- dafragsta, on 11/22/2008, -4/+19It's because they are so firmly placed in the uncanny valley. They look more real than most video games, but they are easily identifiable as wax figures. It didn't take long for me it figure out that you can't see much in the way of skin imperfections and the way that wax holds light is not the same as the way skin does. Wax seems to almost hold it and diffuse it inside, whereas skin is pretty thick and opaque and has more defined shadows. It's also just a tad shiner than wax as well, when a flash hits it.

- twishart, on 11/22/2008, -1/+15I don't mind everything on seperate pages, as long as it's pretty clear and simple to get to the next page - the ad banners at the top had a delay in loading, so you either couldn't just keep your mouse in one spot to keep clicking, or you'd hover over the link to load the next page, and the ad would load in it's place; you'd end up clicking the ad instead.

Game designers call this "the uncanny valley", and it is the reason why it will be decades until humans are believably simulated in 3D, regardless of computer perfomance.
