- weirdone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+53"For example, a child who falls and hurts himself is taken to the place where he was hurt and the injury is pressed against the object that caused it. It is believed the pain can be made to flow back into the object."
this quote was great. All I can picture is some person putting a dog's snout into poo on the carpet saying 'bad dog, look what you did.'
Here son put this rock on your knee. Do you feel that? That's the pain flowing out of you by osmosis back into the rock you just fell on. whatever happened to a bandaid? - cheez, on 10/12/2007, -2/+46""They had children doing physical work, sometimes 40 to 60 hours a week. It could be anything - shoveling gravel, laying carpet, but mostly it was clerical work"
holy crap! - IHaveIssues, on 10/12/2007, -3/+35Awesome article from 2001!
- sfty, on 10/12/2007, -4/+31 digg for another Scientology post /o/
- Tarantulus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27Scientology makes me feel physically sick, I'm not religious, but christianity, islam, bhuddism, no other religion that I am aware of makes me actively want to seek and and harm the head of the church, except scientology.
- Rickard, on 10/12/2007, -6/+30Nowhere on that page does Nicole Kidman "talk about Scientology and why she quit". Actually, there's not a single Kidman quote on the whole page. Don't get me wrong, I dislike cults as much as the next guy, but the subject for this digg is just completely off.
- electrichead, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24Here, let me just put this knife back in and let the pain flow out of your wound back into the knife
- Roger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21"... Cruise became enraged when Kidman and actor Mel Gibson teased him about Scientology ... Gibson would not stop making fun of Cruise and giggling at his temper tantrum"
Priceless. Man I wish I could have been there. - glsunder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21" a child who falls and hurts himself is taken to the place where he was hurt and the injury is pressed against the object that caused it. It is believed the pain can be made to flow back into the object."
That is one of the most idiotic things that I've heard in a very long time. The more I learn about these fools, the more amazed I become. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20I'm happy to have as many Scientology articles on the front page as possible. The Church really screwed up with the Codebot fiasco. It only brought more attention to them; worse, it turned all of Digg against them, and now people are digging anti-Scientology stories. It's fantastic. More people need to be educated about this dangerous organization, especially with celebrities like Tom Cruise going around mocking people for taking their prescribe post-partem meds. What an *****.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17* made a mistake - it should be NY Post instead of New York times. I'm guessing they split up over Scientology..he's like the poster boy of Scientology.
- tdkme, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Man, I love how we are outing this ridiculous group!
- smoothmedia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14http://theunfunnytruth.ytmnd.com
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19same.
this scientology crap is getting out of control.
i see another waco compound incident in the near future.
and or the release of duke nukem forever. - Poco, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17Who's your Xenu? Who's your Xenu!!!
- weirdone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13you can adopt a child before the kid is born, which is what they're saying happened here and then he wanted the mothers to have a silent birth.
- yoda715, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Scientology is not a religion. It is a cult and they are crazy. Just look at Tom Cruise. He's their puppet.
- kickarse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9How about a sharp knife while cutting an onion... ouch!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Cruise is gay. They HAD to adopt!!
"Come out of the closet, Tom" - South Park - superfoo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10The South Park episode was the greatest...
'Oh my God! Tom Cruise is in the closet!' - pseudojd, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Waco is what I have been seeing between the lines of all these Scientology stories.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Yeah, no matter what you think of Christians, Jews, Muslims, and other religions, they don't sue you for posting their scriptures online because they normally charge hundreds of thousands of dollars and want you to put your house up for collateral. Oh, and disconnect from those evil non-Scientologists who don't believe what you believe. That way, you're nice and shut inside our world where we'll have total control.
Anyone heard Tool's song "Eulogy?" Ever interpreted the lyrics as being about L. Ron Hubbard? Give it a listen. - Ireland, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Every single member of digg finally agrees on something!!!
- RubeGoldberg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Jesus. The whole 'making amends' thing and pressing objects against your injuries to get rid of the pain...its just crazy. I don't have anything against most religions, but in my opinion Scientology is just dangerous and is the biggest con of the 21st Century. Stay away, kids!
- TeKoverride, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12Damn ... most Americans don't do 40 hours of work. Hell.. I have a b.s. degree and barely do 40 hours a week. If I was a kid doing 40 hours a week without getting paid I would have to choke a scientologist... maybe Tom Cruise :)
- Arramol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Read the article. Cruise insisted that the biological mothers perform the Scientology ritual.
- theLimit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8What scares me is that Tom Cruise was in close contact with Dakota Fanning while filming The War of the Worlds. I hope he didn't manage to brainwash her.
- elpayo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7theunfunnysequel.ytmnd.com
- sennmen, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Seeing the amount of posts and controversy about Scientology, this is pretty relevant. Even though this is an old article, it talks about a pretty recent issue.
- Daryl209, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6So with all of this ***** out in the open and there's no way to even make any sense of it...why do people still believe it? Are humans really that stupid?
- carpespasm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8that's the feeling of knowing that ***** is a cult boiling up in your throat like vomit. their only purpose is to drain your of your money and make you do what they want.
- Mace37, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8"Writing for a penny a word is ridiculous. If a man really wants to make a million dollars, the best way would be to start his own religion"--L. Ron Hubbard
No Comment, organised religion in all forms makes me angry but anything that charges a fee to study is just looking to take from your pocket. - Itkovian, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I second that.
- mandarin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5All glory to the Hypnotoad!
- kneal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Just because they were adopted does not mean that Cruise did not have any contact with the mother before delivery.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7You've got to be a real tool to buy into a fake religion.
- Tyjax, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Dugg for the mere sake of more information. And more external views. Seek the truth. It is freeing.
- mesapiegrande, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4You know I don't believe the article ever actually quotes Nicole Kidman. Interesting title.
- loof, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7It's old but that doesn't mean it's not relevant. How many people had even heard of scientology 5 years ago? I bet 10x the number of people have heard of it now.
- Poco, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5It sounds a bit like homeopathy. Not the "I think natural things can be good for me" homeopathy that people think it is, but the "dilute something to the point where there is a good chance that there are no more molecules of it left" homeopathy...
http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/homeo.html - ClassicJBC, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Not that I'm complaining, but digg and the Internet in general are beating the living ***** out of Scientology lately. I feel like I missed something, like what started all this, but hell, I'm enjoying the fireworks.
- TaronWarrior, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I used to be against all the Tom Cruise bashing, thinking it was more of a bandwagon kinda thing, like everyone was doing it and it was cool to do it. I still like his movies (Vanilla Sky!), but man, I can't respect anyone that practices this religion. And anyone who would split with Nicole Kidman over religion is a douche. XD
I like the parts quoting the book and scientologists. "people outside Scientology - or as Hubbard defined them, 'common, ordinary, run-of-the-mill, garden-variety humanoids.'" "'If you turn your kids over to the enemy all day for 12 to 15 years, which side do you think they will come out on?'"
Humanoids! HAHAHA! - santiago1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4 Anyone notice the different links connected to the copyright notice at the bottom of the page? I looked at the different adresses, but considering the nature of the main page (scientology....), I don't know if I want to actually click on the links.....
- Itkovian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I suppose the same can be said about any cult where the wacko in charge abuses people. (Hmm, pope, condoms, AIDS, anyone?) Some people simply need protection from themselves, without people that are easily brainwashed, these cults would cease to have a following, imo.
- Ireland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If you read all the comments you'd see a lot more people beat him to it! The more and more this comment pops up, the more and more I think we have SCIENTOLOGY TROLLS!!!
- wild, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Agreed. I was wondering if someone else noticed that.
- matthewhemby, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Burying simply because the title is innaccurate (as mesapiegrande has pointed out).
Scientology is teh creepy, though. - RobotDog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ive been reading up and viewing many court cases and picket movies about scientology for some time now.. And Im glad a celebraty quit the religeion maby this will start a ripple or atleast stop more from joining..
I almost feel obligated to leave this link
http://xenutv.com
Great site with many movies about freaky scientologists...
Im realy happy about this HUGE jump on scientology in the past few weeks on digg. Though some stories were around befor now it has exploaded Exposeing the truth. - GMorgan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I think you'll find burning Cruise would have the opposite effect to what you expect. The only way to defeat scientology is to continually ridicule anyone who practices it. Don't give it the respect of martyrdom. Of course I know your post is in jest but these are exactly the sort of feelings that they want you to feel. If people were indifferent to it and ignored it then it would vanish.
- 15charmaxwtf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The only reason they got legal status as a religion was to be exempt from tax.
