- Tialys, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23At least he died doing what he loved.
Better than a car wreck in my book. - crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -5/+19Thanks for everything you did Steve. We all appreciate your work.
- Jugalator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"What I'd like to know is why has he gained such a hate following?"
Many like to hate what other people like, if not only for that. - Bradl3y, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9I am not one of these people who suddenly worship steve irwin overnight, nor am I really even a fan, but your claim of him tormenting animals is absurd. In most of his shows he was doing what he had to do to move an animal from one area to another to better them, or he was doing it for educational purposes and to raise money to help the animals. Just because occasionally he had to jump onto a croc to capture it, he wasn't hurting the croc and he was doing it to help the croc.
- Sp0rAdiC, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11munkeyman: Honestly, what the hell have you done for nature? I'm sure Steve Irwin has done a whole lot more, and only idiots will remember him as "the guy that jumped on and harassed animals"
- Rikkochet, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7You'd rather die cleaning out a sewer or something?
- nightsweat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6@Rikkochet
At least you'd be able to die saying, "Damn it! I knew this job sucked!" which would give you some grim satisfaction. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Well, if that's true, then we must be experiencing people with either very immature minds or a feeling of insecurity in their own lives that they have to put down other people.
"Internet bullies?" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullies - crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Irwin#Environmentalism
- thirtysixbelow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6you have a lot of fun?
- sugardaddy4242, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8"What happens when you play with fire?"
And that is why people will remember Steve Irwin. Will people ever remember you? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6What I'd like to know is why has he gained such a hate following? Why do the haters always cite stereotypes of that guy in order to hate him? Did he hate Jews or black people and the rest of us just didn't know it? What reason?
Many people who work at a zoo or with dangerous animals have families. It's not unheard of. - haelios, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Guys, I'm Aussie and I loved Steve and his work, but enough about his death already...
- converge, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Who cares how you die? When you're dead you won't know it.
- Pureeviljester, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Prolly not, but does it really matter? I'll be dead. Steve Irwin doesn't care that people remember him... he's dead. It might be harsh but it's true.
- chownrus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3That was a great clip. My favorite line:
"He was 44, that's a ripe old age for a crocodile hunter" - Atreiu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Well thats not the way to think when you have a family with a child to take care of.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2"What I'd like to know is why has he gained such a hate following?"
Because this is Digg here, the realm of do-nothing nerds who aren't good at anything and need to put down people who actually achieve something.
What they think, of course, is irrelevant. They're good-at-nothing geeks, on whose faces we *****. - just1moredigger, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I'd say the percentage of true Pro Crock hunters killed out of all the Crock hunters is much greater than the percentage of true Pro Nascar Drivers killed out of all the Nascar Drivers. Just a hunch but I doubt there are that many pro Crock Hunters now that Steve Irwin has set the standard so high!
- omega86yu, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I've lost track on that video of his... Did it get destroyed or what ?
- kolop1, on 10/12/2007, -7/+6 He is dead. Let these stupid posts about him die too.
- Jugalator, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"Terri Irwin said her husband had an uncanny way with animals that both of them believed would keep him safe as he played with dangerous beasts."
Well, in a sense, he was. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4Steve should have stuck his thumb in the stingray's butt.
- BobMysterioso, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3@ DavidKeithJones - own topic since his is burried.
How is being a Nascar driver more dangerous? How many crocodile hunters are there? How many die? How many nascar drivers are there? How many die? How often are they in danger? Why are there so many questions in this post? Is anyone still reading?
I'm just saying its not a fair comparison and no statistics exist on non tv star crocodile hunter deaths vs nascar. Then again, maybe someone has devoted a blog to it, you never know. - grooviekenn, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4 If I wrestled crocodiles I would have felt that I would die early too!
- CharlesDarwin, on 10/12/2007, -14/+11These here stingrays are generally peaceful little buggers. But watch what happens when I stick my thumb in his butthole!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+6"Terri Irwin said her husband had an uncanny way with animals that both of them believed would keep him safe as he played with dangerous beasts."
Except, you know, with stingrays. - intense321, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1I feel the same way (that I will die in a car accident). It's the most common way for young healthy people to die, after all. This shouldn't be that surprising of a claim.
- munkeyman, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4Doesn't take a ***** genius to work that out.
- Pureeviljester, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Steam as in Source?! o_0
- sagui, on 10/12/2007, -14/+8'Crocodile Hunter' felt he'd die early...
Funny, so did I... - Pureeviljester, on 10/12/2007, -14/+5Is it really better to die doing something you loved? I mean, who'd want the worst thing to happen to them while they are doing the best thing in the world(to them). Sure would damper my view on the thing i loved.
- munkeyman, on 10/12/2007, -14/+5Heh, clearly that stingray also felt he'd die early. Sorry, the stingray thought he DESERVED to die early. Maybe the pissed-off crocs had a word with the stingrays.
- Pureeviljester, on 10/12/2007, -14/+3My name is average Joe and I mod down people who say crocodile hunters will, presumably, have a short life. They are just inhuman and insensitive....
The guys dead. What happens when you play with fire? - A2Ska, on 10/12/2007, -23/+12Well, he was a crocadile hunter.
- Pureeviljester, on 10/12/2007, -17/+4I'm tired of Irwin news...
- themulf, on 10/12/2007, -18/+4Yeah, kinda comes with the territory.
- munkeyman, on 10/12/2007, -20/+2***** you, annoying pedantic *****.
- munkeyman, on 10/12/2007, -26/+6Yeah, thanks for tormenting animals, I'm sure they loved being jumped on and filmed.

What is Digg?
