- Spamiclese, on 09/15/2008, -13/+233Congratulations to the newlyweds. I hope this is a sign of things to come in this country. I am a happily married heterosexual and I believe everyone has the right to wed the person they love.
- seltaeb4, on 09/15/2008, -8/+174Set phasers on "buns."
(I just couldn't resist the bad pun.)
Seriously, though, congratulations and every happiness to Mr. Takei and Mr. Altman!!! :D - bicyclethief, on 09/15/2008, -7/+149Any couple who can stay together for 21 years is ***** impressive. Much continued happiness to them.
- viserov, on 09/15/2008, -5/+120Ohhh myyy!

- jasongeneva, on 09/15/2008, -4/+57Huge congratulations, as they must be extremely happy to wed after waiting 21 years.
Takei said: "We have a relationship that's been stronger and longer-lived than some of our straight friends and yet we were not equal." - mossrock, on 09/15/2008, -5/+56"May equality live long and prosper!"
awesome. - bicyclethief, on 09/15/2008, -4/+51Nice try but we all know you can't be happy and married.
- 1337Einstein, on 09/15/2008, -3/+41Zapp:The court is intrigued. Perhaps we can hear more about these forbidden words from someone with a sexily seductive voice.
Takei: With pleasure. - OneLess, on 09/15/2008, -2/+37"I can add 'my husband' to the list of things I call you," Takei said in his vows, which took place after the couple stepped into a circle of yellow roses. "I vow to care for you as you've cared for meā¦and to love you as my husband and the only man in my life."
That is awesome :) Best of luck to them! - gnomemage7, on 09/15/2008, -3/+36Haha I feel the need to collectively apologize for the replies to your comment thus far.
Being gay can be pretty isolating at times in our society and it really does make a difference every time anyone, regardless of orientation, expresses support for something so important to us.
We appreciate the sentiment, trust me - XanderFrost, on 09/15/2008, -5/+36Congrats Mr.Sulu.
- MrFurious2k, on 09/15/2008, -1/+29Is this a bad time to make a joke about avoiding Klingons on your wedding night?
As a side note, I met Mr. Takei about 7 years ago. He was one of the nicest stars I had ever met. He was genuinely friendly and happy to talk to his fans. I wish him total happiness. - hokie47, on 09/15/2008, -10/+38I am not sure if my marriage can survive this. Marriage used to be special but now anyone who is in love can get married. It's a nightmare. It has always been one man and one women. Why change it now? See what happened when we allowed women, and blacks to vote? Oh yeah nothing. My bad.
- MotleyTool, on 09/15/2008, -1/+29No, I believe it belongs to you.
- TheVirus, on 09/15/2008, -2/+29Glad they got married, I was worried after his bachelor party on Howard Stern's show. Congrats George and Brad.
- LilJimmyNordin, on 09/15/2008, -0/+26Buried for overexplanation.
- Myonosken, on 09/15/2008, -0/+25And....DO YOU...take..this MAN...to be your LAWfully...wedded husband.....

- ericjohnson0, on 09/15/2008, -5/+23Well, nice to see that George finally took Brad up the aisle.
- peaceninja, on 09/15/2008, -3/+21kudos for progress. i can understand people being against a 'gay marriage', since the word marriage is a heavily religious word, in fact i think marriage should be a church-level definition and not a government definition. but anyone who thinks that any two people who love each other should be denied the basic rights of marriage deserves a punch to the throat
- MotleyTool, on 09/15/2008, -8/+25I guess we'll know we've made it there when you no longer feel the need to comment on other people's use of the phrase happily married heterosexual and instead shut the ***** up you smug git.
- BoneheadFarker, on 09/15/2008, -2/+19Meh...it's probably for the best. He has a bad habit of stealing the show...
- kiiwii, on 09/15/2008, -2/+183 buries for this post... seriously? How can anyone bury "everyone has the right to wed the person they love"?
- fireant202, on 09/15/2008, -4/+20The BBC's story is very touching as well. Takei Ties the Knot! O well, his son Hiro's still out there for the ladies.

- SreyaNotfilc, on 09/15/2008, -0/+12LOL. The first thing that came to my mind was Fred (from The Howard Stern Show) playing that sound bite over and over again. Does anyone know if Howard is covering this?
- bicyclethief, on 09/15/2008, -0/+12Yes, yes. If we just go back to the 1950's, everything would be perfect...
