Jerry Seinfeld The Historian(with video)
briancuban.com — On a a nationally televised talk show appearance Jerry Seinfeld called Ms. Lapine a wacko and a crackpot and compared her to the killers of John Lennon and Martin Luther King. Did he defame her or is he protected by the First Amendment.?

- ironeus, on 08/01/2008, -0/+8Wouldn't treating 2 American citizens, in this example Ms. Lapine & Ms. Lindsay Lohan, differently based on their public status be unconstitutional?
Regarding the copyright infringement I'd have to see both books before making that decision, but it's an interesting case. - louiebaur, on 07/11/2008, -1/+3Good job Jerry keep on flappin those lips of yours!
- AmyVernon, on 07/11/2008, -0/+6i dunno. his statement seems rather hyperbolic and i'd find it hard to imagine that anyone would actually take him seriously in believing she's as bad as Lennon's and King's assassins... yes, she's not quite the household name as he is, but she's also not exactly just a happy homemaker. i bet her book's sold a lot more copies since the row with the Seinfelds broke out...
- kloop10, on 07/11/2008, -1/+1I loved his show, the satire was always on point...but I don't know what to say about these comments he made
- LewP, on 07/11/2008, -0/+1Seinfeld is a comedian. He gets paid to make people laugh. I doubt that Seinfeld would stoop that low to personally attack a person like this...come on, he makes jokes!!!
- bcuban, on 07/11/2008, -1/+1I prefer to keep it simple and look at the intent of his statements. His intent was clearly to hurt this lady. That in my opinion takes it out of the real of comedy. To put it another way, if she had not sued him, do you think she would be part of his normal routine?
- giveer, on 07/12/2008, -0/+1Yes. Keep it simple and look at the intent. How bout this one?
He's a comedian. On a televised talk show. Positive exposure is part of your career. Since he's a comedian - I would say his INTENT was to make people LAUGH. That's simple intent for you - rather than your blathering assumptions.
- giveer, on 07/12/2008, -0/+1Yes. Keep it simple and look at the intent. How bout this one?
- damian7, on 07/11/2008, -1/+0Lets make some jokes about Cosmo Kramer's racial tirade.
Anyone remember how Seinfeld was on Letterman's show when Michael Richards was apologizing.
"Don't laugh, it's not funny"
What a hypocritical *****, go back to your ***** mega mansion in the Hamptons you annoying, over rated sack of *****.- giveer, on 07/12/2008, -0/+1Not only did you veer completely off topic, you got all heated and bothered about something that no one is talking about.
That event was one guy almost 2 years ago. I find it ironic that you're still ranting about a rant. Michael Richards has since left the spotlight - perhaps you should do the same.
- giveer, on 07/12/2008, -0/+1Not only did you veer completely off topic, you got all heated and bothered about something that no one is talking about.
- BrookeGill9, on 07/12/2008, -0/+0but i don't wanna be a pirate. oh jerry, just one more episode. one more.
- Fangsinmybeard, on 07/13/2008, -0/+1If done in harmful jest, he's protected.
