- CreateTheFuture, on 11/06/2009, -7/+88I don't get it...can't anyone do this? Does anyone else think it doesn't look cool or special at all?
/notadouche;justasking - geodebug, on 11/06/2009, -1/+35I'm not a big MJ fan but I can see the merit in the piece. The artist using split up shots this way successfully evokes MJ's signature pop-n-lock dance moves that, even if you aren't a fan, you'd have to agree are iconic. As a tribute to MJ it is more successful I think than a standard portrait.
I think the sense of 'anybody can do that' is a very common human emotion. Remember that great athletes make it look easy, dancers make it look effortless, public speakers make a great speech seem natural, and great art often looks like it just 'accidentally' happened.
The best way to learn how challenging even copying an idea is is to give it a go yourself. Try creating your own photo montage and putting it out there for critique'. The internet makes getting honest feedback from the general public pretty easy. It's worthwhile even if you fail because you'll be that much more knowledgeable about how truly hard it is to come up with an original concept and execute it. - woodychris, on 11/06/2009, -3/+23You're not the only one. I don't see the allure of this either and would like someone to point out to me what is artistic about it.
- FormerBabby, on 11/06/2009, -1/+18I would like to make it crystal clear that Billie Jean is not my lover.

- WhoDoneIt, on 11/07/2009, -1/+7Why are you reading this?
- liquisoft, on 11/07/2009, -1/+7Art isn't about ease of execution, it's about the idea and the ABILITY to have the idea.
Yes, nearly anyone can do this, but not anyone would have the idea to do it in that instant, for this subject. - bobbymoney, on 11/07/2009, -2/+7some more than others
- R3publican, on 11/07/2009, -3/+8Like it or not, Michael Jackson touched each of us in one way or another.

- captininsanity, on 11/07/2009, -1/+5Sure hes more popular right now, but it's not like there still having his funeral. He's just having some posthumous popularity. Is it that so bad? I mean he did have some good music...

- StarWarsFever, on 11/07/2009, -2/+1yes anyone can do it, this is just the dude that did
- TheIndigoSky, on 11/07/2009, -2/+1Reminds me of "Unique Forms of Continuity in Space", by Umberto Boccioni. The artwork does not portray the subject, but rather the subject's motion. The artist renders the fluidity and movement of his subject in a way that makes the still artwork move, making the piece less about Jackson and more about the motion of his figure.
- chaos7, on 11/07/2009, -3/+2what is the big deal about this
