In his position as 'a HUGE media figure', he endorsed the ideals of multi-racialism, multi-culturalism, environmentalism, anti-war and anti-poverty. On smaller issues, his videos also discouraged gang fights and drug abuse. He successfully used his star power to raise millions for many worthy causes, most notably with his all-starring video 'We Are The World'.
Purely as an entertainer, MJ stood out and was a completely different force on his own when it came to talent, creativity and influence. At the peak of his career, he was in every accurate sense, a human phenomenon. Uniting so many people around the world for the love of something so natural, he broke cultural, racial, ageist and stereotypical boundaries everywhere and played no small part in shaping today's entertainment landscape.
Not one living entertainer today could, on their own, lead the world's youth like he did. He might not have found the cure for AIDS or anything, but lobbied for it strongly.
MJ did have a truly profound impact on the world, and his work will continue to fascinate many generations to come.
