His father was considerably abusive, tried to achieve success through his children (ever seen parents like that?), tried to oppress his children to keep that success (I think he tried to prevent one of his sons from marrying Berry Gordo's daughter for that reason), and so on. He was also born in 1958, so he probably grew up in a racist environment too.

I'm not old enough to remember the height of his career, but I do remember being a little kid in the late 80s and early 90s when MJ was still a huge icon. I can understand how it's hard for you to listen to anything of his without thinking of how horrible of a person that he is.
The man has TALENT and was literally on the same level as Elvis or The Beatles as a cultural icon before he started to get weird.
