I've heard of cases where the husband is rich, they get married, he looses all his money, they get divorced, and the judge orders the husband to somehow pay the wife the amount he had before they lost it all.
I've also heard of cases where the husband gets rich after the divorce, and the judge orders him to increase his spousal support payments based on his upgraded salary.

- rolf, on 09/11/2009, -0/+4I'm under impression, a wife is entitled to half the earnings since they married. Not half of whatever the husband earned up to that point in life of meeting her. This was to avoid husbands marrying young, working up to a good station in life, and then leaving his wife for someone else (younger perhaps) with everything in his name and a wife, perhaps being out of the job market as well, being left with nothing after 20 years.
And no, she shouldn't get half his *****. First, he earned whatever before even meeting her. And two, she married someone she damn well knew wouldn't stay with her - pure money grab.
