Seth Rogen's Advice On 'The Daily Show': Smoke More Weed watch!

huffingtonpost.com — Rogen cowrote the movie and stars in it, and as he told Jon Stewart, his advice to high school kids is to drop out of school, smoke a ton of weed, and then write a movie about it. That was his path to success.

      I think it's unfair to deem someone's life as idiotic when compared to others. Would Seth Rogen's life have been better if he decided to try to climb the corporate ladder of America and not become famous? No one would know who he is and he would probably not be making as much money as he does now. He'd be "just another one" and without fame to his name.

      I believe Rogen is rather original because he's taking on his childhood dream and he's sticking to it. He's among less than 1% of the population that is actually achieving their original plan. He doesn't change what he believed in just when it gets difficult. He's changing how people perceive potsmokers and in the process, he's liberating stoners from the negative connotations that oppress this subculture. Well maybe not completely, but his effort doesn't go unnoticed. He's continuing the saga of bringing marijuana use to the mainstream media.

      Without people like Rogen, potsmokers all around the world would be afraid to be who they want to be or embrace who they are just because of the fact society frowns down on potheads.

      For that, I support his cause and oppose anyone that disagrees.

How do you see him as changing how people perceive potsmokers? The only positive aspect he puts forth is that he got rich as an actor. That is not an achievable goal for many people, let alone many potheads. It's not like he went on and said "yes, even though I smoke recreationally, I still manage to productively manage a staff of 40 individuals on a weekly basis" or "I command a platoon of soldiers" or "I still manage more breakthroughs in the field of cytokosomosis on a daily basis than most people will realize."

        Jon Stewart does more to change the public's opinion of potheads by acknowledging that he has done it, probably still does it, and isn't a slave to the same pothead stereotypes Rogan is. Also, he's not so polarizing, and has had a long career filled with mostly ups and quite possibly will include this interview on the "Whatever happened to that Seth guy that made like, a bunch of movies where he was the same guy and then faded away when people realized that he was this year's Adam Sandler?" DVD.

        But yes, Rogan, like George Bush, and people suffering any number of disorders from autism to OCD, is one of the rare (if by rare you mean, the opposite) type of people that has a plan and sticks with it. Congratulations. You have successfully pointed out that that not everyone who wants to be a cowboy at age 3 has the gumption to stick with it.

        However, the number of people digging down anything that can be seen as even remotely anti-pot outnumbers the people reading and thinking, so this reply will be happily buried.

      You think its just coincidence that as people get more educated, they stop believing in god? I think intelligence is inversely proportional to belief in god.

        i think he singled out those that don't believe in god because the bible is irrelevant to their beliefs, so if they are against marijuana the bible can't be used against them.

If you considered yourself so intelligent then you would not make such broad assumptions. There are highly educated people who do believe in God. I'll give you that they are a small minority but there are some. To judge someones intelligence on their belief system is basically judging the book by its cover. Which inherently is an act that you "intelligent" people are not supposed to do.

        Just because you don't like and or believe in something does not give you a right to look at the people that do as inferior to you.

    I really hate when movies have too many cheap laughs: People falling, getting punched, shot, etc.

    Some of the dialogue in the movie was funny and I was fairly entertained for the first 20 minutes. After that it dragged on way to long.

    Maybe Jason Segal set the bar too high with Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but comparatively, this movie sucked.

He isn't really trying to advocate following his lifestyle or anything like that, he's just making light of the situation. As someone who doesn't do drugs and probably won't, I don't think there's anything wrong with what he's doing as long as he's happy with it. And it looks like he's not the type of people who lets weed control his life and, as a result, is on the streets and unproductive, so I see no problem with him.

First, the guy is supposed to be like 20 (looking more like 35) and dating a high schooler. Second, they get caught selling kids weed. My pot hero's must be morally infallible. That, and the movie was a little graphic. I guess if your slightly traumatized by seeing less that comedic death and injury, then you'll have a more emotional connection with the movie.
