- robisfunky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4 Simon rolled his eyes at Chris' lame attempt to garner positive audience favor by consoling the VA Tech familes/friends. He was right to do so. I'm sure it was brought up pre-show. Did you notice NO ONE else offered their thoughts on the situation? Simon should have called him out on it, not just roll his eyes. It is a much too important and sensitive situation to use as a way to get a couple extra votes. Way to keep it real, Simon!
- rjprux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Whether or not Chris meant it the way it came out, I do not know. But it sure did seem like he was trying to spin-off his bad review by consoling the VA Tech families. What Simon did was wrong, but I don't think he should be crucified for this mistake.

I mean come on...I rolled my eyes when he did it. Simon isn't disrespecting the tragedy, he's rolling his eyes because he sees through the attempt Chris makes to win over the crowd. Its a total joke. I actually have more respect for Simon Cowell now. Strange.

Simon's comment "On a more serious note, just to pick up on what Ryan said, on behalf of the three of us, we would also like to offer our best wishes and support to the families of this tragedy as well.” seemed very rushed.. and seemed like spin control to me. Simon is usually very cool and concise in his speech... when he delivered that message he was NOT.
