Jennifer Hudson's Mother Found Dead, 7 y/o Nephew Missing

tmz.com — Jennifer Hudson's mother was one of two victims shot and killed in Chicago earlier today. An all points bulletin has been issued for Hudson's 7-year-old nephew who may have been taken from the scene. Police are looking for 1994 white Suburban with license plate X584859.

    UPDATE 9:20 PM ET: A WBBM reporter is saying that neighbors have said a family member in the Hudson household apparently tried to steal a car a few weeks ago, an argument ensued, and he vowed revenge. A photo on Julia's MySpace page posted prior to today's events alludes to some kind of dispute with William over a car.

    Fact of the matter is, this kind of thing happens a lot, but we know of these particular incidents because it's mainstream media. Any human being with feelings that hears of this happening to ANYONE should care. It's a terrible thing. I don't know Jennifer and I'm sure I'll never meet her, but I feel terrible for her.

    You're trying to get diggs by being 'that guy.' Have some decency for humanity.

  • decyx, on 10/25/2008, -0/+4Yes, it's true that crime rates increase during times of great economic turmoil, but to simply look at a murder and assume that these people were killed as solely as a result of financial stress without any proof or evidence puts your comment at merely one step above gossip.

    Money may have been involved, but after reading various reports, it's clear that there was some past in-fighting amongst certain family members. I'd say the huge argument that Jennifer's mother had with a man named William shortly before her death (which incidentally ended with a death threat being exchanged) is far more likely to be considered motive than simply "the economy."
