Well the money certainly will feed many starving people. The florist made money. So did whoever delivered the flowers. They took that profit and say ate some food well guess what the food that they ate somebody made a profit on. And they ate off of it. So think before you say "what a waste of money" plenty of good hard working people ate off of the profit made off of those damn flowers.

While I happen to think that 5k worth of flowers is a silly gesture, I do find it odd when people operate under the idea that when a rich person buys sometimes they simply throw money into a flaming barrel. If you buy a $100,000,000 yacht... hundreds of people work directly on that vessel and tens of thousands of people work on it indirectly as manufacturers of parts and so forth. That $100,000,000 moves through thousands of people.
