"Found guilty of conspiracy to distribute cocaine hydrochloride based on hearsay but was found not guilty of the two counts of possession of cocaine and No evidence of drugs, drug residue, drug paraphernalia, or drug money was ever found in Greg’s possession. Only evidence against him was conflicting evidence by others in the conspiracy, some people whom had only met inadvertently."
Sentence? 15 years and 8 months. - kickinazz, on 11/16/2007, -1/+83I know money talks, but god damn this ***** is ***** up. These celebrity bitches must be giving out the ass to get cut so much slack.
- GRTWHT, on 11/16/2007, -0/+69Above the law NOW!? The rich, famous and simply 'well connected' have always been above the law in the U.S.
Of course, it's good to see that a few more people are beginning to notice this. - BurnTees, on 11/16/2007, -1/+57maybe you should change your name before you promote the site...idiot.
- meschmie, on 11/16/2007, -1/+47To quote the great Bob Dylan
"Couldn't help but make me feel ashamed to live in a land, Where justice is a game." - PixelD, on 11/16/2007, -2/+48She might be a whored out cokehead....but damn if I wouldn't ***** her like a bike.
- SiNN4R, on 11/16/2007, -17/+41To be fair she is white and rich. Why must you people constantly push your reverse racism and hold her to the same standards as minorities?
- Phatlip012, on 11/16/2007, -4/+26Possession of coke isn't a minor crime, hence everyone else getting 10+years in prison.
Go back to the Lindsay Lohan forums *****. - Andon, on 11/16/2007, -0/+21I think he's trying to make the point that this person was found guilty solely on hearsay and served a ridiculously long sentence, whereas Lindsay Lohan was found guilty WITH physical evidence, and only served 84 minutes.
- inactive, on 11/16/2007, -3/+23The law is only enforced for us: the slaves of the system in America.
- rudy23, on 11/16/2007, -0/+20am pretty sure he was being sarcastic. cmon guys loosen up a bit
- Shigglyboo, on 11/16/2007, -0/+17this would have been the perfect opportunity to "send the right message to the kids" and make an example of her.
- banq59, on 11/16/2007, -0/+16Dugg for man ***** a bike reference.
- luke123, on 11/16/2007, -1/+16Eighty-four minutes? Isn't there an appeals process? The inhumanity of it all. There must be some early parole for good behavior. Eighty-four minutes in Lindsay's life is like two years for other people. On a serious note, there's never been equity in sentencing in our judicial system. It's needed revamping almost from the start. Money buys justice.
- Tenlow, on 11/16/2007, -1/+16Or they're taking it in the ass. Either way there's some ass action going on that gets them out of jail.
- BurnTees, on 11/16/2007, -9/+22guilty of conspiracy to distribute is a lot different...not a good comparison IMO
- deejqu1k, on 11/16/2007, -5/+16Wrong she is rich and she is a woman. White has little to do with it. When will people realize that is not racism its classism that is americas biggest problem
- 570001, on 11/16/2007, -0/+11It took her 84 minutes to blow the sheriff?
- thatcrazycommie, on 11/16/2007, -2/+13Yeah, guilty based on hearsay (and conflicting testimony), which is not legally admissible evidence. Or, at least, not supposed to be.
- Heaiser, on 11/16/2007, -1/+10Seemed pretty heavy on the sarcasm to me... so I'm going to go with neither.
- Christbait, on 11/16/2007, -0/+8Lol ***** spammer.
- Zeonix, on 11/16/2007, -0/+8Except he didn't distribute and there was no evidence other than hearsay. They actually found her with coke, so she one-upped the dude who got nearly 16 years.
- ganymede2010, on 11/16/2007, -0/+8Drugs are legal, (If your a rich, famous, celeberity). Illegal If you're a hard working over taxed citizen. AMRITE?
- thekarmastrike, on 11/16/2007, -1/+8Do you REALLY believe they let your every day black dude from the hood out on cocaine possession in 84 minutes? Give me a ***** break, buddy. Newsflash: Police officers are humans, capable of lying. Attaching a signet of authority to them does not remove this.
- thatcrazycommie, on 11/16/2007, -2/+9Look, that other case doesn't even matter. Forget about it. What matters is the blatant preferential treatment. Are you really naive enough to believe that a black man convicted of identical charges to Lohan would not have served a vastly disproportionate sentence? If so, then you are the problem with this country.
- Pobotrol, on 11/16/2007, -1/+7Un-believable.
- rubixsphere, on 11/16/2007, -3/+9Theres too much money to be made from her being out of prison! How are we going to read about her messing up more if shes in. Its ridiculous
- WasabiBomb, on 11/16/2007, -0/+6Actually, she should've gotten exactly what a non-celebrity would've gotten. The problem is that she didn't, and THAT sends the wrong message to kids.
Dammit, Lindsay, you used to be so hot... - tizle, on 11/16/2007, -1/+7Paris Hilton should sue.
- tsotha, on 11/16/2007, -0/+5But you're okay with paying for their incarceration. How does that make sense? You think it's cheaper to keep someone in jail for a year than to pay for ER treatment a couple times?
- localzuk, on 11/16/2007, -3/+8The fact it was hearsay makes it a very good comparison...
- WasabiBomb, on 11/16/2007, -0/+4So the message you think the courts should send is, "do the crime and don't do the time in California"?
Do you want to bet that I can find more first DRUG misdemeanor offenders who got more than 84 minutes in jail than not? Like it or not, her celebrity and high-paid lawyer did more for getting her out of jail time than any prison overcrowding. - TsuruchiBrian, on 11/16/2007, -0/+4In that case being poor should be a crime too. Because you are forced to pay for poor people's education, medical care, food, and shelter with your tax money.
Are you mad about all taxes you are forced to pay? or just the ones that specifically go to people who have drug addiction problems?
Do you think that is more or less money than how much is spent trying to fight the "war on drugs" and keep them illegal? This includes all the costs of the bureaucracies involved in finding, prosecuting, and imprisoning people who do drugs. Not to mention that many of these people instead of having jobs are now sucking up money while doing nothing in jail except becoming more criminalized.
Meanwhile drug companies and the politicians they have on their payroll are making tons of money. The government has no problem keeping its citizens dependent upon drugs as long as they are the drugs that are generating money for the drug companies and the politicians are getting their cut. - Zeonix, on 11/16/2007, -0/+4Wtf are*
- inactive, on 11/16/2007, -2/+6Yeah, but if they caught Bob Dylan he probably wouldn't have gotten more than 84 minutes either.
- Zeonix, on 11/16/2007, -1/+5Why don't most diggers unable to detect sarcasm without there being /sarcasm at the end of a post?
- Swoyer, on 11/16/2007, -0/+4letting her off in 84 minutes sends a much worse message. I don't think she needs unfair treatment, but she for sure needs to do her time
- sgtpppr, on 11/17/2007, -0/+4People like you have ruined drugs for the rest of us.
- nnscott, on 11/16/2007, -0/+3Don't worry folks, she'll be back in jail in no time... for the same ***** too.
- chronichyjinx, on 11/16/2007, -0/+3Take someone else out in order to make room for this self destructive fool.
- Frei, on 11/16/2007, -0/+3I complete miss the point of booking and holding anyone in jail for 84 minutes. Is that supposed to be punishment, seems like a waste of resources and time.
- lostinspac3, on 06/23/2009, -1/+4I don't understand while most of the people here are shocked. For those of you that are, welcome to the world of haves and have nots...
- inactive, on 11/16/2007, -0/+3At least you admit to being a fool.
- bookishboy, on 11/16/2007, -7/+10Basically, yes. When you have a crime on the book with no victims, the government gets to prosecute that law against whoever society doesn't like.
Look at it like this. If all the instances of drug possession (which is a crime) that didn't get caught in your local town were replaced with robberies, the collective victims and their families would be beating down the doors of the police precincts and town hall to demand why the offenses against their rights weren't being redressed. Hell, even if instances of drug possession were replaced with vandalism, the town would be in an uproar.
There are no victims (no one whose rights have been violated) by all the instances of drug possession in our local town. So there's no outcry when those folks aren't caught, arrested, prosecuted. What's left is that the police/prosecutors can enforce these laws in the manner they deem best.... and this frequently results in harsher penalties for people who we as a society don't like as much. People who are brown. Who are poor, homeless or smell bad. People who the police went to high school with and didn't like. People who speak with accents. Etc, etc. - eddosa, on 11/16/2007, -0/+3I'm sure everybody in the station got autograph from her for their kids before she left jail...
- banq59, on 11/16/2007, -1/+4Yeah but not for Cocaine possession.
- hydrodev, on 11/16/2007, -0/+3you are sir. Thats why i do my drugs in the comfort and anonimity of my own home. and nowhere else
- henro112358, on 11/16/2007, -0/+384 mins is way under the federal mandatory minimum for a usable amount of coke. I also can't find a number for her total DUI's (She's not even 21) but 3 is a mandatory year in prison in most states. One is supposed to result in a minimum 1 year suspended license. Driving on a suspended license is a offense that results in jail time for proles. Wealth and fame determine her jail times not the law.
- inactive, on 11/16/2007, -5/+8Uhhhh, no they don't. NO ONE has gotten 10 years for possession of hte trace amount that Lindsay Lohan had on her.
Saying obvious ***** like thatwill NOT help the cause. - TsuruchiBrian, on 11/16/2007, -0/+3Do you just say things to be opinionated?
Try thinking before you say things.
That's what I do.
And thats why the arguments I make can not be reduced to absurdity so easily.
You are a prime example of how the money used for the "war on drugs" could be better spent on education in America. -
