I'm a reasonably intelligent guy. I hate sport, reality TV is just mind-numbing, talent contests are getting repetitive, soaps send me to sleep and every time something creative and edgy comes along they pull the bloody thing.
'Heroes' was good - ending was crap.
'Lost' was good - haven't seen series three yet.
'Firefly' was excellent - probably the best characters in a TV series I have ever seen. Pulled with years left in it.
'Dead like me' was excellent - one of the most entertaining 'death' stories I''ve seen. Pulled and left totally unresolved!!
Even a low budget show like 'Surface' started to get really interesting and then CANNED.
Am I part of some loser demographic?? that should be happy with retard TV. The stuff made to keep the dribbling hoards entertained?

It's a pretty silly movie(though probably not for the squeamish) and I think the advertisements made it seem like it was just another mediocre movie striving for the highest gross out value possible.
The movie has some subtle humor(the kind of stuff that Nathan Fillion was known for on Firefly) and I don't think that the role couldn't have been cast better. He'll get older and hence less marketable to hollywood. Then some TV pilots with him in the "Dad" role. Then that's about it for the career, unless there's a completely by chance role that comes along. He was 100% great as the captain in Firefly and I hope he gets a good role in a major film.

Makes me wonder what would have happened to say, Harrison Ford or Tom Hanks if they had been marginalized instead of capitalized upon as they were. Nathan Fillion is, in my opinion and many others, just as fine an actor as either of the two above named superstars (both of whom I completely enjoy watching and respect their abilities).
