- jackelopeus, on 11/29/2008, -3/+177I miss TNG... The character of Picard evolved so much throughout the show and I can presume a good part of that came from Patrick Stewart's ownership of the it. It was known that he could in no way "replace" Capt. Kirk, but managed to take the role in an entirely different direction and appeal to a newer audience.

- jasonh1234, on 11/30/2008, -7/+150TNG. The only Start Trek I ever liked.
- Cenobite, on 11/30/2008, -8/+22I've always been partial to Voyager, myself. Not that I liked it better than TNG, but I loved both equally.
Only recently have I started watching TOS, and while some episodes are absolutely fan-*****-tastic (City on the edge of Forever), so far I still prefer TNG and Voyager.- SkullAndXBones, on 11/30/2008, -17/+6Voyager?
They had a female captain and that's why they got lost. Right off the bat horrible premise making that a horrible show. - joshua850, on 11/30/2008, -0/+16I watched them all (TNG was the best), but Voyager seem to be a "Gilligan's Island in Space". Every few episodes they would have a way back and something would screw it up. That and the way they prefixed, "iso-" to everything.
- ceredron, on 11/30/2008, -2/+5don't be too critical of janeway. Anyway, she had plenty of supporting cast members who were memorable within themselves.
- sexybobo, on 11/30/2008, -4/+2I only like the star treks that are referred to by three characters TOS TNG DS9 TAS

VOY, ENT. - PrometheusBorn, on 11/30/2008, -1/+2Voyager? Really? That was the first Star Trek that I stopped caring if I saw the next episode.
Great contrast to my opinion of previous Treks. - Angostura, on 11/30/2008, -0/+5I'll never forget the episode when Neelix had some old mouldy cheese that somehow infected the gel packs crucial to Voyager's running. At that point I knew it had truly jumped the shark.
- Cenobite, on 11/30/2008, -0/+3Perhaps my opinion of Voyager was tainted by the fact that I was eight :)

- trogdor282, on 11/30/2008, -1/+39DS9 is AMAZING. I always thought TNG was a little too "civilized". DS9 brings the Federation to the brink of collapse to see if they still retain the high morals that define them. Good stuff.
- MOJIRA, on 11/30/2008, -17/+10"DS9 is amazing"...
Well, now I can die because I've heard it all... - mrsteveman1, on 11/30/2008, -1/+16That and they were a little to proud of their move toward socialist type government, no money, all needs provided for etc.
DS9 had greedy capitalists all over the place :D - dhVyse, on 11/30/2008, -11/+3There are always a couple DS9 fanatics. Personally, I never saw what they saw. Thought it was the worst of all of them, besides Enterprise of course.
- kronix2, on 11/30/2008, -1/+26DS9 was incredible. The story arcs were brilliant, as was the character progression. DS9 asked what would happen if the universe wasn't a utopia. Their entire civilisation came close to collapse during the Dominion arc, and people like Sisko did some things that their civilisation is ostensibly opposed to.
Killing a Romulan senator, in order to blame it on the Dominion, in order to bring them into the war on the Federation's side...would Picard have done that? Would the writers have let Picard do that? No. But it's what we all would have done in Sisko's place.
By the way, Gul Dukat is the most convincing, complete, fleshed-out villain I've ever seen in sci-fi. - Volath, on 11/30/2008, -2/+11From what I hear DS9 isn't very good for the first few seasons but then suddenly becomes awesome when the Dominion war starts.
- kronix2, on 12/01/2008, -0/+6Yep. The early seasons feel a lot like TNG in a frontier setting, with a lot of relatively self-contained episodes. The Dominion arc, however, feels like one long epic, rich with character-specific plot lines which had ramifications beyond that particular episode. Look at how people like Quark and Dukat progressed between Seasons 1/2 and Seasons 6/7. They're different people, thanks to the great writing.
Dukat was a villain who obviously loved his half-Bajoran daughter and her Bajoran mother, and seemed to be terribly conflicted; he believed what he was doing was the lesser of two evils - that he was protecting Bajor. He came off as a sympathetic character, the noble adversary of Sisko. He later became a broken man due to his daughter's death, which is when we understood that Dukat was as close to true evil as is possible. Again I say, Dukat is the best sci-fi villain I've ever seen.
The DS9 Dominion arc is one of my two favourite sci-fi or fantasy story arcs, the other being the Stargate SG-1 Ori arc.
/end sci-fi geek-out - Yazilliclick, on 12/01/2008, -1/+2Yeah I'll agree with that sentiment that it got good when the Dominion arc started. Unfortunately I was largely turned off the series early on thanks to them basically being TNG but stuck largely in one location. It was pretty boring at that point with not a whole lot going on. It definitely took off later on.
Voyager suffered from the same symptoms as DS9 at the start also, in that the whole premise is based around this one rather 'simplistic' notion that they are trying to get home. It invariably limits what they can do with the show. They've basically got no federation, no real politics other than short term deals. There's no intrigue at all, nothing to really keep you watching other than 'do they get home?'. You could get as much from that series from watching the first few episodes and the last few rather than the whole series. With the TNG and DS9 you get so much more from watching all the shows as things really evolve to a degree within them. - etherreal, on 12/01/2008, -0/+7DS9 is mediocre until you start watching it in order. Then it becomes magnificent. A lot of great characters, even the cheesy Quark has some serious character growth as time goes on. Sisko is also a great captain/commander.
Anyone remember the episode where Sisko was an old-timey sci-fi writer in the 50s? Some really powerful stuff there. - swgc5, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1DS9 is ***** awesome, I'd put it in a tie with Voyager for the 2nd best Star Trek series. Obviously TNG is the best star trek series.
- watership, on 12/01/2008, -0/+4DS9 was certainly the most rewarding Trek Series. If you like character, dialgoue, series spaning story, and gravitas, DS9 has it. TNG was infinitely more popular but watching them years later, back to back, you realize just how special DS9 was.
And it had Garak.
And Battles with like ...3000 Starships.
And that an fitting tribute to TOS with the Tribble episode and the Mirror Universe episodes.
And Worf was actually useful.
- MOJIRA, on 11/30/2008, -17/+10"DS9 is amazing"...
- Disneyisevil50, on 11/30/2008, -1/+2I liked the concept of Voyager, sometimes the execution sucked though. The original series had occasionally good episodes but it was always evident that it was from the 1960s, not just the special effects, but most everything about the show. I never really watched DS9. I liked some of what I saw from Enterprise but never got into it.
- caramba420, on 12/01/2008, -1/+1TNG was also the only one I ever liked.
However, it should be noted that the chick who played "7 of 9" on Voyager frequented freaky sex clubs with her then-husband.

If a typical woman saw shaved head Billy and heard his voice but had no idea he was a rockstar and awesome musician, would she still find him sexy? Objectively, I do not think that she would.
Patrick Stewart stands a good chance of bedding all kinds of women with his voice, charisma and commanding presence. They don't even have to know he's a famous actor, he's sexy and has all the power.

Takes about 5 minutes. Grows back in a week if you don't like it. If it's too long to use the razor at first, go to the hairdresser and get them to trim it initially.
Seriously, it's going to be gone eventually, so better start getting used to it now. And if you ask 1000 woman what they prefer, 100% will say shave it off. Looks healthier, cleaner, less creepy, tougher, etc.

- tgc1, on 11/30/2008, -1/+36I love Patric Stewart. Albeit in a totally heterosexual way. The man is just so charismatic. Part of the reason I loved TNG so much. He was always so brilliant. One minute he's pissed off about aliens attacking the ship. The next he's suave and trying to hit on Dr.Crusher... the next he's calmly having an Earl Grey Tea, or laughing and carrying on with his ship mates. Fantastic. - dustbowl, on 11/30/2008, -0/+9According to Wikipedia, Patrick Stewart is dating someone who is 29 years old, Lisa Dillon.

- TwineHornet, on 12/01/2008, -0/+7I will force my kids to watch TNG and they WILL love it.
- algaeturd, on 12/01/2008, -3/+1And they WILL grow up to be virgins.
- TheOneTrueGod, on 12/01/2008, -1/+2Just like their father, huh.
- TwineHornet, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1Well, I'm hoping to have girls---and I know they're going not going to have trouble finding guys if they appreciate TNG like their mother =)
- TwineHornet, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1*meant to say not going to have trouble ;p
- algaeturd, on 12/01/2008, -3/+1And they WILL grow up to be virgins.
- artofwot, on 12/01/2008, -1/+5I saw Patrick Stewart on stage with David Tenant in Hamlet. It was pretty much a nerdgasm.
- RobotBuddha, on 12/01/2008, -0/+3I'm only slightly kidding when I say that would be better than a cure for cancer.
- maviis, on 12/01/2008, -0/+4Since when has youtube been doing the "not avaliable in your country" bs!?
With the obnoxious inline ads and this I'm starting to dislike youtube more and more every day. - Baronvontito1, on 12/01/2008, -0/+10There are FOUR lights!
- benkraj, on 12/01/2008, -0/+7This was oddly inspirational.
- peters1023, on 12/01/2008, -6/+0TNG.... woot. Kirk however will always kick Picard's ass
- amsteenm, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2I enjoyed his voice acting in Elder Scrolls too, but his character was not bald, and I was disappointed. Then he gets killed and only his bald representations remained! Great man, shiny head.
- palindrome12, on 12/01/2008, -1/+1Only question I ever thought was hard, Was do I like Kirk or do I like Picard?
- wpc33, on 12/01/2008, -1/+2Stewart is a huge fan of Beavis & Butt-head.
"It's borderline addiction, in fact. I have ties, I have all the videos, I have a wonderful collection of T-shirts.
"When the history of 20th century American television is written, I think that Beavis and Butthead will be singled out as a very, very important cultural phenomenon." - dithyrambica, on 12/01/2008, -1/+2I'm glad to see men being inspired by this.
Patrick Stewart awesomeness aside, I have strong opinions on this topic.
I think it sucks our culture has made this such an issue for men.
How you look affects how you carry yourself, it's how you feel about your appearance that matters.
We don't need you to have hair to be a man.
Besides most balding comes on with age.
Age hopefully denotes wisdom. -
