- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+164she looks fine without makeup. i dont see this really proving anything
- bsmeteronhigh, on 10/12/2007, -15/+67She was stunning with and without makeup. Her makeup enhanced her beauty.
- shadus, on 10/12/2007, -9/+57The biggest differences between those pics isn't between the makeup and non-makeup, it's between the camera qualities. The non-professional pics are tremendously lower quality and grainy, of course she doesn't look as good. Take a pic on your camera phone and then take a pic with a 6mp camera. Compare. (Unless you're really ugly the 6mp camera will look ALOT better.)
Thank you captain obvious! - Ngai, on 10/12/2007, -4/+43Mirror:

sorry for comment hijacking...i searched on Google... - bofhcabbit, on 10/12/2007, -5/+44I don't think it was really intended to be the kind of article that says 'OMG LOOK HOW BAD THEY LOOK WITH NO MAKEUP'. I think they were trying to show hos much of the 'iconic' Marilyn look was makeup. Which is true.
She's still pretty, even without the makeup. It's just a much different look. - arcooke, on 10/12/2007, -7/+40Lots of good mirrors here... am I the only one that thinks she looks better _without_ makeup? Maybe it's just me, but I'm a sucker for the natural look. Not a big fan of makeup, personally.
- spookyttws, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23Attracting? As in she has a gravitational pull?
- keef06, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17Most of the pictures never completely loaded but here's a couple mirrors of the actual page:

- Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15I think she looks good without makeup too. The problem with some of these is one that I laugh at in almost ALL before/after pictures. The before picture is always a crappy photo with horrible lighting and in this case film grain, while the after was done with a professional photographer with his own lighting setup and a good camera.
- supermajic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12you're on digg buddy, you are a nerd
- freehunter, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14Really, the professional picture is more about airbrushing than makeup.
- Domza, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13still hot without make up
- rompom7, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12I'm sick of people bitching about it. Firstly, it will eventually grab it. And secondly, does it really hurt? I mean someone is always going to post a link to duggmirror even when it doesn't work. Get used to it. Duggmirror has links to 3 other caches, so its better than nothing.
There is no reason why you should care if someone posts a link to duggmirror, because chances are YOU'RE going to try duggmirror to see if it works anyway, so why not just have a link there? Quit your crying, it doesn't hurt anyone, if anything it helps to know that the mirror is down, so you don't have to type it in yourself.
The thing I am even more sick of is duggmirror not getting the pages fast enough. Duggmirror used to work great, now I don't think it has worked for me when I've needed it in MONTHS.
Btw, heres a bookmarklet I wrote a while ago. Just go to the comments page of a digg story and click it:
javascript:window.location.href=window.location.href.replace('digg.com', 'duggmirror.com'); - dissident, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I prefer the "innocent" look to the "sultry" or "naughty" look, thus I like her without the makeup much more.
- airmann90, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10I'd hit em both...
- cyrus6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6What the ***** has happened to Digg?
- wesball, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Wasting our time? As if looking at before and after photos of a star thats been dead for 45 years is productive...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Yeah, a lot of people seem to be missing the point. Makeup is clearly as integral to "Marilyn Monroe" as it is to Ronald McDonald.
It's interesting to see how different she looks in all of the non-made-up photos are, and how consistent her image is in the made-up ones. It's like looking at a real person versus a character, which I suppose is exactly what it is. - xobecide, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Audrey Hepburn takes that title in my book.
- keef06, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6sorry for that my last comment digg is screwing up my links the last link was:

(copy n paste it, don't click) - robdazomba, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7No, you're not the only one. I'm sure there are other gay guys on Digg too.
Criminy! How can anyone look at pics of MM and not at least think she's somewhat attractive? To me, she was really the ultimate (and original) babe. She was physically beautiful and seems to have a beautiful personality that comes across in the images as well. What's not to like? - BigEazy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9Kind of stupid that they use a painting in the first "after" picture
- noots, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5fremeer, Some Like it Hot was voted the greatest comedy of all time by the american film institute.
- sztuka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I really have never found her attractive under any circumstances but I do think that the pictures of her without the makeup make her look better. In general I dislike makeup except in minimal amounts.
- arcooke, on 10/12/2007, -7/+10Next time, test your link before you post it. Quit wasting our time.
- UO07, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Is she still alive like Elvis?
- inv1c7u5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i kinda like her natural look more, especially the last pic, makes her look a lot more down to earth... but i guess that's just something i like about women personally
- noots, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5i guess the reality is her death added hugely to her appeal, no-one ever got to see her get old and wrinkly, giving a sort of everlasting beauty type *****.
bottom left pic is the hottest. - Dolphtesla, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Man, that chick is fat!
- redmond007, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5she was a beauty without makeup, and with bad camera angles and lighting. marilyn is a legend for a reason.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Why do women wear makeup and perfume?
...because they're ugly and they stink!!
BOOYAH! :D - estacado, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3How is this different from any other Hollywood star today. If plastic surgery existed back then, I'm 100% sure Marilyn would have had it done on her.
- JeffD, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Most women look better without makeup, looks like Marilyn was no exception. (Granted some of those were bad photos).
- Nunya, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Now someone can post the AMAZING comparisons of Anna Nicole and Marilyn with and without makeup and we can all complete our lives happy.
- arcooke, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Attractive.
- swordedge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Jamie Lee Curtis once did a "what a 40 something looks like" photo series. It was rather amazing the amount of change that took place. Her purpose was to show how fake what you see on the screen is.
There is also a transformation floating on the web somewhere that shows a model getting made up and turned into a billboard. If the model was standing in front of you and the billboard was in your line of sight, you'd never recognize her. - Ender008, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thats just sad...like wow.
- superbonbon, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4uhm, she's wearing makeup in both pictures and looks fine in both pictures.
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1necrophiliac.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Some do (Christina Aguilera and her clown face paint come to mind), but most? Hardly. If they do it well then the point is that the make-up will have a subtle but flattering effect.
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1She was so much prettier without the makeup. I never thought she was attractive at all, just an example of the ideal of beauty from the '50s that I never would have subscribed to. Here, though, I see that she really was a natural beauty. She reminds me a lot of Pink in the first picture.
- rowlodge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1her smile is better without makeup.
- sogracefully, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3fremeer, no, it's because she pioneered the image of the woman who is comfortable and open about her sexuality. just because you don't like her movies doesn't mean she wasn't a cultural icon. gawd, have some class.
- dstz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Oh she's so awful without makeup. Not.
- GawtMilk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Hand-colored photo. Not a painting.
- Buckeye70, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I came to digg and all I found was people magazine. What's next whether Britney looks better with or without hair?
- Swampthing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1 = gay.
- TDR25, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Besides the third pic going from going down, she doesn't look too bad.
