cool speakers? It's a half step above community college filled primarily by drunk jocks. Earth to leaders, please come to nerd schools like Carnegie Mellon and RPI. =(
- ivanmarsh, on 07/09/2009, -1/+1Yes... yes he did, but not quite as much as the students unknowingly eviscerated themselves in the interviews they did.
- AmyVernon, on 07/09/2009, -4/+4Arizona's not as conservative as people think. It's more Libertarian than anything else.
- Albumen, on 07/09/2009, -3/+3That statement says ten times more about you than it does Colbert.
You are either:
A.) a rabid right-winger with no sense of humor
B.) a rabid left-winger too stupid to see through his schtick - inactive, on 07/09/2009, -3/+3Someone youtube it please.
- inactive, on 07/10/2009, -1/+1Ben doesnt have problems doing comedy, he has that knack for dead pan comedy similar to the way Steven Wright does.
- Albumen, on 07/09/2009, -1/+1Ben Stein? As in former Nixon speechwriter Ben Stein? He actually has creds.
- FarcicalFart, on 07/09/2009, -1/+1Apparently you've never heard of ASU.
- GeneHoglan, on 07/10/2009, -0/+0Hahahahahaha you take colbert seriously, enough said.
- ivanmarsh, on 07/10/2009, -0/+0You obviously didn't see the Colbert interviews with the ASU students. Don't make stupid assumptions.
- ivanmarsh, on 07/09/2009, -4/+3Good... I hope he's as merciless about their racist school in their commencement as he was on his show. I wonder is the ASU is yet another group that doesn't understand what sarcasm and irony are.
- rabidjester, on 07/09/2009, -4/+3Didn't Colbert totally eviscerate this school during the Obama degree media frenzy?
Edit: Maybe it's this I'm thinking of, but I thought Colbert nailed them too. http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/tue-may-12-2009/ ... - inactive, on 07/09/2009, -1/+0you're a ***** nose.
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -3/+2Franken *was* an ass clown, he's a senator now.
Tho speaking of political ass clowns, I think someone should put some money into making a comedy show starring Al Franken, David Letterman, Tina Fey, Ben Stein, Dennis Miller, James Belushi & the re-animated corpse of Sam Kinison. - Stevanoski, on 07/08/2009, -27/+15He is an arse clown if there ever was one, well, Franken too.
