She also didn't lose the chance of being Miss USA because the winner ended up winning the gown and swimsuit competition in the first place.
Miss California may not be popular, but this whole thing about her losing her crown and chance of being Miss USA over her OPINION is nothing but stupidity on making herself act like the victim.

Her answer is not what got Perez upset, it was her lack of diplomacy. (For the record, I'm not Perez fan and I believe he himself could have showed more class, but it's Perez.)
It's one thing to say "I don't believe in gay marriage" and another to say "I don't believe in it, so therefore, laws should be made according to MY beliefs because that's how I was raised."
(BTW-her parents went through an ugly divorce, so I don't know what she means by "traditional" marriage. My parents are still married after 30 years and are not bigots. My dad is an atheist. I think he shows more of what traditional marriage is than Carrie's parents.)
In her country of California, imagine if the question had been asked about cigarettes:
"Do you think cigarettes should be legal in every state?"
A good answer would be:
"Well, I am not a smoker, but that does not mean other people are not. While I do not smoke and I don't condone the practice, I think people should be able to make that choice for themselves."
Instead, Miss America answered along the lines of:
"Well, I'm not a smoker and I don't condone it, so it shouldn't be legal."

Second if they are kicking her off because of her stance on gay marriage it is even more disturbing. I have no problems with gay marriage but this makes the supporters just as bad as those religious freaks. And btw anyone who thinks these girls have more to offer than eye candy is ***** retarded, this pageant is selling sex. I think they should have a portion of the contest where they compete nude. makes everyone happy.

Yes - I don't think I'd call Miss USA a career anyway, but I'd equate it to being a politician running around saying how they like to have cheap sex every other day with random girls - they're not going to get far, knowing the boundaries is part of the job and that goes with anyone in the public eye.
