- stevea1210, on 06/23/2008, -3/+121Surprisingly, there were some rappers / hip hop acts in the list...
- chocobomog, on 06/23/2008, -6/+68This list can be broken down into three sections:
Political assassinations: JFK, RFK, MLK Jr., Abe Lincoln, etc
Tragic Celebrity deaths: Phil Hartman, Selena, Marvin Gaye. etc
Rappers
There's something tragic about that... - suntzusputnik, on 06/23/2008, -0/+33franz ferdinand didn't take a bullet, a bullet took him
- Apokalyps2547, on 06/23/2008, -1/+29Where's Alexander Hamilton? He was kiled in the most famous duel in US history!
- socialpyramid, on 06/23/2008, -1/+24Diverse list, several I didn't know about.
- brianpipa, on 06/23/2008, -0/+23I would have liked to have only seen people that had been shot but not killed by the shot (ie - they lived to tell the tale)
- ADIDAS247, on 06/23/2008, -2/+23The guy from Grey's Anatomy was a suprise. Apparently he has a problem with "popping his mouth" off

SNOOZE - yosserhughes, on 06/24/2008, -0/+17There seemed to be an inordinate number of black dudes staring into the camera trying to look mean.
- ohnoerino, on 06/23/2008, -0/+17The rappers and presidents were obvious. But this one was interesting...
*Olympic sprinter- Female that turned out to be male* 1980-Walsh was killed by a stray bullet when he/she was a bystander in an armed robbery in Cleveland, Ohio. Autopsy reports showed that she possessed male genitalia but some sources claim she also displayed some female characteristics. The investigation showed that she had both XX and XY pair chromosomes. - namelessXsilent, on 06/24/2008, -1/+17RIP Dimebag
- chaoswings, on 06/24/2008, -1/+16Does anyone find it odd that one of them decided to become a rapper after being shot?
- matt247, on 06/23/2008, -0/+14Brandon Call is famous?
- blackdrivel, on 06/23/2008, -1/+15Tupac is on the list - #40
- lundeja, on 06/23/2008, -0/+13There were also a few no-brainers.
- blackdrivel, on 06/23/2008, -1/+13Tupac is on the list - #40
- yellowswan, on 06/24/2008, -1/+13Where's Lil Wayne? He shot himself in the chest with a .44 magnum…
- yersoocrust, on 06/24/2008, -0/+11Andrew Jackson? His story of being shot is the best.
"Jackson challenged Dickinson to a duel very much according to the customs of the time in the south. Dickinson, known as one of the best shots in Tennessee if not the best, had choice of weapons and chose pistols.
Dickinson fired the first shot, which broke two of Jackson's ribs and lodged two inches from his heart. Dickinson then had to stand at the mark as Jackson, clutching his chest, aimed slowly and shot him fatally.
Though acceptable by the code of the times, many people considered it a cold-blooded killing. I presume the rules of engagement were for each man to draw and fire at the same time, upon hearing the signal, but if one fired, there was no "second round" until the other man fired. The implication is that magnanimity would have required Jackson to fire into the air rather than taking a slow deliberate aim at 24 feet. " - JSager, on 06/24/2008, -0/+10Mozart went to his grave swearing that he was poisoned.
- LinkGCN4, on 06/23/2008, -3/+13you're a *****
- PresRob, on 06/23/2008, -4/+14Not a single scientist or Software designer on the list.
- xtraa, on 06/23/2008, -1/+11Old Dirt Bastard smiles like the overwhelming prosperity of the american healthcare system.
- warpsmith, on 06/24/2008, -0/+10"Theodore Roosevelt: shot in the chest but the bullet first passed through both his steel eyeglass case and his 50 page speech. He went on to deliver the 90-minute speech and carried the bullet, which was three inches in his chest, for the rest of his life."
TDR was one tough bastard. - Mononuclear, on 06/24/2008, -0/+8It is hilarious that not only do these people not read the article but they also don't bother to read the comments of the other 3 people asking about tupac...
- wes00mertes, on 06/23/2008, -0/+8He didn't bother to read that far.
- solid12345, on 06/24/2008, -0/+8Because they settle their differences by slapping each other with the palms of their hands.
- Mast3rDigg3r, on 06/23/2008, -1/+9that's because it's entitled "50 Famous People Who Have Taken A Bullet" not "50 Joe Shmoes.."
- perrym, on 06/24/2008, -6/+14too many rappers - buried
- scairborn, on 06/24/2008, -0/+8So basically this is just the DefJam Records roster?
- solid12345, on 06/24/2008, -0/+7Can we get this list in bullet points?
- beezneez, on 06/24/2008, -0/+6Too many rappers I've never heard of. If you want a list of famous people, make sure they are famous beyond their fan base or have some sort of historical significance.
- Dumbledorito, on 06/23/2008, -1/+7"Alan Berg."
Who?
*looks at photo*
What? - theword12, on 06/24/2008, -0/+6Booth: "He had tried to run away but was found and fatally shot in the neck – paralyzing him."
Yes, being fatally shot does lead to paralysis. - inactive, on 06/24/2008, -0/+6What the hell... Che Guevara was shot...
in the THORAX? - Mononuclear, on 06/24/2008, -1/+6classical composers don't deal drugs and aren't members of gangs nor hang out with people who deal drugs and are members of gangs.
- Pake, on 06/24/2008, -1/+6Kurt Cobain anyone? Either he shot himself or Courtney did it, but he deserves to be on that list.
- tokabowla, on 06/24/2008, -1/+6Although nobody deserves to be shot, most of these people were involved in dangerous situations/people/political positions. And a lot are still alive.
Dime was shot & killed w/ 3 others on stage in front of his fans.
Definitely one of the most ***** up shootings on this list. - Harbinger67, on 06/24/2008, -1/+6Really? They're usually a peaceful bunch.
- ryusen, on 06/24/2008, -0/+5i dunno if Lincoln were still alive i'd be kinda freaked out...
- yosserhughes, on 06/24/2008, -0/+5I don't know, the Big O would have a hard time looking mean. Would be fun though, put on a hoodie and make gang signs during the inaugural address.
- yyz_, on 06/24/2008, -0/+4Me too. I also would have liked this to be more of a "50 famous people who you probably didn't know were shot". I mean seriously, Martin Luther King and JFK ?
- justz00t, on 06/24/2008, -1/+5I think lifestyle is far more likely the source of causation than race is this example.
- forceuser, on 06/24/2008, -1/+5I just lost the game.
- pikpikcarrotmon, on 06/24/2008, -0/+4Like JFK. Pow! No brains!
... too soon? - pensivewombat, on 06/24/2008, -1/+5Ummm any list that includes the dude from Step by Step, Abraham Lincoln, and Ol' Dirty Bastard is worthy of a digg.
- SilverBlade2k, on 06/24/2008, -3/+7Funny how most of them are rappers....you'd never see a Classical composer get assassinated..
- seanc6610, on 06/24/2008, -1/+5why the ***** would you wish that on someone? especially someone you don't even know.
- ru1dt, on 06/24/2008, -0/+4Composers get syphilis
- Niightwitch, on 06/24/2008, -0/+4Teddy Roosevelt was a real man....shot in the chest and still went on to deliver a 90-minute speech.
- inactive, on 06/24/2008, -0/+3The story behind his assasination is funny as hell. He was killed by the biggest bunch of ***** ever. One of tried to posion himself but the poison had gone moldy so he threw it back up, so instead he decided to drown himself by jumping in a river, but it was only a few inches deep.
