      Regardless of your feelings of Fairplay, the law is pretty clear on assault and battery. Fairplay assaulted Bonaduce, and Bonaduce defended himself.

      If you're more concerned about Fairplay's "embarrassment" than about the assault, what about Bonaduce's embarrassment on being humped by Fairplay?

          It is called reasonable force. In this instance he was jumped on and took immediate action to dispel the "attacker". He didn't do anything more then what was required to toss this little tosser off of him. Thats reasonable force.

          If he had punched, kicked, stabbed, shot, body slammed, judo chopped or twisted his nuts off that would be deemed UNreasonable force and he would be prosecuted as such.

In a later interview, Bonaduce kept saying it was Fairplay's "velocity" that took him over the top, but there's no question Bonaduce had time to determine what he was going to do. He also had plenty of warning that it was going to happen, because Fairplay gave him every indication that he was going to pull some kind of move, almost as if he wanted Bonaduce to play along. Bonaduce threw Fairplay over his head for show. I think he'd lose a self-defense claim.

          I watched from the moment of mounting and counted to 3 Mississippi before Fairplay got thrown. If Bonaduce had held his arms away from him, Fairplay could have humped like that for five minutes and not come close to going over anybody's head. It was a very sustainable position. Bonaduce could have sat there and taken it, but instead he threw him. Not saying I don't understand his choice, but it was a choice, not an inevitable consequence of high-velocity thrusts.

Pushing fairplay forward would have resulted in a much messier end to the situation. Danny just did what any one who is a trained fighter would do - use the momentum of the attacker against them.     What to go Danny Bonaduce! This is probably the first good thing you have ever done for TV.

      • shors, on 10/18/2007, -8/+0how the ***** can you compare "dry humping" to what bonaduce did. fairplay's dry humping did not hurt bonaduce. okay it could have been a little bit tactless. maybe it made 15 seconds of bonaduce's life slightly unpleasant. but when bonaduce bodyslammed fairplay on his head, he got a life changing injury, and it could have been much worse (spinal trauma, brain trauma). I hope you're happy bonaduce, I hope it was worth it you worthless *****
