Yes, the ***** drunks behind a wheel are a huge problem, but I've yet to be convinced (and I've looked at the stats on the MADD website) that a small amount of drinking worsens driving safety above the noise. Granted, weather, visibility, traffic, etc. are all variables that worsen your chances when small amounts of alcohol are involved. But, is it worse than people older than 65 on the road?

A few years ago I had the distinct honor of being sentenced to 10 days at tent city, and the majority of people get cut loose early to make room for more inmates. I did 9 of 10 (with work release during the week) but I saw a few guys that only did 2 or 3 out of 10. They probably let more people go early now, as DUI laws have become even tougher since then.

Except at a drunk driving check point, people rarely get pulled over for no reason (unless you are driving while Black in the wrong neighborhood). It looks like he got pulled over for running a red light.
Did he run a red light because of diminished capacity, or does he habitually runs red lights. I don't know, but people who run red lights are a serious danger to everyone out on the road. I mostly ride a motorcycle for my commuting needs, and people who run red lights, and make hair brained turns scare the crap out of me.
Sir Charles has no one to blame but himself.
