- whiterice0, on 08/07/2008, -1/+4Ummm. Where exactly was the anti-gay part of this commerical? Are we to assume the man is gay because he's speed walking -- a dork, maybe, but gay? The prejudice is on the wrong foot here.
- JeffBuzz, on 08/07/2008, -1/+1Exactly...and its a shame that the prejudice had to be focused on the awesome Mr. T. Why isn't snickers the one getting the heat (not that anyone even deserves heat).

- dunderballer, on 08/07/2008, -2/+3That is how speed walkers walk? No. That is the stereotype of how gay people-complete with short shorts and a butt sloshing back and forth. Of course shooting him with something that looks like a machine gun and saying they are a "disgrace to the man race" is homophobic. Gay men are harassed with words and violence for "not acting like real men" and it is not funny regardless of whether we like Mr. T or not.
- PleaseJustDie, on 08/07/2008, -1/+2That's a stereotype of gays? really? I'm glad you let me know that, I missed that one in the stereotype handbook. I know plenty of gay people who don't wear short shorts or walk like that and I know plenty of straight people who speedwalk, and although most don't wear short shorts, their butts slosh like that when they do it correctly.
I don't think the commercial had any gay overtones or innuendos. Hell, I'd bet a vast majority of the people who have a problem with it because they think it offends gays never had a problem with it until they heard that it was offensive to gays. People are just inventing problems to make themselves feel important. - Zarokima, on 08/07/2008, -1/+2It's pretty funny and I wouldn't have associated it with gayness at all if not for the controversy. The fact that that you have to make a huge fuss about a commercial like this (with nothing homophobic about it) really says more about you than it does Mr. T or Mars. A cursory google reveals that I'm far from alone in thinking it was all about speed walking. And this is coming from a huge supporter of gay rights.
