- pocketjacks, on 07/22/2009, -3/+37Lewis Black = Automatic Digg up.
- kcrosthwaite, on 07/21/2009, -2/+26Bravo...Spot on!
- Bukowsky, on 07/21/2009, -1/+23Amen Brother.
MJ deserves coverage for what he did in the world of music, but it becomes a big problem when the media completely stops covering what is {still} going on in Iran or a crooked governor vacationing with his mistress on taxpayer money or barely mentions that Sarah Palin suddenly quits or the many other *IMPORTANT* issues currently going on. At this point, I could honestly careless about MJ. - Winkleman, on 07/21/2009, -6/+26Wait.... Michael Jackson died?!? How have I not heard about this?
/s - NaturalCauzes, on 07/22/2009, -0/+17"Only the good die young. Pricks live forever!"~Lewis Black
PS: His book is funny as *****. Good read. - CrazyEddie041, on 07/22/2009, -1/+17"Uh, uh, uh, well, um, you know, kind of like, you know, uh, uh, um, LOUD NOISES LOUD NOISES LOUD NOISES!"
*applause* - AshamedAmerican, on 07/22/2009, -2/+15I love this man.
- CrazyEddie041, on 07/22/2009, -0/+10Normally I find him funny, but this was basically just him stuttering for a few minutes then yelling for five seconds... not his funniest moment.
- kanojo1969, on 07/22/2009, -0/+8Not really. If you watch the whole interview you learn that his main job is playwright-in-residence at some theatre somewhere, and in that role over the years he's overseen the production of more than a thousand plays.
And you know during that time he mentored and helped out probably every big-name theatre actor in New York in the last 20 years. He's one of those behind the scenes guys who probably deserve a lot more recognition for what they do.
He started doing his daily show rant in 1996 and his public persona kind of grew out of that, but in reality he's not that guy most of the time. - jboitnott, on 07/21/2009, -3/+9He's hilarious. One of the funniest fora's I've seen in a long time.
- Dauntless1, on 07/22/2009, -0/+6No, the fact that she *quit* was important. It means we can start the party now. :)
- cjr71244, on 07/22/2009, -1/+7If it weren’t for my horse, I never would have spent that year in college…
- ZiggityZhang, on 07/21/2009, -2/+8Let's see how many buries you get.
- tnoy, on 07/22/2009, -1/+7I agree.. minus the part about Sarah Palin being important.
- inactive, on 07/22/2009, -2/+8The media coverage was completely appropriate, it is the 40th anniversary of the moonwalk people!
- tmyprod, on 07/22/2009, -0/+5That's exactly why he should be in the government!
- LaurenHoleman, on 07/22/2009, -1/+6Al Franken did.
- tmyprod, on 07/22/2009, -1/+6Why can't these kinds of comedians run for public office?
- jkash23686, on 07/22/2009, -0/+4I couldn't agree more.
- oldhick, on 07/22/2009, -0/+4Presentation and delivery are important.
- thejackyl, on 07/22/2009, -0/+4It's Lewis Black. He's a chill guy.
- Dauntless1, on 07/22/2009, -0/+4Well, Billy Mays wasn't exactly *young*, he just wasn't all that old yet. But all the proof we have of pricks living forever sits in congress every day.
- motivatedguy, on 07/22/2009, -2/+5I like how people that are pissed off at the Michael Jackson coverage keep bringing attention to it.
- CasualNinja, on 07/22/2009, -0/+3He's funny.
- inactive, on 07/22/2009, -0/+3Billy Mays dying and Vince Offer living on proves that.
- ElSantos, on 07/22/2009, -0/+3Make sure you listen to the audio book as well, it's ten times funnier with his delivery included.
- thejackyl, on 07/22/2009, -0/+3Lewis probably wants absolutely nothing to do with the government,
- ikeeel4money, on 07/22/2009, -1/+3someone please type what he said.
- Patzer111, on 07/22/2009, -0/+2Lewis Black is awesome...
"Flu season's back again. Every year apparently some guy gets on a boat in Formosa, forgets to wipe himself, and we get the flu! He get's off the boat, "how 'ya doin'? how 'ya doin'?" - norman619, on 07/22/2009, -1/+3It appears as though comedy is lost on you.
- unicoumi, on 07/22/2009, -0/+2trust me the "/s" is not necessary when it comes to these types of comments. yes this has been said many a times.
- pagno, on 07/22/2009, -0/+2I bet she got a gig at Fox.
- ThatsNotPoetry, on 07/22/2009, -0/+2Poor Caravaggio. No one understands you.
- wmuldoon, on 07/22/2009, -0/+2Crack snorting?
you're doing it wrong. - SD70MACMAN, on 07/22/2009, -0/+2He was trying so hard not to yell out the word "*****"
- Farenyth, on 07/22/2009, -0/+1To be honest, he looked a little amphetamine'd [if not the more mundane caffeine and lack of sleep] up--this may not have been an interview where he was on his best.
- fafaforza, on 07/22/2009, -1/+2Wasn't really saying anything insightful, though. Expected something more. Nothing that hasn't been said before by many people about the state of American news. All you have to do to see the difference is watch the BBC or some other international sources.
- TheMu, on 07/22/2009, -0/+1I have a feeling that the stuttering thing was connected to the fact that the event was publicized by CBS News and thus, it was a "clean" interview. I mean, the only way a guy like Lewis can blow off steam is by dropping a few F-bombs, really. I suppose it's that or the stuttering.
- akchrs, on 07/22/2009, -6/+7The only people talking about Michael Jackson now are the people whining about the coverage.
- AraleNorimaki, on 07/22/2009, -0/+1here a better one
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzdXcTIBDW0 - norman619, on 07/22/2009, -2/+3They are bringing attention to it? It was impossible to miss. It was as if the network news felt Iran and the countless other far more important things that were going on at the time lost all importance. You are pretty ignorant if you think complaining about it does anything more than let people know how rediculous it was.
- fafaforza, on 07/22/2009, -2/+3How else will you bring attention to how obsession with celebrity is preempting real issues by talking about how obsession with celebrity is preempting real issues? And using real world examples to boot?
Shut up about it?
This is a serious question. Because this "talking about it only gets it more attention" quip is used quite often any time someone voices a complaint. - pagno, on 07/22/2009, -0/+1That really doesnt make any sense.
- inactive, on 07/22/2009, -1/+2So they can talk about Perry Mason in the halls of the Senate like an IMDB forum?
- nosenseofself, on 07/22/2009, -0/+1if you really want to get a good idea of what he was trying to say since most of that bit was stuttering I suggest you watch the whole thing. it's about 50 minutes I know but it's really not bad.
- mousersix, on 07/22/2009, -0/+0i want to digg this twice
- Cyborg31, on 07/25/2009, -0/+0lol dumbass, you're the one that got it wrong.
He could care less i.e. his care level can decrease.
You can NOT care less i.e. your care level can NOT decrease.
Dumbasses like you mix it up all the time. - Axxion, on 07/22/2009, -1/+1Yeah, thats why George Carlin is my favorite comedian. I like COMEDY, not common scenarios yelled out with a crazy flailing motion of the hands.
- ZenMojo, on 07/22/2009, -1/+1Lewis Black interrupts substantive interview to comment on people abandoning substantive news coverage to comment on Michael Jackson. Down the rabbit hole...
