- agaiziunas, on 11/11/2008, -10/+58It is a shame Carlin did not live to see Obama elected, and a genuine tradgedy we will never again be graced by new material from one of the all-time geniuses of comedy, George Denis Patrick Carlin. Hats off to a great performer, he deserves being honored.
Oh, by the way, f*ck the protesters at the Kennedy Center protesting the event. They need to get a life, seriously. In George's defense, I say those motherf***ing c***suckers need to f**k a c**t filled with s**t and p*ss while being sprayed in the face by t*ts filled with milk. (that's all 7 words, isn't it??) - MasterGrief, on 11/11/2008, -2/+40I appreciate your sentiment, but how can someone who appears to like George Carlin so much leave a comment on digg so heavily censored?
*****! - BuckNutty, on 11/11/2008, -0/+33Best comedian ever. The day Carlin died was one step closer to Idiocracy.
- arrogantprick, on 11/11/2008, -0/+23"Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption, and the Ice Capades. Something is definitely wrong. This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed. Results like these do not belong on the resume of a Supreme Being. This is the kind of ***** you'd expect from an office temp with a bad attitude. And just between you and me, in any decently-run universe, this guy would've been out on his all-powerful ass a long time ago."
- George Carlin, R.I.P. - Travelsonic, on 11/11/2008, -0/+17I take it by all the ***'d words, you meant ***** Piss ***** ***** ***** ***** and *****, right?
- thatsgoodkarma, on 11/11/2008, -0/+14Cheers to the seven dirty words.
- binky79, on 11/11/2008, -1/+12Whats the latest from George Carlin on the sanctity of life?
- RealmDown, on 11/11/2008, -2/+11***** doesn't even belong in list man.....
- Travelsonic, on 11/11/2008, -1/+8"Such a huge loss.
as Carlin would say "*****!""
Fixd - inactive, on 11/11/2008, -0/+5Webyatri, he used to joke about how he disliked those words, where people lived in denial by using words like "passed, expired" etc. I am merely honoring his wishes when referencing him, while making a little joke about it.
- xGeneric, on 11/11/2008, -0/+5"You know who I pray to? Joe Pesci. Joe Pesci. Two reasons; first of all, I think he's a good actor. Okay. To me, that counts. Second; he looks like a guy who can get things done. Joe Pesci doesn't ***** around. Doesn't ***** around. In fact, Joe Pesci came through on a couple of things that God was having trouble with. For years I asked God to do something about my noisy neighbor with the barking dog. Joe Pesci straightened that *****-sucker out with one visit.
I noticed that of all the prayers I used to offer to God, and all the prayers that I now offer to Joe Pesci, are being answered at about the same 50 percent rate. Half the time I get what I want. Half the time I don't. Same as God 50-50. Same as the four leaf clover, the horse shoe, the rabbit's foot, and the wishing well. Same as the mojo man. Same as the voodoo lady who tells your fortune" - inactive, on 11/11/2008, -0/+4He didn't "pass", he died. He's dead...a dead *****.
(If you're a fan of Carlin, you'd know this is purely respectful) - BitterStoat, on 11/11/2008, -0/+4If anything, the protesters were a testament to Carlin: they showed how much his works were, and still are needed, and that me made an impact.
- Bertram23, on 11/11/2008, -0/+4Truly he was a modern man.
- saeglopur, on 11/11/2008, -0/+4Please tell me you've typed "grammer" on purpose...
- OpaqueMurdock, on 11/11/2008, -0/+3@agaiziunas
Although I think he would have been happy to see us make this choice in regards to its social implications, I get the feeling he would have been reserved in his optimism about the future. Politicians would have had to actually accomplish a LOT to impress him... and for good reason. I have to say as much as I am looking forward to the next 4 years, I also know that a lot of work has to be done. We elected a smart man who will surround himself with other smart people, but I think at best George might have taken an attitude along the lines of "a bit less cynical". : ) - inactive, on 11/11/2008, -0/+3I loved his musings on grammer and spelling... I wish I could remember the name of it now.
- wipis, on 11/11/2008, -0/+3Still waiting for someone to pick up where he left off. But I don't think someone will ever fill his shoes.
- jeffreylowy, on 11/11/2008, -0/+3Joe bless you!
- the2989, on 11/11/2008, -1/+4Buried for self-censorship and laughing at your own joke.
- xGeneric, on 11/11/2008, -0/+3Pft, those protesters are ***** once Joe Pesci gets there.
- inactive, on 11/11/2008, -4/+6To see Obama elected? George Carlin knows that the election is controlled and neither party is different:

Its called free speech, and digg is one of the places to really enjoy the *****, *****, ***** right to do it, live a little, we wont get offended, :-) - ngmcs8203, on 11/11/2008, -0/+2link goes to: http://www.digitalfuntown.com/videos/97 - not sure what it is, but I'm very cautious with the obligatory tinyurl when no mention of the originating site.
- junkneo, on 11/12/2008, -0/+2One of the greatest comedian with substance. Always Carlin.
George Carlin and Richard Pryor would have been happy to see Barrack Obama as President since he fits into their ideologies. - angelgabe, on 11/11/2008, -1/+3Carlin was my hero. He passed just down the road from where I live and when I heard the news I was heart broken. If you want to read an incredible "eulogy" for Carlin you should read the one written by his friend and admirer Kevin Smith at viewaskew.com. It's very much worth the read for any George Carlin fan.
- first2di3, on 11/11/2008, -0/+2George Carlin will always be my favorite comedian. Him and Nine Inch Nails are the most played artists on my iPod.
When I found out he had died, and before I had ever got to see him Live, I teared up a little and my heart sank.... it was a sad sad day. - ZombieSociety, on 11/11/2008, -0/+2Clearly, having no sense of humor whatsoever, you're not fit to comment on what is or is not funny.
- TheUngod, on 11/11/2008, -0/+2Yeah right. Keep waiting. It's a sick sad world that Carlin dies and Mencia isn't shot down.
- nytel, on 11/11/2008, -0/+2I love George Carlin! Bill Maher honored him too ya know.
- secrity, on 11/11/2008, -0/+2Uh, no - Carlin didn't use '*' when he spoke.
- Takfam, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1If there's a heaven, and just god presiding over it, George is there. He is the quintessential example of a great person whom God would accept for his heart and The Church would shun for his mind.
- svensksvamp, on 11/11/2008, -3/+4always sad when people pass away. although I wasn't a big fan of his comedy.
- the2989, on 11/11/2008, -3/+4It's my belief that Carlin is one of the few who has truly defied death. He may have died, but his legacy will live forever with his fans. RIP George!
- Heapbasket, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1Was a great guy
- Bertram23, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1You know i like to think he's down there right now...
- secrity, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1It is a ***** anti-Obama video -- I am running a virtual instance of Linux, so I can get all of the ***** off that I picked up going to that site.
- angelgabe, on 11/26/2008, -0/+1Dude, I wasn't offended at all. Lighten up, take a joke.
- melance, on 11/17/2008, -0/+1well put
- G0dspeed, on 11/12/2008, -0/+1LOL, one of the few? are you serious? i think carlin is a great comedian and i love him. but as time passes by, he's going to be forgotten. we are not talking about einstein or martin luther king here.
- acegi, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1i miss him so much...
i wonder if they dropped his body off the plane and buried him where he landed. - jake86, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1The Carlin we know is gone.
Don't try and bring him back with some supernatural voodoo.
It's just too painful. - BXRWXR, on 11/11/2008, -2/+2Why don't you go practice throwing yourself down flights of stairs why the big people talk.
- vans, on 11/11/2008, -1/+1Whatever the case, I think that we can be sure that George is up there right now, smiling down on us. Or screaming up at us. You decide.
- dext3r, on 11/11/2008, -2/+1BOOOOOOOOOOOOO
- vans, on 11/11/2008, -1/+0'Twas but a reference to this bit, good sir: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4fpRKkZGT0
An homage in kind, if you will. - lilmentor3, on 11/11/2008, -2/+1i disagree.
even as a person who also agree that the two party are of the same interest....
I still think it is amazing that in a country built on slavery/racism, that it is a great thing to see a black man become president.
but there is more work to be done, in terms of racism. and seeing a black man reach such a high position can only give us hope and higher expectations.
this cuts against the cynicism that our country is suffering. imagine what people thought when they saw that muliti-racial crowd on TV celebrating Obama?
Think how many time I had to hear people skepticism about him winning because they thought this country was too racist to elect Obama. Well, they were wrong and this makes people rethink of their opinion of other people.
When we have hope in each other and faith, and come together, we will stamp out racism and all the ills of this country and the world. - xGORDOx, on 11/11/2008, -3/+2Agreed, best comedian ever.
Too bad the worst comedian is going to honor him, Jon Stewart just ain't funny. - melance, on 11/11/2008, -3/+2I'd say that he probably still thinks it's bullsh*t LOL
