- spynes, on 01/05/2009, -2/+119the xenu is strong with this one.
- doublefelix, on 01/05/2009, -1/+107According to the article $14.4 million of that was spent on real estate, which would leave Katie with a negative $400 grand to spend. Love the accurate reporting!
- badqat, on 01/05/2009, -2/+105I'd say she deserves to spend every single penny she can get her hands on for having to deal with Cruise.
It's just a form of self-medication that doesn't involve alcohol or drugs. - keltin, on 01/05/2009, -2/+81They made their money legally, as far as I know. What does it matter how they spend their money, at least as far as the public is concerned. We have no right to tell them what to spend it on, or to tut-tut their spending habits if they don't agree with ours.
Get a life, people. - ZeeZee2k, on 01/05/2009, -0/+52most of it in here
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/224/487793983_8d682 ... - BeShirtHappy, on 01/05/2009, -4/+52It's hard to imagine spending $14m in just 6 months.
- Wulffy, on 01/05/2009, -2/+39I think I do that in 2 to 3 lifes...
- stephhicks68, on 01/05/2009, -6/+28Really? In my family, we couldn't even spend $14,000 in 6 months on shopping - and we have 4 kids.
- hello3u, on 01/05/2009, -0/+21But she ain't messin' wit no broke Xenu
- vwerf, on 01/05/2009, -1/+21Wow that's alot in bribes....even for Scientology
- mrzeero, on 01/05/2009, -1/+21You must not have much of an imagination.
- kouchan21, on 01/05/2009, -0/+18If you buy 3 apartments, it is.
Buying real estate in NYC is not really a "spending spree".. it's investment imho. - mrwho420, on 01/05/2009, -0/+18It's all relative. 14million for these guys is nothing. You guys ever think about this..? Hypothetically let's say someone makes exactly $1mil/year....that works out to roughly $20,000/week or $80,000/month and that's ONLY making ONE million a year....let's just for the hell of it say that Tom Cruise only starred in one movie last year...I believe he gets paid around $20million per movie. So let's break it down...last year he made roughly $400,000/week or $1.6million/month. People with this much $ don't give a ***** when they spend $2000 on a lunch or $300,000 on a car b/c its so insignificant comparatively to their income. These numbers only SEEM large to average income people. It's all relative.
- vwerf, on 01/05/2009, -1/+19Nah she's just riding Toms thetens
- drhamr, on 01/05/2009, -2/+19i'd hit it
- mrcaulfield, on 01/05/2009, -2/+17Now, I ain't sayin' she a gold digga'
- inactive, on 01/05/2009, -1/+16I know how I can spend $2000 in one hour...
- phatfiend, on 01/05/2009, -5/+19buried because if this goes to FP it will just be people bitching because they don't have as much money to spend and saying its unethical etc etc...
- caffeinejunkie, on 01/05/2009, -1/+13If you had that much money, you'd spend it too.
- inactive, on 01/05/2009, -2/+12Yeah but can she still suck a dick???
- leif777, on 01/05/2009, -2/+12... and she's buying a stairway to xenu
- leif777, on 01/05/2009, -0/+9yes, she does... but it'll cost you 14M$ if she dresses up like a boy and not tell anyone about it
- kidwithsword, on 01/05/2009, -0/+9This proves that celebrities should be our economic stimulus plan.
- idontlikeyou2, on 01/05/2009, -0/+9It's their money.
- shandromand, on 01/05/2009, -0/+8Obligatory I'd let her ride my thetans comment.
- AmyVernon, on 01/05/2009, -2/+10Thanks, Katie! :-)
- thscientist1, on 01/05/2009, -2/+10$7,315 for going out to eat?
ill be honest thats not alot at all... My father is a chef in one of the high class restaurants, and usually a tab is about $500 on dinner- drinks included but without a bottle of wine.
now this in 6 months? not a big deal in my opinion - gavdana, on 01/05/2009, -2/+10Two words: "a" and "lot"
- diggdowner, on 01/05/2009, -0/+7I think I'll watch "The Gift" again. You know, in her honor.
- snaglepuss, on 01/05/2009, -2/+9If they think that is big, wait until they add up her tab for scientology auditing.
- OutpostNetwork, on 01/05/2009, -4/+11"According to the publication, she and Cruise have bought three new apartments in the building where he has owned his home since 1985."
That makes no sense. How can a home have 3 apartments and why would you buy 3 apartments other than to combine them, good luck getting the approval to do that. - inactive, on 01/05/2009, -0/+7Well. for one thing, it is not all that uncommon to get adjacent apartments...even if you can't combine it. And for another, it is not all that uncommon to get the approval. Not for celebrities with tons of money.
- kenhatesemos, on 01/05/2009, -0/+7of course all us poor folks can't imagine spending 14 million dollars in that short amount of time, but i guarantee that if you had that much expendable cash, you would do the same thing. and buying apartments while the economy is in a slump is a good investment. plus as thscientist1 said, 7k for 6 months worth of dinner at new yorks most expensive restaurants is not that big of a deal.
- opticwind, on 01/05/2009, -2/+8Being rich isn't a crime.
- iet2004, on 01/05/2009, -0/+6It doesn't say 3 apartments in one house. it says in one home. a home is anywhere you live. so...his home is a building with multiple apartments. read a book. like volleydigg said, they might just be getting them even though they can't combine them, but chances are they are able to combine. we obviously don't have the blueprints for this building.
- bakamas, on 01/05/2009, -0/+6This is misleading. They spent almost all of that on 3 apartments (rumored). The title makes it seem like she spent 14 million on shopping.
- eatinshramps, on 01/05/2009, -1/+6Scientologist or not...its ALL pink in the middle.
- TheScreamer, on 01/05/2009, -0/+5ummm ever heard of real estate investment? I'm sure Trum has more than one crib in the Big Apple.
- forsight, on 01/05/2009, -1/+6who cares.
- sfgeek, on 01/05/2009, -0/+5Yes, but when you have an epic fortune of their scale and NYC real estate is in the pooper, it's actually (I'm shocked) very smart. If you can afford it, NYC real estate is a great investment right now.
I think her and her looney ass husband know their days are numbered, even joe schmoe knows how f*d in the head scientology has him and she is likely just a plant wife as was Kidman in her day. This is building of a war chest. - tango1110, on 01/05/2009, -0/+4BREAKING NEWS: WHO GIVES A *****!
- kinseyincanada, on 01/05/2009, -3/+7why the ***** is this on the frontpage? who really gives a ***** home much some piss ant celebrity spends in one month? are your lives really that pathetic that you even care remotely about this? Or are you just trying to use this to somehow bash scientology once again.
- j0se, on 01/05/2009, -2/+6Yup look at 50 cent and Kanye West.
- lilhelper, on 01/05/2009, -0/+4It's her money
- sathias, on 01/05/2009, -1/+4Maybe they are doing a Scientology remake of Brewster's Millions
- zaferk, on 01/05/2009, -0/+3never quite understood how or why new york is so expensive. anybody wanna give me an example of how ***** insane real estate is there?
- SteaminTmann, on 01/05/2009, -0/+3She came to New York, and she realized.... she realized she was the only one that can help... They are the authority on economics, the authority on spending
- hoodoodave, on 01/05/2009, -1/+4I wish I could afford to be so patriotic.
- inactive, on 01/05/2009, -1/+4Next you'll be saying that dog-houses are relatively smaller for people than they are for dogs!
