- inactive, on 06/04/2009, -3/+35Interview left me wanting a better interview.
- palehorse864, on 06/04/2009, -0/+29Hmm, a part in a Woody Allen film.
These pretzels, are making me thirsty! - cyoder, on 06/04/2009, -2/+24He's crazy if he thinks "no one wants to see this old man on TV" anymore. I was pretty disappointed that there wasn't a new season of CYE last fall, and I'm stoked for the next.
- SRSco, on 06/04/2009, -0/+21I find interviews like this annoying as hell. The interviewer had to point out that he was also Jewish and therefore was okay to try his hardest at attempting to ask questions like he, himself was Larry David? You don't need to mirror a celebrity's style and persona to have a good interview. Larry David will be Larry David regardless. The unfunny questions regarding tolerating lactose and garlic content of the hummus were just obnoxious.
Also, I'm glad Larry put the smack down regarding the curse. - JDanner3, on 06/03/2009, -6/+27That was boring.
- Logan2784, on 06/04/2009, -1/+19It's an interview....about nothing.
- ganymede2010, on 06/04/2009, -0/+13Best Larry David Joke: "Who's more free, a married man in America, or a single man in Communist China? A single man in China can't leave the country, a married man in America can't even leave the house!"
- avaris15, on 06/04/2009, -0/+12Anyone can be confident with a full head of hair. But a confident bald man - there's your diamond in the rough.
- inactive, on 06/04/2009, -3/+13Read the article, douchebox.
He said it's annoying when people claim there's a curse, not this, "omg I can't do anything since Seinfeld with my $200 million" - smedrick, on 06/04/2009, -1/+10He said it's annoying because it puts the Seinfeld actors in a bad light. He's only looking out for his people.
- rjpedigo, on 06/04/2009, -0/+9Woody and LD together! I'm in old ,neurotic, atheistic, self absorbed, sex obsessed, New York Jew heaven.
- Maxwell1234, on 06/04/2009, -0/+8LD is the man! Can't wait for the next season of CYE. We need another John Mcenroe cameo. "Hey Mac, I'm *****-faced!"
- malcolmlo, on 06/04/2009, -1/+8Head writer of Sienfeld...The dude has my respect. One of the best comedy sitcoms of all-time.
- Aaronthethird, on 06/04/2009, -1/+7My thoughts exactly! That interview was horrible.
- saegiru, on 06/04/2009, -0/+6I want to see this old man on TV, Larry David is the funniest man alive.
- 0tis, on 06/04/2009, -0/+6Seriously, what was the interviewer trying to do?
- st0ney, on 06/04/2009, -0/+6Agreed, the interviewer was, for the lack of a better term, a total douche. He kept trying to be witty and sarcastic. It seems to me that when you are interviewing someone like LD you would just guide him along and he will take care of adding humor.
After reading the interview I was reminded of my favorite quote from Billy Madison:
"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul." - inactive, on 06/04/2009, -1/+5you just need to curb your enthusiasm...
(i know BOOOO!)
yeah i was expecting something funny or insightful with this interview, yuck! - joshua5, on 06/04/2009, -0/+3SR: You don't think there was a curse?
LD: Are you crazy? It's so annoying to hear something like that. There was no curse. It's crazy. So there were two TV shows attempted that didn't work? Big deal. How many TV shows work? - charlietuna, on 06/04/2009, -1/+4Classic interview to hawk a movie with no real revelations, in fact the interviewer was obviously fishing for material, and David would have none of it. Clever writer, but I'm not into neo-yiddish humor so much.
- Fallout911, on 06/04/2009, -1/+4The idiot that did the interview should be fired.
David doesn't do these things too often and when he does morons like this ruin it. - calon9, on 06/04/2009, -0/+3It was boring, and yet if it was videotaped it probably would have been interesting. Larry David just always comes across funny and better on video.
- oda1, on 06/04/2009, -0/+3If the general public got a hold of Larry David's sense of humor, there'd be chaos in the streets.
- trentrezn0r, on 06/04/2009, -0/+2Yea, another misleading subject line. These submitters are getting more schiesty than the media with their catching misleading headlines.
- kanojo1969, on 06/04/2009, -2/+4Honestly, what an empty pile of crap of an interview. Was it an interview? Did the guy just find himself sitting next to Larry, so he typed up what he eavesdropped and took esquire's money for it?
Actually, I clicked around some of their other articles and they are all terrible. Years ago I used to read the print version occasionally and it's wasn't too bad. Things have really gone downhill there. - Whatasillyhat, on 06/04/2009, -1/+3I enjoyed that.
- MargotCross, on 06/03/2009, -19/+21annoying? tell him to wipe his tears with badillion dollars.
- offthewagon, on 06/04/2009, -0/+2He could have throw the waiter a bone with that "The plate is hot, please don't touch the plate" line. I thought that was a decent reference.
- ZonGuy, on 06/04/2009, -1/+3The terribleness of that interview is what made it so good. Larry David is a horrible person to get along with and/or converse with. On screen, however, his neurotic tendencies make us laugh.
- jordanlgta, on 06/04/2009, -1/+3Larry David is one of the most creative people we have in show business, but so many people still don't know who he is.
- WiretapStudios, on 06/04/2009, -0/+2So good in fact, that you spelled Seinfeld wrong. Also, he is the co-creator, just being the head writer isn't as amazing.
- warplayer, on 06/05/2009, -0/+1It felt like the interviewer was trying to riff with Larry and he was completely oblivious to it. Lame.
- nepidae, on 06/05/2009, -0/+1comedy sitcom. is that like a pin number?
- petebot, on 06/04/2009, -1/+2The writer, he’s very clever, but the neo-yiddish humor...eh, not so much. Give me a pratfall, or some sketch comedy, but this neo-yiddish bupkus--not for me.
*wave hands dismissively*
Now, why haven’t you called your mother? She’s worried sick, you know! - cyoder, on 06/04/2009, -0/+1"OK, a simple 'wrong' would have been fine, but uh..."
- WiretapStudios, on 06/04/2009, -0/+1Less than or = to.
- icefox98, on 06/04/2009, -0/+1Let me do interviews, Esquire.
This was sadly terrible, and I'm a huge LD fan! - WiretapStudios, on 06/04/2009, -0/+1Not if you are asking the right questions.
- LomasLou, on 06/04/2009, -0/+0Jerry Seinfeld received most of the credit (and probably most of the money) for the Seinfeld show. However evaluating what he's done, versus what Larry David has done post-Seinfeld, it's obvious that David was the creative force behind the Seinfeld series. Watching Seinfeld do his act, it's obvious he's just an average comedian.
Like flaming globes, Sigmund - Cglass, on 06/04/2009, -1/+1A++++++ Comment would + you up again.
- NBCLocal, on 06/24/2009, -0/+0I especially love in the previews when his skinny old man legs are visible. There is no better side of Larry David.
- netwark, on 06/04/2009, -0/+0Terrible interview. Who cares about the Hummus.
- petebot, on 06/04/2009, -2/+1"one of"? Oh right, forgot about Curb...
- ph0replay, on 06/04/2009, -4/+3That was a big bowl of wrong.
- alkajazz, on 06/04/2009, -4/+2Curb your enthusiasm>Seinfeld.
- inactive, on 06/04/2009, -5/+2Poor Larry David.
- inactive, on 06/04/2009, -5/+1And he should know about annoying.
