That doesn't mean she'll be fat, but it'll probably mean that she will end up having a larger frame than most female celebrities would like. I predict she will have some weight issues (not that she'll be overweight, but she might try some extreme measures to cut weight in, say, 5 years).

- EatingPie, on 04/13/2008, -5/+3I actually disagree with the Miley Cyrus listing. And her show on Disney Channel doesn't call for any serious acting, but she's fine in the role. And she actually is a good singer, though her songs are certainly all pop. Her concert tour was a major hit, and from everything I can tell, she actually DID sing on stage. She's making a lot of money, but she's definitely talented and has earned it.
My concern is, of course, that she'll end up like Brittany Spears, or some of the other Disney almuni. With so much money and SO MUCH popularity, it's definitely difficult to stay grounded. I pray that she can do it.

I've seen bits and pieces of the show (have a little sister) and there were several times she attempts at singing while not being on stage, no talent there. I'm not even gonna go into the excuse for a "comedy" this show is. As some other Digger has said before me "not funny enough? MORE LAUGH TRACK!"

- EatingPie, on 04/14/2008, -1/+1Oh, no doubt she's a marketed commodity via the Disney Empire. I was not denying that one bit. And that leaves a VERY bad taste in my mouth.
But they got lucky on this one. Miley Cyrus is actually talented. She writes some of her own songs, and she can perform -- see note on Jay Leno appearance. As I said, she sings on stage. Even Janet Jackson doesn't do that (yes, I've seen her live). I haven't seen Britney Spears (and never will) but I doubt she sings a single real life note on stage either.
Because I have children I've been immersed in the Miley Cyrus/Hanah Montana phenomenom, and I'm very tired of it. But I call it like I see it. As sick of it as I am of her music/show, she *is* talented, and as tempting as it is to label her as "untalented" simply because she's a marketed commodity, in this case that's unfair.

- TomK88, on 04/14/2008, -7/+150 Cent is one of the best entrepreneurs to come out of rap in years. His music has shifted into the pop-rap genre now, but his early rap was decent. I don't think anybody that came from nothing and created an empire like 50 Cent has can be called overrated. Plus, he's actually a legitimately intelligent person and business man. Don't believe the hype that MTV sells you, most of these big-name rappers are very shrewd businessmen.

Dr. Phil is not only the most over-rated and overpaid talk show host(and thats all he is) in America. He is the most dangerous. He uses a facade of credibility he does not have to meddle in the lives of people already in a fragile state. He is not the first talk show host to do this but he is the most agressive about it. Everyone is familiar with his unwanted intrustion into the fragile life of Britney Spears. Most recently his show paid the bail for one of the girls charged with the now infamous” Youtube beating in an attempt to get her on the show. Who the hell does he think he is playing a life or death game with these young people. A degree on the wall does not qualify him to meddle and anyone who thinks his agenda is to help is delusional in the extreme….
