- atruskot, on 11/08/2007, -6/+40Anybody else see the episode of Hogan Knows best when Nick wrecks that rented Viper while he was trying to drift? Drifting may be lame as hell, but most people try not to jump in head first with a Viper in their first drifting competition. What a moron.
- oldhick, on 11/09/2007, -1/+12Dugg for drifting being lame as hell!!!
- cawpin, on 11/09/2007, -7/+1If you actually knew what you were talking about your comment may have carried some weight. It wasn't a competition. It was a qualifier to get his license.
- atruskot, on 11/08/2007, -0/+7ha-ha, did you just get offended by a rip on Nick Hogan? He didn't even make it to his first competition! If anything that helps my point, Nick shouldn't be behind the wheel of anything more powerful then a scooter.
- wsuBobby, on 11/09/2007, -0/+5Soooo... he wrecked in a "qualifier" - he didn't even make it to the real race. way to massage nick's balls and make your self look stupid.

- rkzda, on 11/08/2007, -4/+8You are an idiot. Prison would be quite the jumpdown for most middle-class people. Even lower-class. What does him being a celebrity have to do with proper punishment anyway

WHEN HULKAMANIA RUNS WILD ON YOOOOOO - diargasm, on 11/07/2007, -10/+3What a burn, I feel sorry for both of the guys. He didn't do it on purpose. He was just doing what many stupid teenagers would do with a fast car like that.

- diargasm, on 11/07/2007, -2/+2Teenagers don't belong in fast cars? Why single out teenagers? I know plenty of non-teenagers who drive fast and who have ended up wrecking their cars. I just feel we shouldn't antagonize the guy as if he purposely did that to his friend.
- hokie47, on 11/09/2007, -0/+3But teenagers more than anyone else should not drive super fast cars. I think the facts would support this.
- rcktwnmad, on 11/09/2007, -0/+3There's a reason why insurance rates for teenage boys are so high...
- nascarnate326, on 11/07/2007, -0/+1They are just as high for me as they are for a female on cars. And why is it the Y2k Gen cant have a fast car, yet the v8 powered 1960's were A-ok for everyone else?

- floatingpoints, on 11/08/2007, -3/+7Actually, most people treat it as such. People tend to forget what jail/prison is really for.
...and that's to contain and rehabilitate those who are deemed threats to society. Those threats being along the lines of murderers or rapists.
You can't go around jailing every person who races a car. And the crash wasn't intentional, so why punish for an accident?
The correct punishment in this case, as much as you may disagree, would be a few years of probation AND some pretty heavy fines.
The WRONG thing to do, in any situation, is blindly just throw people in jail because they broke a law. That's the reason we have varying punishments, and obviously some punishments don't fit the crime..- rkzda, on 11/08/2007, -0/+3It wasn't intentional, but breaking the law is why the "accident" happened. He put lives in danger, and not accidently, because he chose to break the law.

- Jnes, on 11/07/2007, -0/+9I don't feel bad for people who choose not to wear a seatbelt and then are badly injured because of it, it is their fault. If the guy had been wearing his seatbelt he most likely would not have brain damage.
Nick should have his license taken away and help pay the guy's medical bills but he shouldn't get jail time.- windmillninja, on 11/08/2007, -0/+9In most states, reckless driving, in and of itself, is a criminal offense. Reckless endangerment, therefore, is just as (if not more) punishable regardless of how careless the victim may have been.

- tacohead, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1THAT is a good question. Apparently he is idolized by people that watch reality shows. He's nobody worth caring about.
From wikipedia:
Nicholas Alan Bollea (born July 27, 1990), also known as Nick Hogan, is the son of professional wrestler Hulk Hogan and his wife Linda Bollea and the younger brother of singer Brooke Hogan. He is one of the stars of the reality show Hogan Knows Best and lives with his parents in Miami Beach, Florida. He has expressed interest in acting, wrestling, and motorsports as careers.
- tacohead, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1THAT is a good question. Apparently he is idolized by people that watch reality shows. He's nobody worth caring about.
- ozymandias2012, on 11/08/2007, -0/+3This situation will be resolved quickly. He won't go to jail, they'll put him on probation, and his brain damged friend will be a rich vegetable.
- RNEMESiS42, on 11/08/2007, -0/+7Ah, as beautiful Supra ruined by an irresponsible kid; he even got his friend brain-dead to boot! If he wants to be a race car driver, why doesn't he use his dad's millions to take professional driving lessons, instead of cruising down the strip and killing everyone? 17-year-olds (is he older?) shouldn't be driving $50,000 cars when they've only been driving one year of their life!
- KanchoBukkakeku, on 11/08/2007, -0/+7Although I am not a fan of additional rules, restrictions, and bureaucracy, I sometimes ponder if there should be some sort of different system for drivers licenses.
Just like you have to have a special license to drive a semi, perhaps you should have to take an additional test to be qualified to drive vehicles prone to rolling such as SUVs, or just ones that are undoubtedly going to be used for racing type activities or general speeding.
I do not think this will necessarily prevent a large number of accidents, but it might keep kids from these vehicles long enough tog et a little more experience behind the wheel, and maybe make everyones insurance go down a bit.- FordSVT1, on 11/08/2007, -0/+3It would be nice if there were higher standards in America for driving PERIOD. It's a whole different ball game in most of Europe and even in Canada. Some states in the US are better than others though.
- KanchoBukkakeku, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1I first got my license in louisiana. The driving test consisted of turning right out of the parking lot, turning right onto another not so busy road, making another right, then a left onto originating street, then left back into parking lot.
I literally made not even a block, maybe a mini block - KanchoBukkakeku, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1Hell, I would even be happy if they just require that you have been driving so many years to operate aforementioned vehicle types, and not worry about added DMV bureaucracy. If they get pulled over and do not have long enough time driving, licensed revoked, vehicle towed big fine.
- republicker, on 11/09/2007, -0/+1I want a to have to take a course to take a *****. Then I will be qualified.
- JJ2K1, on 11/08/2007, -0/+8And to think that as a teenager, this supra was supposed to be his "beater" car before he moves up to something else. He should never be allowed to drive again!
- FearFactory, on 11/07/2007, -0/+4At least it was a Viper and not some riced out Honda. He is in Clearwater so hopefully his auditing sessions go well.
- JoeFlambe, on 11/08/2007, -0/+3let's hope he does some time. He seems like a really lazy rich kid.
- AARGH2K, on 11/08/2007, -0/+7More irresponsible parents buying their kids cars, they can't handle. This show and crap like Sweet Sixteen on MTV just breed more of this nonsense. 4 16-17 year old kids were killed in MD yesterday possibly due to high rate of speed. None wearing seat belts.
- satx, on 11/08/2007, -0/+3Good riddance. They sounded pretty ***** stupid. Even when I was that age I had the sense to buckle up when riding with a psycho.

- FearLess77, on 11/08/2007, -0/+1Why care?
Don't get me wrong, he made a bad decision and his friend had to pay, but why do people care about the actions of celebrity's?
Don't you have something better to think about? - Sheff, on 11/07/2007, -0/+0I wonder if Hulk has ***** offspring insurance.
I mean really, why can't this kid get an honest job and buy a car with the money? Maybe then he'll value it more and not be so prone to wrecking them.
Why isn't he at his friend's beside helping with physical therapy? Is his friend dead, recovered, ***** up for life, what? I would be more concerned with the well being of this unfortunate passenger who had the bad judgement to befriend a kid with such a bad driving record. - securitymonkey, on 11/08/2007, -2/+2Hulk Hogan's son is arrested.
