- xsecretfiles, on 03/06/2009, -10/+75Am I the only one that really liked National Treasure?
- Treshnell, on 03/06/2009, -3/+57If I digg you up does it mean that yes, you are the only one that liked it...or does it imply that I agree that it was enjoyable?
For the record...I also liked National Treasure... - muxaulo, on 03/06/2009, -0/+50It's only missing the classic from BWC: http://www.aww-kittah-aww.com/up/files/794/hairisa ...
- TDTech, on 03/06/2009, -1/+46How I like to put it is, Nicolas Cage is Nicolas Cage. Doesn't matter what movie you put him in he never puts on a character. Hes just himself.
- audiblesilence, on 03/06/2009, -1/+31Raising Arizona was the best Nic Cage movie ever.
- PixelMagic, on 03/06/2009, -7/+35I like Nicolas Cage. *shrug*
- hoisonsauce, on 03/06/2009, -3/+29Nicholas Cage is a good actor. Yes he makes crappy paycheck movies but he has had some really good performances:
- Raising Arizona
- The Weather Man
- Leaving Las Vegas
- Lord of War - Terasiel, on 03/06/2009, -1/+26Sometimes other people are Nicolas Cage. I could have sworn Clive Owen was him in Sin City.
- vinceislegend, on 03/06/2009, -1/+25HOW'D IT GET BURNED?! HOW'D IT GET BURNED!? HOW'D IT GET BURNED!?
- rolawson, on 03/06/2009, -1/+24-Adaptation
-Matchstick Men - GirlsCallMeMatt, on 03/06/2009, -1/+22I thought Con Air was awesome haha
Like the kind of so bad its awesome thing. He gets shot in the arm, yells in anger and then proceeds to beat the ***** out of the other inmates in the plane, sooo badass.
And you gotta love his fake southern gent accent too...good times, good times. - AManWithNoName, on 03/06/2009, -2/+21I loved it. It was like Da Vinci Code, except it didn't suck.
- christoast, on 03/06/2009, -0/+15Best Scenes From "The Wicker Man": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6i2WRreARo
- Wazdinero, on 03/06/2009, -0/+13Instead of going to see 'Knowing' in theaters, I think I will just give my room mate $5 to shout out "The numbers are dates of disasters!" during 'National Treasure' every time Nicholas Cage finds a clue.
- inactive, on 03/06/2009, -0/+12Nice pedostache in pic #1.
- Shawn4168, on 03/06/2009, -1/+12First one was good, 2nd one was rather "meh".
- RobotKeaton, on 03/06/2009, -0/+11I agree, and unlike other actors, Nicolas Cage is nice enough to let us know when his movies are gonna suck. Every time he has weird looking hair, the movie sucks. If his hair looks like that of a reasonable human being, it's pretty good. The only exception is Raising Arizona, but that was before he decided he was gonna be in bad films.
- blinker265, on 03/06/2009, -1/+12when i hear that a Nicolas Cage movie is out, i think 'meh'. but when i watch his movies on tv, i usually enjoy them
- Cabose, on 03/06/2009, -5/+16Best Cracked article ever. I'm surprised Digg found it. It's such an obscure site...
- kenhatesemos, on 03/06/2009, -0/+10wait, what?
- mrallen86, on 03/06/2009, -1/+11Didn't Adam Corolla talk about this exact same thing on his podcast just a few days ago?
- MacGyver2210, on 03/06/2009, -0/+9***** you, that made me spit milk out my nose
- jba68, on 03/06/2009, -1/+10me three
- Terasiel, on 03/06/2009, -0/+9That accent put me through college.
- christoast, on 03/06/2009, -0/+9OH GOD NOT THE BEES
- oda1, on 03/06/2009, -2/+11I hate when people jump on a bandwagon. This "Nicolas Cage sucks" bandwagon is invalid. Cage does some crap movies, sure -- has anyone seen Wicker man? was it intended to be a comedy? but for the most part he's a great actor --
"The Weather man" AND "Lord of War" in the same year.
"Adaptation" and "Matchstick Men" 1 year apart.
"8mm" and "bringing out the dead" in the same year.
This guy is a great actor, and he's doing what we'd all do. After he won his oscar now he's only doing movies for the money. - Ford_Prefect2nd, on 03/06/2009, -0/+8Lord of War is one of my all time favourite flicks. I don't even know why, it was just amazing.
- Bra1nStew, on 03/06/2009, -0/+7Face-Off and The Rock where good for what they are, action flicks.
- yocouchdigga, on 03/06/2009, -1/+7Leaving Las Vegas was good.
There are so many other actors out there that are so much worse than Nicholas Cage, DOB should've chosen one of them because you could do this with any actor, good or bad. I would like to see this done with Steven Seagal... - Terasiel, on 03/06/2009, -0/+6I can't get through the second one yet. I will eventually. I thought the first one was genius.
- kenhatesemos, on 03/06/2009, -1/+6yeah i liked adaptation, matchstick men, raising arizona, and lord of war. haven't seen the weather man, though i hear it's good. there are a lot worse actors out there who are much more objectionable than nicholas cage.
doesn't mean he is exempt from being ridiculed for the awful movies he has been in, though. - christoast, on 03/06/2009, -0/+5Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.
-Scott Adams - mlvassallo, on 03/06/2009, -0/+5Leaving Las Vegas is one of my favorite films. He just needs to stop being Bruce Willis and do some more artsy pieces.
- MindTrigger, on 03/06/2009, -0/+5Yeah.... I tend to give the middle finger to just about any review of movies or actors these days. Invariably the reviewer is a self-important douche-nozzle who is trying to find art or meaning in all movies, rather than just unplugging from life and enjoying a little escapism.
I won't go to the theater to catch a Nic Cage film. This isn't saying much though, because I generally only go to the theater for epic movies I wish to share with a crowd of people. It takes a lot for me to visit a cinema rather than wait for the dvd/blu-ray these days.
Having said that, I almost always enjoy Cage's movies. I don't expect to be blown out of my chair by them, but I'm never bored either. There are lots of actors who tend to stick to a formula that works for them. I don't see a problem with actors sticking to a formula as long as they continue to make money. If you don't like a particular movie formula, avoid it, but to bitch about it is ludicrous. - AsSubtleAsABrik, on 03/06/2009, -2/+7I dunno, I think The Rock is the panniacle of 90s action movies, so I'd have to go with that.
I mean whoever thought to put Connery in as a badass British spy was pretty clever. I certainly see what he did there. - AManWithNoName, on 03/06/2009, -0/+5Daniel O' Brien, I have noticed over the years that you have many awesomes. If you would be so kind, I would very much like to borrow one of your awesomes such that I may learn from it.
- Terasiel, on 03/06/2009, -0/+4My favorite by far was the last one. I'm not even going to quote it - just to make sure I don't ruin it for anyone who reads here first.
- wannaBdug, on 03/06/2009, -5/+9I'm so glad that there are others out there who think Nicholas Cage sucks. Ok Raising Arizona was good but it was a great movie that Nicholas Cage just happened to be lucky enough to get in.
- RAT-Man, on 03/06/2009, -0/+4Holy crap, a Cracked article that doesn't require 5 page click through.
I'm impressed. Great images btw too. - Troy64, on 03/06/2009, -0/+4What about "Valley Girls"
http://www.ew.com/ew/gallery/0,,20219070_20219073_ ... - UselessTrivia, on 03/06/2009, -0/+4Higher hopes for Angels & Demons. It was a cooler book and more movie-friendly for adaptation.
I wish they hadn't cast Tom Hanks, though. He was way too obvious for that role. Clooney would have been better, but again, too obvious. - AManWithNoName, on 03/06/2009, -1/+5This is ***** awesome.
http://cdn-www.cracked.com/articleimages/dan/cagep ... - danielrh9, on 03/06/2009, -0/+4I have a truly epic idea for a TV show. Nicolas Cage and Jeff Goldblum will sit down and talk about stuff for an entire hour. It will be called 'Nicolas Cage and Jeff Goldblum Talk About Stuff'. It will air 9 PM on Wednesdays on NBC and it will get a better Nielsen rating than the last episode of M*A*S*H every single freaking week.
- Animental, on 03/06/2009, -0/+4"...Lights! Cameras! Bitchin' technology!"
- AManWithNoName, on 03/06/2009, -0/+3I just wish Tom Hanks actually ACTED in that role. It seems to me that he just looked bored the whole time through Da Vinci Code. Of course, I never read the book, so maybe he was supposed to look bored, but it just didn't appeal to me very much.
- chrisjudah, on 03/06/2009, -0/+3pictures are kind of funny. i can think of a lot worse actors than him though. if those are the worst movies you seen, apparently you haven't watch many movies
- MacGyver2210, on 03/06/2009, -0/+3I think we can all agree, he's better than Eric Roberts...
- rebirf, on 03/06/2009, -0/+3Yeah.
- b3owulf, on 03/06/2009, -0/+3My thoughts on Nicolas Cage... he's a an actor with lots of talent who also likes to get paid. He's been in some pretty crappy movies that I imagine gave him a hefty check... what's the problem?
Here are some movies I'd say are quite good that he did a fine job in:
- Raising Arizona, The Weather Man, Leaving Las Vegas, Lord of War, Adaptation, Matchstick Men - tnvwboy, on 03/06/2009, -0/+3Or for fun. He's into comics, so that's likely why he took the Ghost Rider role. Doesn't mean it was a good movie but if he made good money and had fun making it, what the *****?
