THIS YEAR SUCKS! - EricAnderton, on 09/03/2008, -2/+41In a world called DIGG
There is a story that many people will tell
That many people will read over and over again
A story that some would call...
LEGENDARY.
This summer.
The legacy continues.
THE DUPLICATOR. - weeFred, on 09/03/2008, -1/+37Don't forget George Carlin!
- dojonz, on 09/03/2008, -0/+30THIS SUMMER won't be the same.
- Jarasmen, on 09/03/2008, -2/+31Arnold Shwartzannegar in... [NYAAAAAAAA blam blam blam blam] LITTLE TORTILLA BOY.
- hater2win, on 09/02/2008, -2/+26I am just glad that I got to hear his voice so many times throughout my life. Most recently I will always remember him promoting a Metal Gear Solid game.
RIP Don, I don't know what we'll do IN A WORLD... without you. - bjornski, on 09/03/2008, -0/+20I've never seen so much love for a person whose job it was to convince you to spend money.
- bixby1, on 09/02/2008, -1/+21That voice snapped me to attention every time. He really did make me want to go see the movies (insert sad face icon here).
- ThinkBox, on 09/03/2008, -1/+10You're the only ***** who is glad they won't have to hear him anymore.
- redfred18t, on 09/03/2008, -0/+8Or Stan Winston!
- wangarific, on 09/03/2008, -0/+8Amen. I bet most people would easily recognize his voice, they just wouldn't know its him.
- derekcannon, on 09/03/2008, -0/+8Thanks for sharing this video! It was priceless :D
R.I.P. Don :( - k3nt, on 09/03/2008, -0/+8And Tim Russert.
- Flare, on 09/03/2008, -3/+10Why the ***** did this story make the frontpage again? It was clearly submitted just yesterday and it got over 5500 diggs.
http://digg.com/movies/Greatest_Movie_Trailer_Voic ... - inactive, on 09/03/2008, -0/+7Man.. I always knew it was the SAME GUY doing these commercials.
He's really been around my entire life. It's going to be weird seeing trailers without him.
R.I.P Mr. LaFontaine. - fakeid781, on 09/03/2008, -1/+7Apparently you've never seen an apple fanboy drool over Steve Jobs. . .
- JDPoZ, on 09/02/2008, -0/+6Oh, Jeebus. I feel like an ass... that was Hal Douglas. Sorry, please bury for my ignorance.
- bjornski, on 09/03/2008, -0/+6Good point. Forgot about them.

- nzBeans, on 09/03/2008, -0/+4You're confusing him with either Jim Cummings (SatAM), Long John Baldry (Adventures), Gary Chalk (Underground) or Mike Pollock (Sonic X)
- Sizzor, on 09/03/2008, -0/+4THE ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME......is over.
- kevyn, on 09/03/2008, -1/+5now where have I seen this article before....

- Rhendal, on 09/03/2008, -0/+3In a world where movie trailers will never be the same...
- bobartig, on 09/03/2008, -0/+3My friends and I used to talk about how they should have him create a library of voice clips of random words said with all sorts of intonations, so that they can just string trailers together from his library forever. I don't want to live in a world without "movie voice guy"!
- stlredbird, on 09/03/2008, -0/+3In a world where Don LaFontaine is dead...
- Caliente, on 09/03/2008, -0/+3what a pimp. His legend will live on.
Rest in Peace Don. - alexanEmpire, on 09/03/2008, -0/+3Listen to me! You have to get out of here! They're trying to killl you! I'm not going to let them take...my....TORTILLAS!
- cfultz, on 09/03/2008, -0/+3In a World without Don LaFontaine, movie trailers will never be the same again... rip buddy.
- andy78, on 09/03/2008, -1/+4sad, we now live "in a world" where the "in a world" guy is no longer in the world...
- EricAnderton, on 09/03/2008, -0/+3I was gonna say "Linkin Park" myself, but that works too.
- jcdickerson, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2That's Hal Douglas, not Don.
- wangarific, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2Dude had an amazing voice and did so much more than voiceovers, if you watch any documentaries about him. He'll certainly be missed.
- skelnur, on 09/03/2008, -2/+4Also don't forget Roy Scheider!
- fullofguffaws, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2Wow this actually saddens me.
- draculthemad, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2At his age and some of the things I heard, it might have caused a blood clot that resulted in a stroke.
- abynion08, on 09/04/2008, -0/+2Took Long enough for a story on his death to get to atleast page 2.
Epic Fail, Digg. - Suzpaz, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QPMvj_xejg&feature ...
- ProfessorLX, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2holy *****, someone knows their sonic!
- PixelMagic, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2Digg would never forget him.
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2Feature of Don: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QPMvj_xejg
- cgjamj, on 09/03/2008, -0/+2Damn. That totally sucks. I'm certainly going to notice that it's NOT his voice in movie trailers going forward. RIP.
I wonder what caused him to die from a collapsed lung though. I fell from skating on a ramp in my teens and collapsed my lung. It's pretty serious, but there never seemed to be any concern that it could be fatal. I did stay in the hospital for a week, but that was just so they could make sure the hole in my lung was closing. I guess there was something more to this in his case. -
