- DrZsbl, on 05/02/2009, -1/+48He was an impressionist, not a magician.
- Laminarcissus, on 05/03/2009, -1/+21Magician?
I think this is the first time I've ever seen on Digg where the *submitter* didn't even read the ***** article. - Janinco, on 05/02/2009, -3/+18So sad.
- bixby1, on 05/02/2009, -2/+16Every time I go to Vegas I see those billboards of him with the white tiger. Really a loss and much too soon.
- seltaeb4, on 05/03/2009, -0/+13As opposed to the Kingdome of Seattle?
- Intention, on 05/03/2009, -10/+22And now.. I will make him REAPPEAR!!
- pennvneff, on 05/03/2009, -0/+10lol since when was Danny Gans a magician?
- nysus, on 05/03/2009, -0/+9Well, it's pretty simple. There are the deaths where you get to say goodbye to your loved ones and then there are the ones where you die suddenly without any warning or indication. That we could go to sleep tonight, with no indication that anything is wrong, and not ever wake up is frightening. Maybe you don't have a kid? I sure as hell wouldn't want to leave my kid like that. It's a scary thought.
- robotmaster, on 05/03/2009, -0/+7What caused him to die so early? He was only 52.
- Fabbyfubz, on 05/03/2009, -0/+6Otherwise known as GDTIWHTTRTTKOH
- Fygee, on 05/03/2009, -0/+4Errr...that's not Danny Gans.
- craftyshrew, on 05/03/2009, -1/+5In contrast to how cheesy his billboards were, his show was hysterical.
RIP Danny - inactive, on 05/03/2009, -0/+4He was one of the biggest acts in Vegas for years and voted #1 act in LV by the LVRJ more than once. Unfortunately, he was relatively unknown outside of LV.
- nysus, on 05/03/2009, -0/+3You can educate yourself about idioms here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idiom
Google the phrase "invented the phrase" and you'll see 144,000 instances. It's a very common expression. - nysus, on 05/03/2009, -1/+4Frightening that you can just go like that. They guy was perfectly healthy and very health conscious according to other articles I read. What a loss of for his family and friends who didn't even get to say goodbye to him.
This is why they invented the phrase "seize the day." - thetanman, on 05/03/2009, -0/+3I wonder what happened? He was really built, I wonder if it had anything to do with supplements or something putting stress on his heart. He looked pretty frickin' healthy last time I saw him on TV at a golf tournament.
- DephexTwin, on 05/03/2009, -0/+2A friend of mine from Argentina always uses "passed away" when he means "passed out".
- DCGaymer, on 05/03/2009, -1/+3Vegas, the black hole of entertainment.
- inactive, on 05/03/2009, -0/+2 Better article by LVRJ: http://www.lvrj.com/news/44221857.html
Sorry I never got to see his show. - inactive, on 05/03/2009, -0/+2you *****' owned 'em, nysus.
- DirtyVicar, on 05/03/2009, -0/+2He's a fan of Batman, not Danny Gans.
- knute5, on 05/03/2009, -0/+2Well, Kenny Rogers said that's the best that you can hope for ...
- filovirus, on 05/03/2009, -0/+2Dugg for DIES and not Passed Away.
- Pawfoots, on 05/04/2009, -0/+2I never got watch Siegfried and Roy... Now I'll never get to watch Danny Gans
The only entertainer I got to see was Wayne Newton. - Joshper85, on 05/03/2009, -2/+4ta da
- edwinjose, on 05/05/2009, -0/+1Now he is going to resurrect himself 3 days later.. and brag about all the "sacrifices" he did for all mankind.
- Liverboy, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1I never saw his act and don't know him or anything but if you spent any time in Vegas over the past 15 or so years you know that he was a staple there. And to just up and die so suddenly like that adds to just the miscellaneous nature of the bummer. Unfortunate.
- darylkff, on 05/03/2009, -0/+1Yeah, he used to be a professional baseball player, so I knew he always stayed in really good shape.
- Eschewy, on 05/03/2009, -6/+7I'll be the first jerk to say it - he was a mediocre impressionist. Go ahead, give me the thumbs down, but if you watch any of his youtube videos, you'll see what I mean.
- Xanderrr, on 05/03/2009, -1/+2I didn't even get to see him! I always told myself I'd see him every time I went to Vegas... :( :(
- EDViNNY27, on 05/03/2009, -0/+1thats not him!!! the siegfried and roy billboards aren't even in town. That show has been canceled for awhile now.
He'll be missed though - smacksaw, on 05/03/2009, -0/+1The Kingdome Of Heaven?
So you mean that in heaven, people are having sex under blankets on the 300 level during Mariners games?
Sounds just like Seattle, circa 1996. - ncrev, on 05/03/2009, -1/+2I have not seen his youtube videos but I did see him perform live and he was a very good entertainer.

7 billion go in, one comes out. - graemee, on 05/03/2009, -0/+1Or in the original Kilingon "Carpe Diem"
- darkism, on 05/03/2009, -0/+1"What the heck was this guy doing down in Vegas."
Making a living by putting on a long-running show on the strip, first at The Mirage and then moving to Encore earlier this year? - FoxtrotYankee, on 05/03/2009, -0/+1He was a talented guy and his show was kinda fun. But, I didn't think it was worth the $100 ticket.
Given the ticket price (this was 7-8 years ago when a $100 ticket was very high end in Vegas), I was expecting a lot more.
He was definitely not the "best entertainer in Vegas". - schroderr224, on 05/03/2009, -1/+2He was the best entertainer in Vegas. The best show you could see.
- rmmcclay, on 05/03/2009, -0/+1Never heard of him until now. RIP.
- JugularJuice, on 05/03/2009, -0/+1Sad story but seriously I'm impressed someone could tell he was dead in his sleep at 3am and not just.... sleeping....
- jordanlgta, on 05/05/2009, -0/+1Wow. I was there two weeks ago. I saw his posters everywhere.
- Notso1346, on 05/03/2009, -1/+1Did he die? Or is he pulling off the greatest magic trick ever...?
- moxley, on 05/03/2009, -2/+2And for my next trick.....Oh..*****.
- duggtodeath, on 05/03/2009, -5/+5I lol'd.
- cran, on 05/03/2009, -1/+1A Las Vegas entertainer?!?! For a whole decade!?!? How terrible!!!
Or is it? - ampdj89, on 05/03/2009, -1/+1http://www.westvegas.com/nightclubs/UP_DANNY_GANS_ ...
Ever since I was a kid, we would go to Vegas periodically to enjoy, and every time I would stare out the window, Danny's billboards would be everywhere, even at taxicabs. I would see this image as if it was the symbol of Vegas, never get to see him much at all but his presence all over Vegas was permanently implanted on my brain, usually because I was a kid. Seeing this tragedy, I simply got shocked.
My condolences to his family. - tombkilla, on 05/03/2009, -2/+1Who dies at 52 nowadays? NFL linebackers and pro boxers. What the heck was this guy doing down in Vegas.
Did anyone else notice they totally sidestepped that issue in that article? What happened did he have cancer or does this have to stay in Vegas... - DanClement, on 05/03/2009, -1/+0I searched for some of his stuff on the web after I saw him referenced in an episode of Family Guy (I come across most stuff like that actually) and he was brilliant at what he did.
A true loss for the entertainment world. -
